I hoovered my car out yesterday and filled the water for the windscreen washers.
Had a good chat and laugh with friends yesterday afternoon was worth every penny of £2 for pot of tea enough for 2 big cups. Then we went to the range and although the Xmas decs are lovely I only spent £7.99 on two puppy toys. An indestructable bone and teething ring she is enjoying chomping. So total spend £9.99.

    Things to do today

    Mop kitchen floor
    Ironing
1 load washing if weather is nice one load done another just finishing
Check online banking and rewards done
Parcel up unwanted clothes to return to asda

I have a chicken to roast later for dinner with DS he was out last night with friends so it will probably be tea time by the time he gets up :rotfl:

Well done on resisting the urge to splurge in the Range. My DD's a big fan of the wall of tinsel they display in our local one, it's the only time I can get her to go in!!
  • I seem to spend all my spare cash on puppy toys at the moment :o

Have taken puppy for a walk to the park where she has had a good run around after her ball then come home and she is now fast asleep :D

I have checked online banking and I have another £5.63 rewards this month. Once they have cleared the total will be over £50 and I will claim the cash to put into the Christmas account. I have £181 left in my current account. £70 was from the neighbours for the gravel in their share of the alleyway at the back of the house and £100 is half what I normally pay into savings, instead it will all be paid off my new 0% credit card. I have also saved £100 this month into the savings account.

Once the rest of my George order arrives I will collect using their "drive-thru" and then return all the items I don't want together in one visit for a refund. So far I am keeping 2 pairs of jeans £10 each and a nice everyday/wear with jeans plum chunky knit jumper £16. I may have to go into town and visit primarni to see if I can get some more cheap jumpers as this is the only one I have, otherwise its cardi's and hooded fleeces.

Well done on rewards and money left in savings account. I have just enough to cover my credit card! No savings this month till the lodger moves in. I hope he does as he still didn't sign the agreement.

    - looking forward to trying on bargain new clothes ordered from asda, I have 2 parcels to collect this week. Work trousers £6 a pair, 2 tops buy 2 for £6 and several items to return for refund onto credit card.
    - also looking forward to new boots ordered online to local store and waterproof dog walking shoes as fed up of wet feet !

    - puppy classes... DS has paid £45 for 8 weeks and we started last night. so we are looking forward to an obedient dog that doesn't nearly pull me over and eat everything in sight (ever seen Marley and me ?) :rotfl:

    - hoping for a mild November ... I am trying to keep the heating off for as long as possible. Managing with just putting on a jumper at the moment. Will need to get boiler man out to sort boiler so hoping that will not cost much.

  • So, interest rates went up today and I have had a text from my lender to say they will be writing to me so will wait and see how much the mortgage has gone up :(

I paid £170 off my credit card on payday but it hasn't come off my account yet, will have to phone them if it hasn't come off by tomorrow.

Also had a renewal in the post for a club I was a member of for a discount on my car insurance but as I am no longer with the same car insurance company I don't need the membership anymore, so I need to phone and cancel tomorrow. Saving £25.

I also need to check my claim with pay pal for the boiler part which has never turned up. Last time I checked the seller had not replied to pay pal and I am hoping to get a refund. The cut off date for the seller to reply is tomorrow.

Good luck with the refund, it should be quick now. Well done on saving money with car membership. The mortgage shouldn't go up by that much I think.

I have had my heating on soooo many times. OMG I can't believe you haven't. Well done. Well done on doggie lessons and on new clothes~~!!!

  • Haha didn't last long in November... the heating was on for 15 minutes this morning to take the chill off and 15 minutes again tonight. Its blooming freezing !

Phoned paypal today and no reply from seller so my refund is on its way :j I bought through paypal on my old credit card so the refund will pay off the balance as that was the only thing outstanding £87.01

Also remembered to cancel club membership. Had a nice dog walk this afternoon and then put some washing out, dog bedding and towels, but it didn't dry so I gave it a blast in the tumble dryer and finishing off on airers.

We have had aldi chicken curry for tea with sauce from a jar and nan bread. I'm glad its the weekend. More moves at work and another new manager to get used to.

I hope the new manager is nice. Yum for your aldi tea. I have had the heating on since I arrived home as it is freezing here too.

  • Good morning, its dark and raining this morning. Put the puppy out at 5.30am between showers thankfully and after playing and feeding she has now gone back to bed for a snooze. :) Hopefully the rain will have stopped later when its time to walk her.

I have had an email from coop energy and I think I can now leave penalty free. Its doesn't specifically say that so I need to phone them later. I did a quick comparison and Scottish power were cheapest saving £170 compared to the variable tariff I will be on when coop fix ends but they have £50 per fuel exit fees. British gas were coming up next cheapest (save £148) with £20 per fuel exit fees so I need to get switched soon.

I am going to advertise the pet carriers on gumtree later today and see if we can get some money to help pay for vet fees so far. Its surprising how much they add up. DS is going to go and set up a direct debit later today to put her on a pet plan. We have the large pet carrier we used for the first month and then we have 2 brand new smaller ones which amaxon said we could keep as they sent the wrong ones.
