I've done so much washing this weekend ! The weather has been ideal, sunny and windy and dry today. I've washed pet bets and towels from drying her off yesterday after going to toilet in the pouring rain. It doesn't bother her but not sure if puppies get that "wet dog" smell.
Also did my ironing board cover and towels and work clothes which are mostly ironed and put away now. Am managing to hoover every day so far and the new vax cordless is doing a good job picking up dog hair and bits of food.
My bank account looks amazing at the moment with my wages going in tomorrow ... finally payday :j but wont last long once direct debits come off on the 1st. Will do a monthly update tomorrow0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Lovely sunny day today with a nice breeze. One load of washing done this afternoon.
I called into b&m on the way home from work and bought a few bits and pieces then went to pets at home to check flea treatment. I then realised I had forgotton to get a dog cooling mat for £8.99 in b&m for puppy to lie on as she gets very hot in the sunny afternoons. The only ones in pets at home were £35 !! So I decided to pop back to b&m. It was only after parking and buying one that I realised the signs in the car park said £70 fine if you return within an hour
Luckily when I went in to see he owners of the car park - the supermarket next door to b&m - they were very understanding and exempted me from the charge.. phew ! Could have been a very expensive dog mat. Puppy was trying to chew it at first, everything gets a chew, and then she realised it was nice and cool to lie on and promptly fell asleep laid out on it, so was definitely worth it.
Have worked out my budget for the month and things are very tight so no more buying ! Very large credit card bill this month with all the diy fencing and garden done so need to keep on the straight and narrow - must not spend !!!0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

savingwannabe wrote: »Howdy. Welcome and well done in posting. Someone clever will come along in a minute. Unless I read this incorrectly you are saving which is good.
This year I invested in a freeview box - you can get them cheap from fleabay (used ones) and cancel your cable. You can get cheap deals on basic phone and internet at the moment and that should reduce paying out £38 a month on cable. I only pay £17.99 to sky for broadband and unlimited free phonecalls.
Also take sarnies to work. I can't believe how much I have saved.
You can switch your current account to TSB and make £125 in thirty or forty days plus if you pay on your debit card when you do shopping you get cashback up to £5 a month.
Also put your savings into an account with a high rate of interest. Current accounts like M&S have additional benefits like mine has a 6% savings account attached but I can only save £250 in it. However I have also had £125 cash and am getting £120 ish of vouchers which I give to parents. My Tesco kitchen account is earning £7.50 a month interest.
If you want to buy anything look at fleabay first as people sell the same things much cheaper on it.
Do you have old cds, dvds, books, furniture, clothes, Christmas presents you don't want that you can put on fleabay when they have free listing days?
Can you rent out a room?
If you have a car can you drive to an aldi or lidl for main shopping as they are cheaper than regular shops. And do extra top up shopping at traditional shops.
Can you do surveys on the 'puter and get amazon vouchers and use them for Christmas?
Always watch Martins Moneysaving Programme on Mondays.
Keep posting and Welcome. :beer::j:money:
Speaking of Martins, I always like to watch Doc Martin, I got the box set. The medical stuff is based on real life stuff so using these, plus medical documentaries saves me on arranging doctors appointments as I can self diagnose basic issues.
I try to ride a bike whenever I can to save on petrol aswell as the need for other exercising crap such as gym costs.Sometimes my advice may not be great, but I'm not perfect and I do try my best. Please take this into account.0 -
I have saved enough money to travel around about 3 years long. actually. Including flight tickets and nice at least 4-star hotels.0

oooh we have some new members!!!! Hello tyre lever - a bike is great and so is researching illnesses as you can save money.
SYA, hello my petal. We both have the same problem this month a high credit card. At least you have invested in the house so it isn't wasted money. Well done on bargains and for getting such nice things for puppy. She must be soo happy. Is she exploring?
She is priceless, doggies love you and they will stop you focussing on the stresses of work as they are so lovely. When I retire I would like a doggie. :jAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Hello TyreLever and alwaysready well done on your money saving. Not sure I would do the self diagnosis bit but riding a bike is great exercise and free !
Just a quick post as I am just waiting for chicken breast to cool for doggie treats tomorrow so I can put it in the fridge and then I am off to bed.
I'm not sure I would wait until retirement to get a dog SW its exhaustingalthough you could always get a rescue/grown dog rather than a puppy. Was up at 2am to put her out for toilet as DS was on nights. I will be glad when she's older and can go through the night !
Her favourite thing yesterday was half a cold carrot she was rolling it around and chomping on itToday her favourite thing was an ice cube which she was pouncing on outside on the patio and it was sliding across the floor which made her pounce on it even more :rotfl: Gotta love her. Both of these were cheaper than buying treats.
All the extra puppy toileting & feeding etc is playing havoc with my eating. I didn't have time for breakfast yesterday before I left for work and forgot my purse. Someone was leaving and brought in cakes so I had a cake about 11am and lots of coffee. I did manage breakfast this morning but forgot my banana for mid-morning and ended up buying a sandwich in the canteen about 10.30am for £1.80:o Must be more organised. In fact I am going to go and put a banana in my handbag now for the morning and off to bed.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

She sounds so funny. I hope you remember to pack food and things - I think it will become easier as it sounds like she is completely settled and happy:j:T.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Am so glad its Friday I am soooo tired ! Got up with puppy at 2am who went outside and did what she needed to then went back to bed no problem. Roll on 5am and she went out again and then had a play until I had to leave for work. DS was home 30 mins later. This afternoon she has had a bath for the first time
she was so good whilst DS shampoo'd her and dried her off and she is now all golden and fluffy and snuggly. I got some RSPCA dog shampoo in B&M for a good price. Also got a toothbrush and liver toothpaste (yuck!) in B&M so that should be fun when we try it out.
Petrol light came on in the car halfway home but I shouldn't need to refill the tank until Monday morning. Am tempted to have a takeaway tonight as we haven't had one for a while and I have my socialising budget for the month.
2 loads of washing done and line dried this afternoon. Not sure what the forecast is like for the weekend. Hoping to go to the local monthly car boot tomorrow, will see what the weather is like in the morning.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
