Yes, I agree all different and a complete range of reactions at different times. We walked to the garden of a neighbour this morning after they called to say they had some leek seedlings for us - so combined it with a short stroll. We both went and everyone was more than 4 metres from everyone else. She admitted to feeling unusually emotional and tearful some mornings - something that never normally happens to her (practical sort). I confessed that although I think I am doing OK I wept like a baby at the end of Gardeners World on Friday night - I knew and had read and watched a clip online, but hearing Monty Don and then cutting to the clip did for me. So while I am not fretting or waking in the night, I am conscious that my emotions are a bit closer to the surface than usual. Conversations with one or two others who are on their own - yes all different and a range of reactions - one angry and lashing out.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Well my shopping list is done - with DH planning his expedition for this afternoon to include the butcher (pre-ordered so queue and collect), the health food shop, the bank (a cheque I have had for nearly two weeks) and the SM. I will be able to reallocate the alcohol and salty snacks to the entertainment budget
but I am expecting it to be big even without this as we have not shopped for two weeks. All the drawers in all the freezers slide more easily and we are down to onions, horse-sized carrots, sweet potatoes and frozen veg. Just lemons (used to make elderflower cordial) and milk & cream top ups so we have done well.
I might have to make broccoli and stilton soup... found loads in the freezer.
Money wise it is going more slowly but I have had to buy 3 t-shirts and 3 pairs of tapered trousers as mine all have holes in (combination of grabbing by thorns in the garden as I prune and paddling by cat(!) - and some just wear out) - well those are my excuses and I am sticking with them.
Our Victoria plum tree is looking a little sad and I'm not sure if it is bacterial canker or frost damage. You cannot buy Bordeaux mixture any more but you can make it, so I have ordered the component chemicals and will make a very small amount to paint on branches. As I also have what looks like powdery mildew on the big rose, it is possible as I think the fungal spores are basically the same. I don't want to lose either if possible.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

SL I banked a cheque last week as I was finally able to deliver a chair I got the go ahead for the weekend before lockdown began (and then sat in the hallway once finished until the easing) & got moaned at for going into the branch by the teller & told it could have been done at the hole in the wall so hopefully DH is aware of this option. I also had 3 old shape pound coins that dropped out of another chair i've started during lockdown that needed banking which wouldn't have gone in the hole in the wall but she wouldn't be told- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
- Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps5 -
I know you don’t do banking apps SL, but you can pay in on some of them - HSBC/FD and Starling at least. Might be worth considering, even if just to pay cheques in and then transfer the money out.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks both, I know I could if I use my phone but that doesn't have any proper security on it so I choose not to. I do use online banking and I keep an extra account in the neighbouring town with a branch, especially so we can pay in easily and then I transfer once they have cleared. I picked up a few paying in envelopes so we are OK for the small numbers of cheques we receive. In the end I delayed asking DH to pay it in as my Mum has sent a cheque for DS's birthday in a week or so's time so I will bank both cheques at the same time.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Well we did it! We dug out the 1.5m wide clump of agapanthas from beside the kitchen and the patio. It took three of us and the one not from our household kept working on his own when the other two stopped and vice versa until we got them. I have given away a trug full and have a collection of pots to fill this morning before it gets too hot, with two more people expressing an interest. The whole digging thing was monstrously complicated by the proximity of the wall so you could not get in there properly for leverage from the back. The build up of matted roots makes it clear the space had been outgrown. There were only three young flower spikes so hopefully we won't have messed up it's cycle too much. Physical distancing might have been compromised once but we really tried to be sensible.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I love Agapanthus but it grows like wildfire here in Cornwall. I have discovered it blooms more in a pot but if left in the ground we get loads of leaves and not many flowers. I have to be careful what sort of pot I put it in though or it is difficult to get it out and split it. Apparently they like being crowded.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
