  • I know MF but when you cba to cook .... it’s tempting 😈

I received the £30 into my account today from my energy provider as compensation for not turning up to fit the smart meter. I transferred it straight into household bills account.

The phone charger I ordered has not arrived today so I have emailed the seller to find out what’s going on. I am still waiting for a reply.

Last months credit card spends now on my statement so paid off in full including dog food & patio furniture in the sale, all from monthly savings.

Friend gave me more beans from her allotment so I cooked & froze them. They are so much tastier than shop bought veg 😋

  • I know, that's why I have noodles in the cupboard as it's a couple of minutes pan to belly 🙈

Post seems to be all over the place again lately, hopefully it will turn up in a day or two.

Have you thought about growing your own peas, beans or runners? They require next to no attention, all I do is water them when it's been a hot day and leave them to take over their space. You could grow them in pots, upturned plastic bottle with a few holes in stuck in the soil and top it up occasionally.

    Well done clearing the CC.

  • I usually have noodles in my store cupboard and fake away stuff in my freezer but occasionally it just does not hit the spot 😆 As long as takeaway is covered by my entertainment budget I’m not too worried. (Apart from my waistline)😬

In the past I have grown beans on a net held up with canes and grown potatoes in a border & courgettes & also had tomato plants. Then I grew the border out & a local cat started coming into the garden & spraying on everything 🤢 it just put me off.

Next months credit card bill so far will have dentist fee £62.50 and phone charger £1.95. I’m so glad I save £100 a month into my household bills account to cover these things.

  • I try not to think about natures deposits when growing!

With fakeaways I fully understand, supermarket pizza, burgers, pies etc just can't match a takeaway 🤭

Hopefully there'll be no more expenses, just fun this month.

  • It was dark just after 7pm last night and it’s still dark now & the wind is howling. Sounds like winter ! Hopefully it will brighten up soon & the forecast is dry all day.

My new phone charger turned up at 5.20pm yesterday. I have never known RM post to be so late here. Anyway, it works 🤗 and I don’t need to turn the phone off to charge it anymore! Great buy for £1.95.

Plans to take the dog out for a long walk this morning to try and get rid of the work blues. Also need to cut the grass & scrub the patio.

The elastic in one of my bras has given up holding up 😆 I have been looking online and they are £8 each. I could also do with some new knickers. 2 new bras and 2 packs pants would be £32 but if I spend £40 it is free home delivery. I am thinking about it.

  • It feels much later now the nights are getting darker earlier.

Thank goodness your phone is sorted out, one less expense to cover. The postie throws me off as I think it's pizza junk mail getting delivered not normal mail! I wonder if it's Christmas shopping starting to slow them down.

I would buy the extra, long term it's saving money as one less item to buy and less wear on all the others due to a bigger rotation. Alternatively, keep it to one side as a replacement.

  • I have been out with the dog and had a lovely walk. Still loads of apples on the trees and blackberries. It’s cloudy & cooler with blue sky & a nice breeze. I’ve just got some washing finishing to hang out.

I have been through my cupboards & the fridge and freezer and come up with a meal plan which should avoid me needing to go shopping until the end of next week.

    Breakfasts
    2 Crumpets & dairylea
    2Cottage Cheese& pineapple
    1 Egg on toast
    Marmite on toast

    Lunches

4 Ham sandwich (frozen rolls & individual slices of frozen ham) for work days

    Tin tomato soup

2 Cheese & onion quiche (frozen)

    Chilli & rice (ready meal)

    Chicken Kiev & veg rice

    Dinners

Ready meal Lasagne & garlic bread

    Oven Fish & chips

2 portions Faggots potato & veg

2 portions Chicken fajitas & wraps

2 portions Chicken & peppers in black bean sauce & rice

I’ve just taken some chicken breasts out of the freezer to defrost so I can cook the fajitas and chicken in black bean sauce so I can have one portion for dinner tonight and freeze the rest.

  • Yesterday I cleared more from the shed & cut the grass. The dog then dug a big hole in the middle of the lawn when I had my back turned, naughty puppy ! DF is going to bring his rotivator when he comes to visit & level out the remaining border at the edge of the lawn / fence, so we can put down weed suppressing membrane (in my shed) and purple slate to match the other border. I will use some of the soil to fill the holes she has dug !

Been out for a walk with the dog it’s a lovely morning, blue sky & sunny but not too hot.

Plans today to hang out my washing that is just finishing in the machine. All food will be from stores. Will meet up with a friend later. Hopefully a nsd

  • Maybe PD is saying you should put plants in that section 😊

    Meals look good.

    Enjoy your catch up.

  • Dried washing out on the line today. Sat in the garden for a while chillin with the dog. Hoovered the hall, stairs & landing, my bedroom and the living room. Emptied and reloaded the dishwasher.

No reply from friend about going out. Am not really surprised, this one blows a bit hot & cold, see her loads then don’t even hear from her. DS & gf both off work at the same time for once so they took the dog to the forest later this afternoon.

Another friend messaged this evening to let me know her mum is in hospital after having a mini stroke, so chatted with her for a while. Last time I saw her she brought home made cake & we walked the dog & she was telling me how well her mum was considering she’s in her 90’s, it’s so sad and I’m hoping she will have a quick and full recovery.
