Oh FVD thats so exciting. I am envious, I am not really happy with my current work situation but cant afford to do anything about it at the moment. I am trying to focus on making the best of the two jobs that I have.
Taken DS1s little car for a run out today so he was paying for petrol (even though he hasnt passed his test so cant actually drive it yet!). Did 2 hours paid stuff, got some washing almost dry outside and we have been out so havent had the heating on.
Mum has given me some money in advance of my birthday so I am going to treat myself to some clothes. Have picked out a padded jacket, boots, dress and jumper for a total of £60. It feels very extravagant!0 -
Thank you all for the good wishes and, yes, if it didn't work out I could always go back to freelancing and I'd be in the same position I am now (except it would be later in the year when there's more work around anyway.)Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
I say go for it FVD, life is way too short, and if it doesn't work out at least you have given it a try:T
Angelpye I would have kept the fiver as well, but it's horrible what happened with your baby sitting money:(
Many thanks Bobarella for the hugs, my poorly kitty is guilt tripping me, she knows I'm sure as has started sleeping on my bed, something she never ever does.
My daughter is staying with my mum tonight. She wanted to take my mum some food in Bec she knows she hasn't been eating. Where she gets dropped after her driving lesson there is a T@ble T@ble nearby. My daughter went in and asked if she could purchase a take out dinner. I had even brought a plate with me.
They plated it and everything with their own plate said just return it next week and charged my daughter less.
Will drop the plate back next week after her driving lesson and my daughter wants to take a little something in to say thank you for their kindness.
Despite the bad, there is always good in the world:):):)

Morning All
Off to do a viewing, a meeting, then some cleaning in a while at work. I went yesterday too, and got utterly soaked on my bike. My arms were so cold they actually were stinging! Of course the rain stopped the moment I got home
Haven't had to do anything this weekend at home as I got it all done Friday. Yesterday we had to go and buy some bits for work from B&Q but got the cheapest solution possible after discussing with DH.
Im doing roast chicken today, and one of my son's friends is coming over too, so should be a nice afternoon.
Have a good one all.

Morning everyone
I have a sore throat again, it starts every Friday afternoon and lasts until about Tuesday. This has been going on since Christmas. I can only think that I have some sort of lingering virus and by the time the weekend comes I am so tired that it re-emerges. Its worse when I am in bed at night so I didnt sleep well.
Anyway - roast chicken for tea, going to make some muffins then will gently potter and prepare for the week. DS2 is at footie but he was partying last night so will probably not be very lively. He will need collecting from his mates house at some point.
Right, off to make some coffee and see if it wakes me up! Oh will read the electricity meter too and update my spreadsheets. Need to do DHs monthly invoices today, I know we have enough work to invoice to scrape through February.0 -
Morning everyone
Ooh, nothing to lose then FVD! You are right - that would be a whole new lifestyle for you.
What a horrible man, angelpye! Just think of all that bad karma he had coming to him from that day on!
Happy Kittes - that's nice of your daughter.
Yorkshirelass - hope you feel better as the day goes on and can maybe get a wee sleep if you need one.
I had a good wee day yesterday - you know my bag that ripped earlier in the week? I took it back for an exchange (couldn't get a refund as sis bought it for me with her cc) - so I had £45 to play with and got a pair of boots down from £180...to £90...to £45! Woop woop. Sis will be happy that she effectively bought me a pair of £180 boots for Christmas! :T This is v handy too as my other boots are letting water in - found this out in the middle of a field dog walking!!
Sorted M&D out a wee bit - changed their energy deal as it ends next week. Mum was funny - Dad asked what we were doing, Mum said 'changing energy deal', Dad 'Going with someone else?' Mum 'No, not with someone else - just a cheaper tariff with them'. 'WHAT?!' I interject 'Why would you not go with someone else if it's cheaper?!' :rotfl: What a different mentality!! Last year I helped her HALF her energy bills just because she had always been with the same suppliers - one for gas and one for electricity! Turns out that their current supplier is one of the cheapest so she was happy to stay with them. I've said I'll manage their online account so they could sign up for the cheapest deal rather than having to go onto another tariff and paying an extra £10 for the pleasure of them sending them a bill every quarter.
Mum told me they had no food in and we'd have to go out for lunch. I knew this wasn't true so I raided their cupboards and found fish cakes, chips, veg and salad - no one went hungry!
Also bought her a normal whole chicken rather than the ready-roasted kind and a few other bits. She is v happy with the little shop and now doesn't need to go shopping until later in the week. I am the expert at avoiding the supermarket for days on end :rotfl:
I'm going out with pals today. Dad has said he'll give me a lift so I'll save about £5 on train fare.
Need to check YNAB :A
Dyeing my own hair
Doing my own gel nails
Crocheted pal's baby a pressie rather than buying something
Oh crikey - sorry for the essay :rotfl:
Big love guys!0 -
Morning all
Late up, for me, only just showered and had breakfast
List for today looks like this:
Peg washing out on line Done, was worth doing as it dried a good bit. Will finish off on airer laterThe one really damp item, a bath sheet, can go on the bathroom towel thingy
Fold up washing dried indoors overnight, and put away airer Done, I just don't want it cluttering up the place during the day, it only gets put up overnight. I find it depressing to look at lines of washing all day and eveningNot enough to make me buy a TD though :rotfl:
Wash down the door OH repaired yesterday and prime the bare bits of wood. Can't paint it today, as DS is due back with his dog, which would no doubt launch itself at the wet paint, but we can get it ready to do when he goes away next (probably next weekend). Done, looks better already, although it is various shades of white atm
Make lamb tagine (from River Cottage cook book) for dinner, using food we already have. Run out of potatoes, so we will have couscous with it instead, which goes well anywayIn oven, smells yummy, just popped leftover crumble in to warm through too
Rest of HM leftover bread pizzas for lunch Done, all gone now, very tasty - I would thoroughly recommend this as a way of using stale bread
Prepare a shopping list for tomorrow, not planning to spend todaySadly ran out of washing up liquid, so had to pop to the corner shop
Bought some bread as well, while I was there
Dog walks x 2, free exerciseOH did #2 while I did a huge pile of washing up
Check bread situation, and make a loaf in the BM if low Bought a nice fresh wholemeal batch loaf from the corner shop
Pack an ebay item sold last night, ready for posting tomorrow Done, ready for posting
Tidy up sales stock which seems to have taken over the dining room again  Done, put some items ready to take to sales unit tomorrow, some things not listed put away in loft
Prepared RM surveys items for the coming week
Listed a few more things on ebay - no sales yet thoughPut listed items away where they can be easily found
More coffee first, I think!0 -
DMS, you mean when I lost my money? No, I lost it whilst I was out and when I retraced back to when I had last used the pocket I had it in...it was clear what had happened.
Still, I didn't learn from it, I put money in my pockets and leave my bag undone all the time...
The stealing from you at work comment was for crazy cat lady. Sorry for the confusion
no I meant for cat xDF as at 30/12/16

Question for gardening gurus amongst you..... Whilst sorting yesterday I found my lovely seed tub (well a repurposed washing powder tub;)) with loads of unopened seeds in. They are all out of date, some dating back to 2009
will I just need to bin them or is there any chance they will germinate (they are dry) long shot I know but I'd obviously rather not bin. TIA
I'm hoping bad karma has followed that horrible man that took your money angelpye and just think the £5 is part way compensation from the world on that score
Sunday will look like:
Run at gym using membership
Last of fresh blueberries from market for breakfast. Have lasted well and was impressed with quality for low price
Investigate making yogurt Getting through it at a rate of knots at the moment and I'm sure it could be cheaper (even though only buying value)
Take girls to cinema from fun money, take in snacks and drinks
Roast dinner from various stashes in freezer
Meal plan for next week
List some things on fleabay as had huge sort out yesterday after DH did same on Friday
Get ready for week ahead, sandwiches etc...
Right off to gym, check back later.0
