  • Still feeling unwell today. I have decided to take some holiday for the rest of the week as no one is home I can relax for a few days. I have been sleeping on and off all afternoon and evening but am now wide awake :( At least I can have a lie in tomorrow :)

Good news today I finally have a payrise :j
Backdated for the year so far, just over £60 after tax/NI/ pension deducted, to be paid at end of September. Not a huge amount but every little helps ! I will put £50 into bills account to cover some house jobs that need doing in Oct when DF comes to stay.

Now that I am off work I don't need to buy petrol before payday. I called off at MrT express on way home & got red grapes on offer half price £1, pack 9 kit kats on offer 80p and a naughty ready meal came to £4.55. I just couldn't face cooking and fancied some quick comfort food but £2.75 was extortionate price :o Ah well, I have enough food to last till payday without shopping again before Monday.

  • Hi Skint yet Again, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully, taking time to rest will help. I think the kitkats will also help - I bought these yesterday :)

  • Sorry you're feeling under the weather Skinty. Try and make sure that you look after yourself and ACTUALLY relax, rather than doing the usual thing of "I'll just quickly do X, Y and Z. Kitkats and grapes sound like just the ticket! And the £2.75 ready meal is still way way cheaper than a takeaway or dinner out

Amazing news on the payrise, as Mr T says: "every little helps" :T
You just need to do it on a sunny day Pink so the roots take up the salty water...its forecast rain here all week !

Maybe this tip won't work so well then :rotfl: We definitely appear to be storming into a rainy Autumn down here, with no sign of sunshine!!

Thanks for the good wishes folks. Kitkats are definitely helping. ;)
Pink you know me too well !:rotfl:

I had a nice lie in today and rested most of the morning. I did a bit of tidying and washed 2 furry throws from the living room and dried them outside. Now they are freshened up ready for the temperature dropping in the evenings. After another lie down I also did a bit of shredding, nothing too strenuous :p

I ordered some silver butterfly stickers online for my bedroom wall cost £1.99 paid on my 2nd (not 0%) credit card and will pay off in full using my pay rise. Had a look at the £5 discount retailer in this weeks :money: email but everything I was interested in was not available in my size. Probably for the best ;)

Last time I ordered KFC online it took 2 hours to arrive and was cold. I got a refund and a £5 voucher. Earlier this evening I used the £5 voucher to order indian tandoori chicken breast chunks with roasted peppers tomatoes & onions, plus salad and mint sauce and a poppadum, only cost £1.50 also paid on my 2nd (not 0%) credit card and will also be paid off in full using my pay rise. I walked 5mins and collected from the takeaway, it was nice to get some fresh air.

  • Quiet day today. Did a few jobs that have been on my "to do" list for ages. Sewed holes in 2 tops. Both patterned and repair is barely visible. Fixed the lid on my wash basket.

Went online to EON to arrange a smart meter after receiving a red letter telling me to contact them to arrange a convenient time for fitting, only to be told no, I can't have a convenient time ! only 2 dates are available, both in November and time slots are either 8-12 or 12-4 neither of which I can do due to work ! Ridiculous ! Set off my anxiety again so sent them a complaint email, then had a lie down and a snooze :o

Felt a little better this afternoon. Have arranged to meet up with a friend tomorrow. We will go for a cheap lunch and maybe the cinema. Will use some of my payrise, so will try to keep costs down.

I was awake early this morning (5.30am) for no particular reason, but I got a cup of tea and emptied the dishwasher. Its still a lie in as I'm usually up for work at 4.50am ! I have come back to bed with the laptop and have been working out the budget for October. There is a large amount left in the budget as my new VM deal means this month is only £16.95 (was £51), then it will be £50.50 a month from November. Also this month I get my backdated payrise. I have earmarked £50 of this for house maintenance as there are lots of jobs to do when DF comes to stay in October.
Its pouring with rain now. I put the bins out earlier before it started. No plans for today apart from I am going out later for lunch with a friend.

  • Well done on pay rise & cracking VM deal.

However, I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE RESTING????? :rotfl:lol

(Skinty is the only person I know who doesn't rest in bed and rests by decluttering. :j)

I'm hoping you are feeling a bit better.

The list of things your father can do is great and will help ease some of the stress on you.

But we want you well. I am vvvv tired and I am going to do a lot of resting this weekend to recover.

  • Hope you get some rest too over the weekend SW.

Today I met a friend for lunch. We went to weetherspoons I had fish & chips & drink £6.49. Then we went to the cinema & watched Brad Pitt film cost £5. I put £10 petrol in car on way home as empty light came on. That will come from October petrol budget. Was going to put some in on Monday anyway as it's payday, but I don't like leaving it empty in case of emergencies.

Was supposed to be meeting friends in cost-a-lot tomorrow but it's been called off due to bad weather forecast. Not much planned for the weekend ... More resting :p
