I was vodafone sim only £20 30 day contract for the last six months. got it with initial £90 quidco cashback. I called to ask for PAC and was offered 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £12.50 with a 12 month no phone contract. I have accepted but in the 14 day cooling period. I have iphone so not interested in a new phone really but concerned about 12 month contract. Is this an acceptable deal? Is anything likely to be better?0

I am now in the last 30 days of contract.
I currently have this contract; 200 xnet mins, 500 texts, unlimited weekend phone calls, no internet, £35 per month.
I have been told this is the best contract for me, if I want internet access its £5 month more, and if I want C905 I have to pay £90 on top, or if I want N96 its £200 on top.
Looks like I'll have to write and cancel and see if that makes them offer something better.0 -
My contract has been up for a couple of months now, been waiting for a couple of phones to appear on the market.
Anyway I’ve finally settled on the E71 on a business tariff. The trouble is I have to pay £85 up front for the privilege for a 12 month contract. Giving me 500mins-lucky if I use 200 a month at the moment.
If I go via top cash back in theory I get £60 cash back. Ordering online and ticking the keep the same number box it looks like I have to take out a new deal with a new direct debit. If I order via phone I’ll lose the £60 cash back.
Another option would be to buy the phone outright and get one of the £9.85 retention deals. I would save £18 a month
Any ideas on a strategy or plan for getting a deal.0 -
Has anybody negotiated a good deal after returning a handset they didnt like??0

we will only call if you have requested a pac code or written in to cancell your contract. if you have seen a "new customer deal", note down what it is and where you have seen it, then when we call we can try to match or better it. a new phone and a better price plan is what upgrades are all about.
when i mentioned in earlier posts that some people want unrealistic deals, an example would be someone who want a phone with a retail value of £400 on a heavily discounted contract ( discounted from lets say £30 to £15 ) for 12 months. the total cost of the contract is £180 which means that we are -£220 compared to if we let you leave and sold the phone on a pay as you talk scheme for its full value.
What I then want to do is change the tariff on my 2nd phone (same account) from a 'standard' tariff to a BB tariff but I am told that it is impossible to go on a BB tariff for an account on which a BB has not been purchased. Surely a customer wanting to move to a more expensive tariff who already has a phone shouldn't encounter any problems compared to those wanting 'the earth' in terms of an upgrade.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Vodafone do "better" deals. As I mentioned previously, I was offered a 12 month contract at £20 per month, free c905, 500 mins and 500 texts.0 -
