NST February Challenge : A Winter Voyage

Not a nsd today but it was planned. We were given a Northern Rail friends & family voucher to use so all got return tickets to Liverpool for £7 each - bargain! Went to the World Museum and Walker gallery - both free and lots of brilliant interactive stuff which my 2 year old loved
Spent £19 on lunch and £8 on drinks through the day so not too bad. My little man LOVES trains so was making us laugh with his excited little shouts " Oo! Oo! Another train!", "Wow! A railway station!"
Aiming for a NSD tomorrow, meals all planned and a day of DIY & garden stuff.
Today I'm grateful for:-
The amazing free museums & galleries we have (we always donate something though )
Getting to see the world through a 2 year old's eyes - everything is amazing
Having joined a local charity committee, I always feel energised & uplifted after a meeting.1 debt vs 100 days -

Hello all, sorry I haven't posted in a week. I had some trouble with my laptop and my mobile has run out of internet data. I have had 4 NSD's since I last posted, taking my total up to 11. Not sure if I could make it to 15 before the month ends but will give it a good try. We're down to our last £20 food budget so that might help bump up the NSD count, fingers crossed.
Will have a lot of pages to catch up on, you've all been busy.
Tonight, hubby is on night shift for the first time in so many years, neither of us could remember when was the last time. He used to be on permanent nights when I was a stay at home mum, looking after the kiddos but when I started working again he went back to doing just dayshifts. He says if he likes it, he might ask his manager to put him on permanent nights again to speed up the 3-6 months emergency fund and save up for the much needed house renovations. That would also mean he would have much more spare time to pick up extra/overtime shifts. Here's hoping for the best."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -

Returning to ship after half term shore leave. Need to make headway for the remainder of the month to make sure I don't drift too far off course.
I know I don't post often but can be frequently found wandering around the forum reading numerous diaries absorbing information and trying to apply where appropriate.
NSD are now standing at 10 and monthly target is within sight.
This is the first month I've ever given myself an actual budget for groceries/spends and I'm finding it a positive productive experience. As a household we've up to now lived within our means but known changes in circumstances, and income, for the upcoming year need addressing sooner rather than later.
Grateful for
getting 2 lots of laundry washed and dried outside today

Always seem to be a day behind as posting in the morning seems easier. NSD yesterday and hopefully one today. Was inspired to make banana bread but somehow got baking powder and bread soda mixed up so didn't exactly go to plan  Oh well determined to make it now so will keep back a few more bananas for later in the week. I will not be defeated by my questionable baking skills :rotfl::rotfl:
Today am grateful for
Being able to afford a holiday with best friend, know I am privileged to be debt free and on a reasonable wage to allow these treats
My aunt getting the all clear on her first scan after chemo
Getting set of drawers at work so will be able to keep supplies or any day I forget to bring food. Of course now it means I have to tidy my desk as can't use the no storage excuse any more :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
WOOHOO!! An overdue NSD yesterday for me.
I'll also put my neck on the line and say that today will be too - at least I hope so.

I didn't realise I'd stopped another leak 2 weeks ago :rotfl: by cancelling another subscription. Too late for the next quarter , but that's £138 I don't have to find for stuff I don't really want...
Heading towards an NSD today and one on Thursday; low spend tomorrow as heading out for a drink with a friend to have a natter and return a book.
Grateful for:
Patient people at the end of a phone line sorting a cancellation.
Patience to repeat small actions to get a result.
The Johnny Cash song, "One Piece At a Time".‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
"It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.” David Lynch.0 -
I am flagging today. Tired and impatient to get my debts down. Broke for a few weeks yet. Trying to postpone joiner until next week.
Have we arrived at shore yet? Need a sunny deserted beach please? Well with a waiter would be nice.
Oh well manage a SFD today, even though I could probably do with some milk, hang fire until tomorrow. Tonight's tea leftover ham, cauliflower cheese and frozen roast potatoes.
Grateful for
Brilliant gig last night really really good.
Got through heaps of work today

Was so tempted to go out for a brew and cake today for a pick me up. Dropped my little boy off for his first taster nursery session. It's only 2 hours but I'm feeling emotional! I've come home for a coffee and the last gingerbread dinosaur instead and a browse on here. Will have to bake something to replace them now for when I need a treat
I think I've got stuff in for bara brith but need to soak the fruit overnight first. Also got some overripe plums in the fridge so thinking crumble for tonight
Well on track for a nsd day.
Calling14 - I'm impatient too now I've got into it. I'll have £300 spare come payday and I can't wait to put it on my cc.1 debt vs 100 days -
