Thanks for all your thoughts folks - it's a real pain in the butt but it is only a car..

DawnW - is there a reset button on your boiler you could try?
    AngelPye - appeal, appeal, appeal
    La E - cool bargains
Happy Kitties - hope the kitty news isn't as bad as you are imagining - but if it is, at least you can make sure kitty doesn't suffer more than is necessary. It's heartbreaking but that's the price we pay for having pets :(

Anyway - yesterday's list was almost all completed. So for today - I am being gentle with myself as I only realized at 1am, 3am and 5am how much yesterday seems to have taken out of me. Talk about feeling stoopid....
    So today:-
    • [STRIKE]Parts to go to garage for car no 2[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Siphon diesel out of car[/STRIKE] - no can do - they have put a block in the tank now so this can't be done. Out of the goodness of my heart I'll tell the scrappy man there's £40 diesel in tank - I'm sure they can get it out
    • [STRIKE]Drop DH off at bus station @ 6am for bus to city[/STRIKE]
    • Pick DH up at some time this evening when he calls
    • [STRIKE]Occupational Health call @ 10am[/STRIKE] - this went really well
    • [STRIKE]Await scrappy man taking away my car[/STRIKE] :(
    • [STRIKE]Print off £3 womble found the other day[/STRIKE] (not a patch on the £15 though :p)
    • Tidy house
    • Wash bedding - maybe a nice clean bed & bedroom will help sleep tonight.
    • Phone counselor arranged through work

Have a good day y'all - coffee calls

    Morning all,

Thank you for your encouragement. Yes I can appeal, which I will do but could do without having to find further evidence etc...all takes up time but will do it and found most of it this morning.
It's mainly because I earned a bit more before Christmas but I don't now and don't have that income now so hopefully they will look at it again. They also don't seem to take into account that owning a house isn't just mortgage payment (verses paying rent) I also have to have life assurance as part of my mortgage and house insurance. Which when it's part of your terms and conditions I see it as all counting as housing costs. Will see what happens. My petrol is also costing twice what I put in application (only had car a few weeks) so don't know whether to put that in appeal too.

Anyway need to be practical about it and keep a good firm grip on the budget. I just need to get through to the end of April and all will be good :)

    Today:
    *washing mountain
*all food from home and planned
    *NSD
*positive affirmations...will need to keep hold of these today
    *check DD and bank balance
*Survey experiment (not many about this morning)

Have a fantastic day! Tomorrow is Friday!!! :D

  • I just want to say thank you to everyone for their kind words, it means a lot.

My mum's cat has been transferred to my cat's vet who is a leg and bone specialist man. I respect him a lot because if I ask a question and he can't answer he will say so. He said this morning that leaving vet school he thought he knew all of the answers, but when u bring real life into play, it throws a real curveball.

He took my mums cat down for X-rays straight away but I knew it was bad Bec in 48 hours the mass had increased:(
It is a tumour and has spread to his left side aswell, but what they can't understand is why the cat is in no pain at all.
They don't know whether the bone cancer is a primary or secondary, they could do biopsies, said no which the vet agreed with. He is looking into a steroid used in chemo, but it is unchartered ground. It might work and slow the bone cancer down, but if it is a secondary cancer, the primary will present at some point. So we've agreed to that purely because the cat is absolutely fine in himself, jumping about, playing, eating fine, no pain and gives my mum more quality time with him to say goodbye, and it won't interfere with his routines
Said the minute he starts showing signs of distress, I will bring him to the vets.
My mum put the whole household on nil by mouth including herself until he was picked up for the vets. I have to say one of her other cats sitting at the window looked positively murderous about being denied his breakfast!

Planned for a no spend day except for cat litter but bought my mums cat some of his favourite treats, and spent more Bec of my daughter being with me who just threw things into the trolley......must remember to leave her at home in the future......she costs a fortune to run!

Sorry it's such a depressing post.....the highs and lows of life:(:(

Happy Kitties, sounds like for the worst to have happened at least your mum can spend time with the cat and the cat isn't in pain. Still horrible but pain free is definitely a small mercy. What a good daughter you are! Big hugs!

    Hi,
    Short list today:
*Decided not to go into town despite having the car to save more of my money for the weekend.....& remaining 26 days of the month.
*Not an NSD.....popped to post office to post a few things (all in recycled packaging).
*Went to indie village garden centre to buy some veggie seeds. I usually put in a big order to a national seed merchant but decided it makes more sense to support a local business & avoid postage costs.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Clean all of upstairs (just diluted Stardrops & washable cloths)
    *Did a few surveys.
*Finished sorting my seed box & put everything in otder of sowing.
*All free leisure today - a bit more Icelandic crime drama tonight, knit a bit more sock order (I want it finished by the weekend) & updated my blog.
