  • I would think you can collect it on the 11th and it would get sent back on the 12th if you didn't.

You made it to November without really putting the heating on and it's great 15 minute bursts does the trick.

  • We are forecast to have -1 in the morning 🥶 so I have put the heating to come on for 15 mins at 7am. That should be enough to warm the house when ds gf gets up to go to work and then I get up and walk the dog.

Hat, gloves, scarf & fur lined wind proof coat ready for the morning!

Will walk the dog again late afternoon before it gets dark and then batten down the hatches ready for the fireworks 💥🥺

  • It’s definitely colder this morning 🥶 just waiting for the house to warm up, heating is definitely on!

Will walk the dog then put the slow cooker on. I have some carrots & swede to use up, will add an onion & sausage casserole packet mix, then later I will add chipolatas, butternut squash, baby potatoes & peppers. The sausages are in the freezer so I will lift them out to defrost ready to add later.

I have stocked up on a few cheap packet mixes to try in the slow cooker, otherwise it all tends to taste the same, either gravy or tomato & herb. Once I get used to using the slow cooker more I will try recreating the packet mix. I have lots of herbs & spices just need to get used to the combinations.

I’ve been looking at the shark cordless MSE deal with pet tool & anti hair wrap. Am tempted. Do I need it - yes after falling on the stairs carrying my corded shark. The cordless one can remain upstairs. Cordless will be easier going from bedroom to bedroom where there isn’t always a spare plug in every room.
Can I afford it - yes if I use savings and replace them over a few months / with Christmas present money.

Only question is should I wait until Black Friday?

Will have a look later tonight.

  • Sorry, the warmth came up here this morning, 8° when I looked.

You could do with experimenting with the slow cooker while in the house. Learn how much water / stock is needed to do chops and veg, instead of a soup / stew. Herbs and other condiments go in near the end. It would be worth finding a good SC recipe site as even cakes can be done in them.

The deal might have sold out, there's been grumbles elsewhere about it. If they have restocked, do it, make your life easier and safer.

Glad Nelly went back when it wasn't really needed and you have ordered the shark which looks like a bargain.

Hope it's not too cold today.

  • It is milder today & no frost. Cloudy / blue sky but not as sunny and bright. Have walked the dog and later I am walking to the local town shops with my house selling friend. I think we are going to get lunch at one of the cafes or wetherspoons. I just have a few things to get in £ land and we are going to have a look in the charity shops. Should be a good day 😊

Had a lovely day. Back & hips are aching after all the walking!

Stocked up on paracetamol & gaviscon in £ land. Also got some stick on numbers for the wheely bins. Had brunch in wertherspoons plus drink £6.

Had a mooch round the charity shops, there are about half a dozen, was shocked at some of the prices were the same as buying new from high street stores and not “known” labels.

DS’s gf took dog to forest before it got dark.

Food from freezer for dinner. May have batch cooked chicken curry and oven chips 😋

Well done on taking Nelly back (MF v good i had a giggle) and now you house an extra shark at a bargain price ..... that has made me laugh too. Hope you are feeling better and wishing you a lovely weekend, envious of your chicken curry. My mum and dad have just made me a curry and it has cheered me up too.

    Have a good day tomorrow.
