I’ve tried all the tips on utube & apple website including cleaning the charging port with a clean toothbrush but no life in the phone until DS’s gf found an old charger & I warmed the back of the phone up with my hairdryer 😆 The phone keeps turning on and off and is still not charging properly, shows 1% battery no matter how long it is charged for. But it is now turning on. Google states could be the battery but also could be hardware/ software issues not talking to battery. Not sure it’s worth paying to repair. All info backed up to cloud so I will try to get a cheap replacement handset.

I picked up the silver bangle I found at Easter from the police station as it was unclaimed after 28 days. Hopefully I can flog it and use the money to get a new phone. I prefer sim only & my current contract is unlimited text & calls & limited data which I never use up for £8.34

Can you take the back off and replace the battery? Old smartphones used to have that option, newer ones it's carefully disassemble it and hope for the best.
Well done reclaiming the bracelet, the money could potentially contribute to a new phone.

Skinty, it sounds like you have tried really hard to revive it I hope you can buy a replacement without it costing too much. They are so expensive.  :s

Trying a quick post before phone dies. It won’t charge past 1% and will work when plugged into power source but switches off when unplugged. I have ordered a new battery from bay of e £4.94 with all tools & free postage. It says genuine part but your guess is as good as mine but thought I’d give it a go.

Even non-genuine are fine, provided it's a good one and fits. Hope you get fixed up again soon.

New battery has arrived so I will have a go at fitting it later today. Phone was on charge all day yesterday but still only 1% battery.

Was so tired after work yesterday I ordered fish & chips delivery for tea. Medium cod, chips, curry sauce & can pepsi max £10.27. Paid from entertainment fund.

Really need to do some cleaning up today. Kitchen and bathroom are always kept clean but still only doing the basics. Rain in the forecast for the weekend. Plans are morning dog walks plus
mop kitchen floor & bathroom floor, hoover rug in dog room, hoover living room & hallway.

Should have plenty of food for the week. Today’s menu
b - mashed mackerel in tomato sauce on toast
    l - pulled pork wrap
    d - chicken stir fry
snacks - cheese & crackers, tinned peaches, apple.

Will try & catch up with everyone’s diaries later
