Got stuck on m1 today for 3 hours when it was closed after an accident. Just grateful it wasn’t me. Puppy dog has got worse as the evening has gone on so has just gone to the emergency vets again. Waiting for news.

Edit- more blood tests & anti sickness injection & she is home and much more comfortable. Note to self - must ring Pet insurance tomorrow !

Glad she is home. Poor flower. I bet you will really spoil her. The sun is shining here I hope you have a good day.

Really keeping my fingers crossed for PD.  Have they any idea what's wrong with her?  Gentle (((hugs))) to you both.  XX

Thanks everyone. She is being treated for haemo rrhagic gastro enteritis.

She refused breakfast but started eating around 11am little & often and drinking, so is showing signs of recovery. 😊 She has slept a lot of the day. Hoping a few days of antibiotics & probiotics and she will be getting back to normal.

I phoned insurance & have downloaded claim form.

I took the afternoon off. Was really tired after getting stuck in the heat for 3 hours on M1 yesterday when it closed after an accident & then another 2 hours driving home. Then puppy dog going back to vets didn’t get to bed until 2am and woke at 6am and couldn’t get back to sleep.

Worked 9-12 then had a walk to the co-op. Got milk & couple of ready meals reduced to clear. Beef hot pot and cottage pie £1.34 each half price & now in the freezer.

At least you know what's wrong with PD, boiled chicken and rice is ok for her to have while she gets better. Can be hand fed to encourage her to eat a little too.

Maybe you should have tomorrow off, or part of it, so you can get a bit more rest.

  • Thanks MF. She has recovery food from the vet & cooked chicken with her tablets hidden in it 😆

She was having none of it this morning, not even hand feeding. However hunger got the better of her at 11am, so feeding times will be adjusted to “as and when” she wants & little and often, while she recovers. She seems fairly stable tonight, no drooling shaking or vomiting so hopefully should now get some sleep.

I am glad she is eating and not shaking. How distressing for both of you. You have had so much to deal with. I hope she is on the mend and the  next few days will allow you both to recover as it is very tiring and worrying. Bless you both.

Thanks SW. What were you doing up so early.!!!

Puppy dog had a good night and is gradually getting back to her normal self 😁

I worked 9-3 then just took her across the road to the park for a gentle walk & change of scenery. We kept in the shade & there is a cool breeze. Didn’t stay out long but she was happy as Larry 😆 She’s now snoozing again.

I’ve just had the co-op cottage pie from the freezer which I bought reduced to clear. I’ve filled out the insurance claim form for vet & got DS to sign it before he went to work. Will pop it into vet tomorrow. Total cost for both day & night vet was over £1800 but hope most of it will be covered by insurance. The night vet said they would put in an online claim so just the one form for the day vets.

Am just going to have some ice cream and a snooze 😴
