I think we may have been spending a ridiculous amount on brews, cakes, snacks, takeaways, lunches, etc as I seem to have nearly £300 still left to spend this month after all dds have gone out - not entirely sure how?! Do we always have this spare and just eat it?

It is very easily done unless you are looking at exactly where your money is going.

My DH won't take a packed lunch to work, he says he needs to get out of his office and be with other people, so he buys coffee in the library, buys his lunch from the Students' Union, buys more coffee from the staff cafe, and never has any money ! He can't understand it at all:rotfl:

Sheepishly confessing to sending up another flare - had to buy some (claimable) bits for the charity I volunteer for.... decided whilst I was in the shop to also pick up 2 x joggers for DS3 (he must have one very pointy knee - he gets through the right knee of all his jeans/ trousers/ joggers very quickly!!), some boxers for DS2 and froooobs for lunchboxes (having forgotten these over the weekend - thankfully had an emergency stash of 4 in the freezer) and yet more milk (always handy and I'd hate to run out) and shower cleaner & GPig muesli. Ho hum.... will update sig when I retrieve receipt from pocket :) Am hoping no more spends now until Fri (although I did return an article to a different shop for a £14 refund and sent off a parcel to Ziffit, so had money in as well as out ;))

Other than that we are still running down stores - there are great gaps appearing in places!

Finally got around to weighing myself so I have a starting point for one this year's goals :eek::eek::eek: Let's just say that debt repayment is going much better than the weight loss! :rotfl:

Anyway, today I am grateful for:
    * longer, milder days - Spring is definitely on its way! :T:T
    * beautiful daffodils in the garden - a bright splash of colour :)
    * not being at work! :D:D

Today I am grateful for the various swathes of bright croci I pass on the way to work, for having a good day at work, for a (potential) good offer for dad's house, for the warmth and sunshine, for my hm oaty raisin cookies.

  • Not sure when I last posted - Sat was a spend day as did some shopping for DD sleepover.

Sun I spent on a data transfer thing to try and get all my old documents etc from old PC.
Today has been a NSD. Still no sign of car bill......

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. Lovely sunshine
    2. My dogs (who just love walks - they are always so enthusiastic)
    3. Leftovers from yesterdays roast which I had for lunch at work and some for tea!

It was a NSD taking me to 10/15 :D I attempted a run home from work but only managed about 15 minutes before walking the rest of the way, shouldn't have done it as I knew I wasn't feeling great. Barely eaten anything all day due to stomach issues, seem to have eased a bit now though. Today I'm grateful for surviving work, feeling slightly better and a warm cosy flat.

Went to my Healthy Options appointment. Now have a start weight for my goals (bad but only 2lb off what I was hoping for, so haven't really improved or done serious damage in the last year). My heart age is 65 because of the proportion that is fat. Discussed diet - I am very knowledable just need to translate it into action and then stick with it.

I have a contact for the 12 weeks free SW + exercise class, diet sheets to fill in (what I have eaten each day), a 10 minute workout I can do at home and a website to look for more routines and next appointment in four weeks.

Walked from there to the infirmary, long queue for more blood tests. Good job I packed my book. Very hungry (quarter past 1pm and only eaten 1 of my 2 bananas) so succumbed to the lure of the 'friends' cafe and had a large baked potato (budget and healthy option) but also a piece of delicious carrot cake. The money goes to a good cause (I have also given small donations to Barnardos/ local mountain rescue and guide dogs for the blind in the last few days and I have something to go in the food bank box).

Walked home and as I had already spent money I called in for pasta as I noticed DS3 has eaten it all (bought 4 bags as there were only 4 on the shelf and they might - developing pattern - be going to stop stocking it and only have the more expensive one) and picked up a few ys salad bits.
£2.65 at the infirmary and £7.50 at Arseda.

    Going to sleep very soon.

Today I am grateful for seeing a lovely Morris Minor, for a lovely meeting with my HO Personal Trainer (he is gorgeous) and for blossom appearing on the trees in the infirmary car park.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Evening all :hello:
Welcome back Captain Abundant. Mothernerd has kept a close eye on us all while you've been away.
Just a quick one from me today as I've been to London and back. Spend neutral day as everything can be claimed back on expenses, but there's no getting my time back and I am really tired from the travelling.
    I am grateful for:
My lovely mum babysitting for me
My fantastic friends, on here and in real life
Not having to get up for work in the morning.

    Evening me hearties!

It's lovely to have landed at last. I'm half way through my review, so apologies for not posting tonight. I'll aim for a fuller posting on my day off on Wednesday... needless to say I'm loving reading about how you all spent your week, and that you took some time out.

    Today I am grateful for:
    • Returning to work to a lovely welcome
    • This thread - I am so inspired by you all... and it has helped enormously reading through the posts I have, to get me back in the right frame of mind
    • My dear Mum and Dad
    Today = NSD number 11

It's amazing how a week away from the forum feels like a lifetime. The internet at my folks is dismal and I just had my phone, so I abandoned trying to post. I did keep a track of my spends and NSDs etc, and managed to come home with money still left in the kitty. I really missed the structure of checking in and being in the group MSE-mindset though. Thank you all for your kind comments too... I've really enjoyed myself.

Mothernerd - a MASSIVE thanks again. I'm only part way through the posts, but you have been so inspiring and your feedback has been second to none. I think this month has definitely been a joint effort. Hugs!

Hang in there everyone else... I've not forgotten any of you ok. Great to be back aboard.

    ;)
