HappyKitties, do you mean you think she knew about the infection? They are amazing creatures, I believe it is possible nowadays to train dogs to sniff out cancer, I know that when one of my cats was hit by a car, as she lay in the front garden the other three all sat round her, they knew exactly what was going on.
Anyhow, sorry to be so glum, you will never be able to replace her but there is for sure another kitty out there who is just as special in their own way that needs you in their lifeMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I fixed my mum's toilet seat today, but not before disassembling the same one in the display bathroom at H0mebase to work out how the hell it fitted on in the first place :rotfl: (it just came off in my hand, officer
)
We've postponed dinner out until tomorrow so roast it is tonight.

I was just thinking about you this morning HappyKitties - I'm so sorry to read your sad news. They are such a massive part of life, and it's hard when they're gone. And totally normal to feel flat as well. Lots of love to you.
LaE - that's a tremendous amount of cash.
FvD - I wish I had an axe. I remember the day I bought a 70cm drill bit to do some outdoors work and I felt like I was on top of the world. Oh the power :rotfl:
So today went almost as planned. Except my dad wasn't home when we got there - so we had to leave the blanket and a note (good job I still have a key for his place). My mam made roast dinner (always safe with the kids) and then she wanted me to go to her favourite clothes shop with her after lunch. It's an outlet place - so off we went. She insisted on buying me a new skirt and top for work that I liked but refused to spend my money on. Bless her.
The weather has continued to be utterly miserable for the entire day so another early night in front of the telly with the fluffy pj's on.Not giving up

Serves me right - ordered a pizza an hour and a half ago - it came cold, stuck to the top of the pizza box and missing the garlic bread... Now we're waiting for the (hopefully) hot, correct order to arrive. Should've just cooked for myself - then I'm never disappointed!!0

Grrr, just tried to update, had a verification thing (to prove I am not a robot, apparently) and my updates disappeared. Is anyone else getting that? I keep getting it at the moment, but haven't ended up with a totally blank screen before :mad:Today I have / will:
Rehung kitchen curtains, all nice and clean now. They are pale yellow with a small floral print, not everyone's cup of tea but I find them so sunny and cheery, especially on a horrible grey day like this! And they only cost a few £ from a charity shop about 5 years ago
Cleaned top of cooker (a bit of a mission as it is a big range one, so tends to get left)
Dough for fruit buns in BM These were a great success, so will make again. They take ages (the proving part when it is chilly in here, speeded up when I put the oven on to cook dinner) but arevery cheap, and just as nice, or nicer, than bought ones
Raspberries out of freezer for jamming once they defrost - fed up with them falling out every time I open the freezer door! There are only 2lbs, but it will make a few jars, and HM raspberry jam is also a cheery kind of thing for grey daysDone, made 2 big (1 lb size) jars and 3 small ones. I used preserving sugar, which I don't as a rule, as it is more expensive. It was much easier and quicker though, so I will in future. As the fruit costs nothing, it is still cheap jam, even if the sugar is more expensive than ordinary granulated
Folded up washing from airer and put away Done, though there is more up there now!
Stripped off bedlinen and washed it - it will be done soon, and hopefully it can go outside -I currently have DS's clothes out there, and they seem to be blowing about a bit, anyway! Dried quite well in that freezing wind - just needs finishing off now
Sorted out a box of sales stock for ebaying, and a couple of items that can go to my sales unit.
Print out a postage label for one item that has sold Not done as the laptop was playing up. Now sorted but I don't want to start the dog off barking (for some reason he barks frantically at the printer)
Dog walk later Done
Bits from fridge for lunch Done
Roast beef for dinnerDone, and there will be enough for dinner tomorrow as well
Ordered some special offers from Campbells meat, used up the 20% off voucher I was sent before Xmas due to missing / damaged items in my order. Serious freezer tetris required on Tuesday when it all arrives  Hoping for no mistakes this time, though to be fair they do respond immediately if there is a problem. Last time I got a refund for missing and damaged items, plus the discount code for next order.
Can't think of anything else at the moment!0 -

There is a free way of not losing your posts every again! I use this a lot...<rummages around to resurrect an old post>....
First you need to use Firefox or Ice Dragon as a browser. Then install Lazarus. We all know the frustration of writing a post on here only to have the computer eat it and having to start writing it again:
(1)
You can quickly and easily download the free Lazarus Form Recovery 2.3.1. Add On, or whatever version is currently in fashion. Then if your post goes AWOL you can just right click the blank form where the post should be and click Recover Text and, abracadabra, it'll restore what you wrote.
To install this very tiny helpful doo-dah:
*Click on the 3 horizontal lines in the corner of your browser screen.
*Click on Add Ons.
*In the Search box type "Lazarus". You will see "Lazarus: Form Recovery" comes up.
*Click Install.
*That's it.
*Restart Firefox.
It should take less than a two minutes to do this. Now when you lose a post right click the blank form where the post has vanished from, click Recover Text and, you'll get your post back. This will work on most forms on the internet, not just on MSE.
If you don't have Firefox you can get it free here. (Link)
(2)
The other useful things about the Lazarus Add-On is that you can use it to write posts on here more quickly. For example, if I want to add my long list of links that I post every day I don't have to go back to yesterday's thread, find the list and copy and paste it in. I can just start a new post, right click on the blank form, Click Recover text and click on any of my recent posts that'll pop up before my very eyes. I can then edit that post if I want to.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Not me, Dawn but I tend to do lots of different posts, they're free after all
I'm glad you're still getting sales on eb@y, I had four items up and none sold and over on the eb@y forum lots of people have been saying how slow it is.

Hehehe, thank-you.
I have a medical condition which is a blessing and a curse: an Eidetic Memory.
This means that if I hear something through my ears I will often remember it for life. (It's not like a photographic memory where you remember everything you see.)
With songs I will often remember all the lyrics and tune after hearing it just once. This was helpful when getting my Music degree and for teaching music but not helpful when I am trapped on a bus and the driver is playing the most irritating tune ever! It's also useful when travelling because I learn languages easily.
So, I will also remember random facts and information that I've heard on the radio, at the bank where I used to work, on tv or from a lecture. I figured I might as well share some of this random rubbish in my head on this forum!
Foxgloves once said MI6 should have me on speed dial. :rotfl:
However, I often forget my hat when heading out into bad weather...odd...
