Hi,
Short list today:
*Decided not to go into town despite having the car to save more of my money for the weekend.....& remaining 26 days of the month.
*Not an NSD.....popped to post office to post a few things (all in recycled packaging).
*Went to indie village garden centre to buy some veggie seeds. I usually put in a big order to a national seed merchant but decided it makes more sense to support a local business & avoid postage costs.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Clean all of upstairs (just diluted Stardrops & washable cloths)
*Did a few surveys.
*Finished sorting my seed box & put everything in otder of sowing.
*All free leisure today - a bit more Icelandic crime drama tonight, knit a bit more sock order (I want it finished by the weekend) & updated my blog.

Thank you guys for your kind thoughts.
Feel like a washed out dishrag tonight, but was so happy when I got my mum's cat back home. I don't think he has long with my mum, but when I dropped him home, I waited for my daughter from school and he just looked so happy splodged out over the settle. What makes it harder is one of my own cats, her time is very close as well.
forgot to buy milk this morning so on the way home went to Tesc@s and wondered if I could do a FatVonD and arrive at YS time, we did 2 chickens-£1.70 each, some reduced cheesecakes and cream scones for 60p each. Ran some bits back round to give to my mum, one chicken now in the oven for dinners for my mum and the cats.
Hoping to crack on with the ironing pile tomorrow to take my mind off things as it is beginning to resemble Everest!
Thank you again for ur support everyone, much appreciated xxDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi everyone
Big hugs Happy Kitties :grouphug:
I'm not working job#2 tonight unfortunately - lots of cancellationsOh well, at least I don't need to go out on this dark and windy night...
I'm just catching up with a film I was watching last night when I fell asleep.
I bought a new kettle today - seems like such an expense (£40) - but it's a whistling kettle to sit on the hob so I can't see how anything could ever go wrong with it so I will have it for life now.
Tonight...I plan to:
- Clean kitchen
- Pack for w/e away visiting the parentals
- Search for energy deals
- YNAB
- Sort my bullet journal for Feb
- Finish a bit of crochet - just 10 mins to finish off
- Read free ebook
Crikey - that sounds ambitious for a Thursday evening!0 -
Bob - Yes! We are both big fans of Scandi-crime dramas. We're enjoying 'Case'.....though my favourite Icelandic tv offering to date is 'Trapped'.
La E - Yes, you are right about the kettle. Back in about 1990, I bought a big Le Creuset kettle on a trip to Meadowhall. I was a very naughty spender back then. The kettle cost about £50 give or take a couple of ££s.....& no, of course I couldn't afford it as I used to live pretty much permanently out of my overdraft. But.......I still have that kettle! It's on my hob right now. I reckon it's bomb-proof. It can be scrubbed up in the sink as there's no electrical bits to worry about & the inside comes up lovely with lemon juice to tackle the limescale now & again. So 27 or so years isn't bad for that spend, is it? And it's still in good condition (better than me!)

Hi all
HK lets hope the cat gets as long as possible to enjoy being spoilt by your Mum.
Busy day at both paid stuff, came home, got changed and dropped DS off at footie then went for a run. I love running and of course it's free but I have to be careful with my dodgy knees.
HM curry for tea, I had mine heated up when we got in. Need food shopping so I need to make a list.
I behind with my hours on job no. 2 so might have to work at the weekend. Need to make a plan tomorrow.0 -

Ooh thanks for letting me know foxgloves! It is a Le Creuset one - the 1.5l @ £75 down to £39.99 - I reckon it was a good deal and hope I can report back in 27 years!
I'm just suddenly a bit panicked by all my spending this week though - I also bought a handbag and I am also thinking about a dress I saw  What is wrong with me?! I really need to buy a whole new kitchen so I need to get a grip!
ETA - Actually - maybe the kettles aren't like they used to be. It's not got very good reviews on @mazon - everyone saying it rusts and the whistle doesn't work after a couple of months of use... Back to the drawing board/refund desk perhaps...0 -
This week I have managed
- Pay day, so paid all bill inc £110 off the CC as it is non paying month on Council tax.
- Set Payments up for next month save any charges
- My gas and electric is £200 in credit so I with withdraw the extra in March/April.
- Joined Pinecone for surveys, so hopefully it will be lucrative.
- Eaten at home and taken lunch to work so managed 4 NSD0 -
Happykitties - I'm so sorry to hear about your poor puss
DNMS - re bank details. I guess I'm just a bit nervy as I don't know herLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Didn't manage a great deal on my list today as the post arrived early - 3 parcels (comp prizes) and a letter from the hospital  I'm booked into see a surgeon on the 15th  so today I've been a bit distracted but I have
bought dilute vimto - saving me 25p per bottle on what I'd pay at Mr M's
bought 2 x 75p shampoos at Boots and rec'd the 200 points
bagged coins from DS's money boxes
made a list of freebies to collect from local shops tomorrow (some items will be handy for baby grandson)
put competition prizes away in present box
tidied purse and uploaded receipts to COS
Tomorrow will be a better day and I'll start planning how to keep all the balls in the air, let's just hope that DH and I aren't in the hospital at the same time cos that will really mess everything up as I'm being treated at one hospital and he's at the hospital other side of town, DS is full of cold, barking like a dog and stressed - trying not to say too much about hospital atm - sorry for waffling.
Night all, catch you tomorrow

Well done Ziggy! You sound like an awesome freebie finder/winner! I am guessing it takes a lot of practice and know how so I salute you! I have looked at the competition thread but feel a little overwhelmed by it but might have a looks again.
La E and Foxgloves. I am in the stove kettle gang but decided on a modern AGA one myself, tis beautiful and red and lovelyMine was in my splurgy days so £70 but pleases me so much and looks lovely on range plus I don't intend to have to replace it for many a year and use it so much so I refuse to feel guilty about it
Been reviewing budget...again. Survey experiment a little less successful today but washing, meals and NSD all as planned so on the whole a very good day.Happiness is wanting what you have...0
