Mrs Flittersnoop - think yourself lucky - I haven't seen a naked man - ugly or otherwise - for over a year now!

Poor Sleep Club Memeber here too - and when i did get to sleep I dreamed of w*rk so not much rest there. It wasn't even an interesting day at w*rk - just me pushing files.

I'm in court today so finishing time is unpredictable and then I need to do a big shop - well as big as the bike can hold anyway - and see dd and dgs. Exoh is coming over for tea tonght to see little dd. He has a newish gf so she doesn't see much of him at the moment. Tea tonight will be fish and chips if I can persaude exoh to treat us.

Oh there's the 7am pips - time to wake up dd

    have a good day

oh and scuzz - my dbro did that firewalking thing - it's brilliant and they really do train you well - he found it a real high - good luck
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
  • Morning everyone

Very nippy here this morning, I think it is time to admit defeat and turn the heating on :o
No work today, but lots of Ebay pack and wrap, so my day looks busy. I can't list anything else as we go away soon, so maybe I should start packing instead :D How you doing Kyle, you go a couple of days before us ? I appear to have moved this paragraph, no idea how
Beans on toast for breakfast and shepherds pie for tea - I was going to do spag bol with garlic bread, but remembered DH is on a course tomorrow, so had better give the garlic a miss :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day, :grouphug: to anyone in need. JackieO, hope you feel better today
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

Morning all - just a quick one before I have my shower. (((Hugs))) to all who need them, especially those who are ill or worried. I'm finding it so hard to get some 'me' time lately and it's starting to get me down. DH, being self-employed, works such erratic hours at the moment that I never know when I'm going to get some time to myself. He's one of those who can't seem to occupy himself if I'm doing something. It's OK if I'm doing the housework but he seems to have a not-so-subtle way of making me feel guilty if I read my book or the paper or come on here. I'm going to have to do something about it soon or I'll have to divorce him before he retires for good! When I speak to him about it I just get upset and he doesn't try to understand. Sorry for the moan but it helps to get it off my chest and I don't feel I can tell anyone else. You are all good friends. I hate having to read the thread so quickly in the few opportunities I get on here and I want to mention more of you all in my posts but, until his work picks up, I'm having to limit my time on here.

Anyway, I have managed to catch up with Hardup Hester's thread and it's rivetting stuff! As soon as I can get my sleep (or lack of it) sorted out, I'll be able to get up earlier in the mornings to get uninterrupted time on here.

A lot of people on here seem to be going through worrying times so I'm sending hugs to you all.
DGS is coming round for tea after school this afternoon and then I'm going to take him home and sit with him and his sister while DS1 and DIL attend DGD's first open evening so I need to get dinner done early. I've made sausagemeat burgers to go with salad and DGS's favourite oven chips. My car is being MOT'd at 10.45 so finger's crossed. It's sailed through every MOT since I've had it (three years now) so it will come as a shock if they find a problem.

I also need to sort through my stash of pressies and stuff for Christmas and wrap my mum's birthday presents up. She's 77 on Friday, bless her, and we are going to visit her and stay the night. She lives in Wiltshire. Then, on Saturday, our 'drinking' neighbours are coming round to sample the wine we brought back from France, so I'm looking forward to a good weekend.

Anyway, must go now. I need to have a shower and get cracking on the chores. Will try and call in later. Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning everyone

Sorry some of you aren't getting a decent nights sleep..

Well hubby has left for work with hm bread and hm beef n onion spread.... 1st time i have made the spread..had some beef left over, and have enough steak pies etc in the freezer, so i remembered mum malking something similar years ago..... got the thumbs up from hubby, so have left some in fridge and frozen the rest in 2 lots.

Well yesterday i had one of my fettle heads on and so got quite a bit done:T
    • vaccumed right through
    • mopped bathroom, kitchen and hall
    • cleaned bathroom
    • washed the paintworks down
    • cleaned front door, scrubbed steps and swilled front area down
    • attacked the landing and stairs carpet with some hot water n zoflora and a scrubbing brush... it wasn't dirty as we have only been here a few weeks, but it brings up the pile a treat
So i think todays mission will be to get the windows done, mop the cellar steps, and to have a quick tidy up of the laundry room whilst im down there.

The leagues new season starts tonight, so im off 10pin bowling..that should burn a few calories :T
Dinner will be liver casserole(made for the freezer at the weekend), new potatoes, brussels, cabbbage n broccoli :D

well i had better get of and make a cuppa and catch up on the news.. missed most of yesterdays posts:rolleyes:

hugs to all that need one :D
hope everyone has a good day

Yep - I know dogrose (re Hesters blog that is) - me, i'm just going to enjoy it while we can ... I have already noted the style of writing is starting to get more "fluid", as Hester is getting more confident and starting to enjoy herself. I spotted bits and pieces she'd written on various things before (like the Memories thread) and thought "she has a story in her to tell - but hasnt yet got the confidence that she has had anything that special in the way of a life or that we would be interested - if she does start telling us then who knows...". Now she's blogging - I think I was probably right and I am just going to watch developments with interest. Belle du Jour eat your heart out - I am personally thinking "early days ... but maybe, somewhere along the line...some publisher might decide on an ordinary woman in the street life interspersed with Hesters "other" activities could be the thing".

But - I shall enjoy the read and watching Hesters developing fluency meanwhile.

Sorry - everyone else - dont mean to ignore you.... good luck for a good day everyone. Off to work myself ...  . Why does time go so slowly at work and so fast outside it? Must be a new law of the universe ... akin to Sods Law.

    Morning everyone,

tiredmum, I hope your appointment goes well today.
Marie, I hope your ddil has the sense to listen to her doctor…she’s incredibly young to be having TIA’s and now a stroke. I hope she will listen to the good advice she’s been given. It’s difficult because you can’t live her life for her, but hopefully she will see reason soon.
    taplady, enjoy your days off.
Happy birthday to Mrs Flittersnoop’s ds

Well, my rain dance yesterday didn’t work and bright sunshine filled the skies when I collected ds2 from school, so we had to go to the dreaded Harvest Fair. Actually it wasn’t that bad, but unfortunately ds had his heart set on winning a goldfish. Between us we had 36 attempts (which thankfully only cost £2) before we accepted that we are rubbish at throwing ping pong balls into glass jars and in the end I just asked the stall holder if I could buy one. He only charged me £1, So we have come home with a goldfish called Paul. Apparently that’s the name ds wishes that we had given him. Anyway, ds now thinks that this is the best fish in the world. When Mr Pink arrived home, he rushed out of the house to tell him that he’d got a goldfish. Mr Pink threw his head in his hands and cried ‘Oh no! Not another mouth to feed!’ The poor child needed a bit of consoling as he doesn’t really get his Dad’s sense of humour!

The good bit for me was that while walking around town I spied a Morphy Richards 6.5ltr slow cooker which I’ve had my eye on for a while. It was in a shop window reduced from £33.99 to £21.99…and I couldn’t resist it! So I finally have a new slow cooker! :j It’s a big beast and cooks things much more quickly than my very old one which was a wedding present 23 years ago. I love it but it’ll probably take a while to get used to the timings.

Am I silly to feel bad about relegating my trusty old one to the attic? I can’t bear to actually throw it away and nobody else would want it as the lid smashed earlier this year and I’ve been using an upturned plate as a lid for the last few months. I know the sensible thing to do would be to bin it, but I just don’t feel that I can. I still feel bad...or maybe just a bit daft, for having become attached to a kitchen appliance.

Anyway, I’m feeling more fired up today than I was yesterday. The washing machine is on, the breadmaker is ready to go, the lunches have been sorted and the beds are made. I’m hoping to go around the house with a couple of bags to try to get rid of some clutter that has accumulated later and I also have some paperwork to do for work, so that little lot should keep me out of mischief.

Tea tonight will be a lamb and tomato casserole in my new toy....hopefully I’ll be able to remember/find the recipe that I used last time, because everyone enjoyed it.

OK, I must go and get the little one organised.…I hope you all have a good day.

    Take care all,

    Pink
