    Afternoon Crew

Well, after his shore excursion with his friends yesterday, C has been confined his bunk for most of the day with seasickness (!!**??) so my shore leave was cancelled. The Cabin Boy has gone off to work but I think he might have been better to stay in sick bay as well.

So one week into the voyage and first weigh in. 3 pounds lost. How good it felt to update my signature with that one! Feeling really motivated now so hope I can keep it up (1 pound a week will still do).

Bought some YS fish (very healthy) so as I didn’t buy anything else I’m going to claim it as NSD. Had my walk and still no alcohol.

Have done all the washing (don’t know where it all comes from). Really need to get into some serious cleaning and clearing tomorrow.

Dia Pita – Well done on the weight loss. That’s fantastic and I love your recipes. Wish I could bake.

Thriftlass – Isn’t it strange. Things jump off the shelves into my shopping trolly as well but only when C is with me.

    Today I’m grateful for;

    Keeping off the snacks and alcohol, keeping up the walking and the resulting weight loss (not a lot but it’s heading in the right direction}
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Not a NSD as I spent £2 on 2 drinks on way back from work. I walk up a very large hill to my car and I was overcome by thirst. (Walking quickly has it downsides!) long journey home (1hr) so got me and OH a drink. Regretting that spend now but I the time it felt like I really needed it!

Tomorrow and Friday must be NSD

    1) I'm grateful for work thinking I'm capable of taking on more work/helping train people
    2) I'm grateful to OH making dinner tonight
    3) I'm grateful for the flexi I built up yesterday because I left work 30 minutes early! :)

Aggggggh. Epic FAT day. Budget blown - pizza, red velvet cake, gu tarts. All YS but all unnecessary - £14.18. Hangs head in shame:o
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18
    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Thrilled today as found out that I have some back pay coming to me. Colleague in same role mentioned their take home pay and made me look at mine. Turns out I was placed on the wrong pay scale when I changed roles 6 months ago so little bonus in Feb pay cheque and extra £100 a month going forward. So happy, think I will start an account for house deposit even though it is ages away from needing it always nice to make a start.

NSD today but unfortunately that is it until next week. Seems to be lots of little spends that catch me out and then the treats just jump into the basket somehow!! Will have to plan better for the rest of the month.

    Grateful for
Skype even if the connection is occasionally rubbish way better than paying for international calls
Slowly making a dent in the stockpile of toiletries
    Surprise pay rise (kinda!!)
  • Hi everyone
I'm a busy one at the moment, and still another whole week and a bit until half term. I'm just at that stage of the school year where I can't see an end in sight and I feel like I'm working at a million miles an hour and getting nothing done. This week is the middle working week of the school year, so in theory it should get more straightforward. It won't though. Not until at least May.
Not much else happening other than for some reason I've gotten a new found determination for reducing spends on food. I seem to be leaking cash there, and it's got to stop. I've gotten the kids on board and told them we can use money saved to do something during the hols.
EE - sorry to hear about the washing machine and the car - hope it's not too costly in the end. Good news on the food epiphany though. It's amazing how much time can be saved with less cooking.
Congratulations on the pay rise ChasingSunshine.
    Today I'm grateful for:
    My new boss (again)
    leftovers for dinner
being snuggled up with the cats

    Hi All

    Hope everyone is well.

    NSDs 2/15

    Gratitudes

    1. A lovely couple of hours out chatting with another Mum from school. It was blooming freezing at the park but we had fun, the kids got some fresh air and I was treated to a nice coffee, which was much appreciated.

    2. DS having a great day at school.

    3. DH lending me his Snood ;) it is so warm :)

Need to buy 2 x alarm clocks for DS3 & 4 at the weekend- they are now too old for Mum to come and wake them up in the morning, they want to do it themselves and alarm clocks are obviously big boy things (to them anyway).

I could weep with envy at this statement Foxy my DS is 8 and now gets up and goes downstairs to watch TV when he wakes at 6am everyday. But until recently one of us had to be awake with him each morning. I don't think we have ever had to wake him.And I am not a morning person:eek: he has even commented to me recently along the lines of how I look rough in the morning and am barely alive :rotfl:

I have to buy the alarm clocks at the weekend, not that they need to wake themselves up at the weekend! :rotfl: I get up at 6am to make lunchboxes, stick the dryer on with the day before's washing - as it is much easier to get smalls to put on pre-heated school uniform than them having to get it out of a drawer:o - and have a cup of coffee before someone asks me a stupid question. 6am-7am is ME time. It used to be 5am-7am but I have got lazy.:)

So DS1, 3 & 4 will have their alarm clocks going off at 7am, and I will still have to chase DS2 around his bed with a rolled up newspaper three times from 7am, as he is 'special' and cannot use an alarm clock as it offends his sensibilities to be told what to do by an inanimate object:mad:.

I put DS3 & 4 to bed at 7pm, cos they are just going to chat, and read under the covers, and do sneaky stuff, so they probably don't get to sleep before 8, but at least they are in bed and get 11 odd hours sleep a night!
Sadly DS 1 and 2 are pushing it right now. I keep finding them still reading/watching rubbish on the phone at 10.30 when they go to bed at 9. Might buy them an alarm clock too as I think I will ban phones from the bedroom after 9pm.

But I neeeeeeed if for my alaaaaarrrrm is no longer an option.

I will no doubt be branded a 'Time-Fascist' now as well as the traditional 'Techno-Fascist'.

I am not only a disgustingly cheerful bouncy morning person, I also sing ridiculous songs and do dance routines until people get out of bed. If I were not enjoying myself so much and amusing me, I might even say I must be a total nightmare, but I am enjoying myself and it is not my fault these ridiculous people need so much sleep. Foolish mortals!
