Awake early today. Fed the dog at 5am she has not been v well the last few days so is on smaller meals more often & no carrots/ treats. This seems to be working and she is still lively and drinking. If she is sick again later today we will put her on chicken and rice & if that doesn’t settle her she will be off to the vet.

Got a cup of tea and back to bed, managed another hour sleep. Will take the dog for a little plod soon before it gets hot. Nothing too long or strenuous for her, just over the road to the park for a walk & round the pond.

Then I will go into town. I will park a 10 minute walk away in the free zone & walk in. Taking clothes back to mat alan & I need some paper, pens & glue so will try the £ shop & wilko.

DS & gf bills money should come in today so I will sort that & savings later. I got a surprise further payrise this month & after checking it’s correct I will move that to savings too.

Surprise money is good, hope it is yours!
Poor PD, do you think it may be the weather making her ill. Perhaps she's not drinking enough to compensate for the heat and it's causing her to be sick.

    Enjoy town.

  • HR have confirmed it’s mine to spend 🤗

I have been into town & returned items for refund. I got paper and pack of pens £1 each in wilko then spotted some cushions in the sale £5 each. I’ve been after some for ages for the sofa in the kitchen and these are ideal. I will use the household bills account to cover the cost.

Popped to tesco on the way home and put £10 petrol in the car. Also got 8 cans pepsi max £3, ice creams 4 for £2 and a spatchcock garlic & herb chicken £2 off. Cheaper than the kfc I was tempted to buy! The chicken is roasting & I have some new potatoes simmering to make potato salad. Should be ready by 12 so I can have lunch before work. The rest of the chicken can be frozen for other meals/wraps.

I think it is probably something that the dog ate that has made her sick, she is such a scavenger! We have fans on, she’s drinking plenty of water & we give her ice cubes when it’s hot too. There are no signs of dehydration. She seems fine so far today

That's wonderful news and we'll deserved too 🤗

Your purchases are great and will keep you going a while.

Some dogs do have a habit of finding things the human eye misses. At least she's ok now which is a relief as we all worry when she's ill.

Was so glad to finish work at 6.30 last night. Sat in the kitchen with the patio doors thrown open & the fan on which created a nice breeze.

It was too hot to cook so I had some of the leftover chicken with a jacket potato (cooked in the microwave) & sweetcorn with Mayo. I’m glad I cooked the chicken in the morning with all the windows & doors open before the sun came round the back of the house (we are west facing).

It was lovely & cool at 5am this morning when I let the dog out & fed her. She was not sick yesterday so hopefully whatever it was has gone. Took her for a walk at 7am & there was a nice breeze. It’s going to be scorchio later 🥵 It’s hotter indoors than out so I now have the windows & kitchen patio doors open & fans on to try & cool the air. Puppy dog is flat out on the kitchen tiles. She enjoyed her walk & wasn’t over heated so hopefully she will be ok again today.

No plans today, will be resting & trying to keep cool. Should be a NSD.

We had all the windows open til gone midnight.

PD should be over her illness now if she's been ok for 24 hours.

Keep some water in the fridge for ease of drinking, the fan on and a cool / damp face cloth to hand. Should be able to get through the day.

It’s going to be another hot one today 30 degrees then hopefully it should cool down to 21-23 much more bearable. Slept with the fan on last night. Fed the dog early this morning and took her on the field for a little run around at 7am when it was cooler. She enjoyed rolling in the morning dew on the wet grass. My feet were squelching in my sandals but it was too hot to wear my wellies!

Mar mite (aldi version) on toast for breakfast. Looking forward to a roast later cooked by someone else 😆 and will use my £10 off voucher.

I’m just hard boiling some eggs for breakfast in the week and the washing machine is just finishing to hang out to dry.
