  • Thanks @doingitanyway and @MoneyWorry

I didn’t spend anything meeting up with my friend on Sunday. She bought us free refill tea in wertherspoons, so we had a couple of drinks and a good chat.

Today I have walked the dog then popped to aldee for cereal, cleaning products & toilet rolls to take to my new house once we have completed. Total spend £15.15. It still doesn’t feel real and I don’t think I will believe it until I have the keys in my hand. I am starting work soon on a late shift today.

  • This week I am waiting to complete. Once everything is finalised I will collect the keys and visit the bank for an up to date statement. Then it will be cleaning and listing things needed.

I also need to check the phone signal as I am planning to
only have phone internet. Gaff are doing unlimited calls & texts plus 25gb data £10 seems good & as I only browse internet and MSE I hope that will be enough data with no wifi. Hopefully my current sim provider will match the deal.

I will visit the BS and open a 2 yr bond fixed 4% £50k and a 12 month 4% fixed bond £20k. I will drip feed my bank digital saver 5% the max £150 per month I have £20k left for instant access & £12k for house repairs - soffit/ facias / guttering, new boiler and a bit of roofing (mortar between ridge tiles), remove bath & replace with a walk in shower.

Then back to DS’s for remaining notice period at work & arrange removals & transferring bills.

  • An exciting week for you.
    Your saving diversity looks sound.
It will be a stressful week perhaps but be sure to take a moment to stop and see how far you have come.

I'm so pleased it's concluding this week and your plans can move on shortly after.

How about checking on your works PC how much internet/ data you've used, same with your phone and own laptop / PC, that will give a rough idea as to whether 25gb will be enough. It's video clips and photos which use data more than surfing, reading emails etc.

  • Oops it’s 20gb data. I am not very tech savvy so I wouldn’t have a clue how to check my data useage?  🙈

Today I am going to meet up with my school friend for lunch. Not sure where we are going but probably somewhere cheap & cheerful 😁

  • I’m with Gaff for my mobile internet and calls. They do all the work for you so if your bundle is too much or not enough, they will contact you and offer another bundle. I was originally on £10, but now I’m on £8.
  • That’s great to know, thanks MoneyWorry. I ordered my free sim which should arrive in the next few days & a PAC code as I couldn’t get a better deal with e e.

Lunch with my friend was at one of the pubs a few villages along. Hunters chicken, chips & salad & Diet Coke £8.85. I think I can afford to be a lady who lunches here 😆

  • Finally we have completed 🥳

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. So much more to do and arrange but I am just taking a little time to take it all in.
