Oh and today ended up a LSD...DD's treat day and I bought myself a tea as a treat to cheer myself up whilst out. Must write it in my budget because things really are as tight as that! Still, this too will pass...Happiness is wanting what you have...0

This is DHs worst time of year for his business. I save and plan for this but its always a bit of a worry. The good news is that I have done extra hours in job no. 2 which will help. The bad news is that we have a customer dragging his heels over paying a bill. The bill is only £137 but we need it. This customer has a nice house and 2 flashy cars which irritates me.
Anyway. Fed everyone with some ys pork loin steaks tonight and concocted a peppercorn sauce. Went down well. We dont often have things like pork loin steaks or whole chicken breasts because you need so much to feed us all - meat here tends to be cut up into tiny pieces and immersed in lots of sauce. Felt like a treat.
Heating is on full blast because I am feeling a bit sorry for myself and I just dont care!
Sorry about the slow payer. I had one today with a novel excuse...I hope you get that money soon." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

ClootiesMum, if you weren't feeling stressed and anxious beforehand you have every right to be now  Hope you can get it sorted swiftly.
HappyKitties I have two girls at the moment, both eleven (they are supposed to be sisters but they hate each other, I think the pet shop lied!) The most I've ever had at one time is four but, for many years, whenever I went up to four something would happen to one of them, like something was telling me I was only meant to have three!
I had one that had to be PTS because of a tumour but in her case it was a brain tumour so nothing they could do about it. It was terribly sad but in the great scheme of things I'd rather they go peacefully and painlessly like that with you knowing they have had a good lifeMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning everyone
Yorkshirelass - I hear ya sister! My OH has some clients who are the very same - they don't realise how much a £50 here and there makes a difference but it does to us - then by the time he has chased for it, it seems he should add another £50 on for all the extra work! Makes me mad.
Gosh Clootiesmum - sorry to hear that - hope you get the other car sorted ok.
Angelpye - definitely worth appealing about the grant - nothing to lose.
So...I have joined the YS revolution :rotfl:
- last night we got a full roast chicken for £2.25 (down from £4.50)
- stir fry veg mix for 26p (down from £1.70)
- potato salad for 18p (down from £1.20)
- I say I 'saved' £4.71 but the truth is that I wouldn't have spent it had they not been YS items:rotfl:
We did have a lovely chicken stirfy last night though and there is plenty for lunch too so that will save us further when we don't need to buy lunches today or tomorrow
Also at Ts - I used a £9 MOC and my top-up card saving an extra 4%
I'm enjoying my new way of budgeting - counting cash as spent as soon as it leaves my a/c - as I've got a bit more flexibility over cash spends - makes the whole thing a bit less of a chore... Might even start saving £2 coins again (that got a bit complicated in my old YNAB - kinda hard to explain...)
Happy Thursday everyone!
I'll be working job#2 tonight but not sure if any payments are due - don't think so... :think:0 -
Morning folks
Massive hugs to all that are struggling at the moment with cars and kitties and life xxx
Sorry for being AWOL - it's easiest to log in at work and type (I hate typing much on my phone) but it's been very busy the last few days.
Today I am working but not working. We have a management training course and had to do emotional intelligence tests. We aren't allowed to show our colleagues what we got yet but after subtle discussion, it tuns out we are all w@nk!rs
I'm not surprised by my scores, they show low empathy and poor stress management, with high cheerfulness and optimism. Sounds kinda right. I suspect it all ties in with the poor stress management. Essentially I avoid stressors because I can't deal with them!
Missing Crossfit today, but luckily the hotel where the training is have said that we can use the gym for free so some of us are staying afterwards to utilise it!
Mission:- B/D from stores. Free L at training
- Use today as lieu and swap for Saturday to save me booking it off
- Meal plan - this very crucial now as no food in house
- Pause veg box for while we are away
- Leave housework list for OH
- Stealthily purloin teabags etc from hotel
- OH teaching for an hour - £25 in the fun fund
- Crochet for commission. Must send the lady my bank details unless anyone can recommend a safer way? She doesn't have PayPal.

carrie why are you unsure of sending bank details? I often do for people who owe me money and never had a problem.
Morning guysclooties mum sorry to hear about your car. angelpye good luck with the appeal! yorkshiremum what a ballache and so rude of the people who owe you money!
Well working todayI really let my hair down the last 6 days and didn't do anything for work so feels like a real bind to be going to work for 2 days! Working pt is harder than I ever anticipated!
smalls for the day:
* checked banking and did a small transfer
* made madam's lunch - concoction of snacky bits that need using up. Oh will have ys hunters chicken and wedges (17p) and I will have giganti plaki made the other day with rice
* stick to diet - did terribly at this yesterday
* go for a run this evening
* submit overtime and expenses
* quick shower in a minute
* nip to Mr T and look for ys bread & use app to pay for 50 extra points
* dinner is turkey curry I didn't make yesterday
Ok that's all. Happy Thursday xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all
Bit of a drama here this morning, as the boiler appears to have stopped working, so no heating or hot water- or not from that source, anyway. Fortunately, we have alternatives in that we have a wood burning stove (not alight atm as it isn't too cold this morning) and an electric shower in the ensuite on the top floor, but could do without the extra expense  Anyway, OH has left a message for the plumber, so hopefully he will be in touch to let us know when he can look at it.
Apart from that, today I have / will:
Eaten more of the reject apples from the fruit bowl that I cooked the other day, for breakfast
One ebay parcel to pack
Must list some new things today
Must take some items to sales unit
Need to do some shopping, must make a list first!
HM meals, DS cooking tonight
Make a crumble to use up rest of cooked apples
Dusting downstairs, love the wood stove but it makes a lot of dust
Dog walks x 2
Must ring surgery later, as they tried to ring me yesterday, probably about test results
Anyway, time for more coffee before I get started!0 -
Morning all :hello:
Dawn sorry about the boiler, hope it's cheap to fix. I read your list quickly and two line steps merged and I thought you were going to dust the dog :rotfl:
Clooties mum sorry about your car
Ziggy hope you are ok today. Been thinking of you with all your appointments for you and family
My list today :
WFH
Meals from stores
Stick to diet - thanks for the reminder DNMS was good yesterdayalthough no exercise and other than short walk today probably not much here
Printed some free school resources for DD for a site I found online
Check banking, surveys, pad
Use blueberries from market for breakfast
Pick parcel up from list office
Message Plummer about date to fit radiator
Did washing overnight, is over airer indoors and radiators for when on later. Will use blanket on me whilst working and no heating.
Check back later. PF.0 -
Dawn hope your boiler is fixed very soon. Such a horrible worry.
Angelpye Sorry about your grant. Can you appeal the decision?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
