Suffolk_lass said:enthusiasticsaver said:Suffolk_lass said:Money is at that plodding point. So dull. I am resisting the urge to overpay the mortgage at the moment and letting the money build up a bit in the instant saver but I can't let that go on for too long. I might have to buy some premium bonds or something as the interest rate is less that 0.01 now. I can't put it in a long term option (as much as 0.8% woohoo) as it includes our emergency fund. I suppose I could put half in there... decisions, decisions
I have also been trying to open a Britannia BS cash ISA - did it all online then they posted forms to me to sign. Sent them back and got them back again a week later - same forms, same letter, another blank Cash ISA transfer form (I had written not applicable on the first) no work of explanation - sent it back again and wrote across the transfer form that the account I identified to transfer from is not an ISA account, it is an instant savings account within the same (Coop) banking group. I added a separate A4 sheet suggesting that it would be helpful if they wrote what they were expecting that I had not done, rather than anonymously sending back the identical paperwork as I could not identify an omission or mistake. Still not actioned. Almost a month's interest missed out on now.
DH did not buy everything on the list. He missed out chocolate Noooo! Actually probably a good thing.

Well we had a lovely day, although our morning walk meant we missed the bit where the red arrows flew over the Village en-route to London at some point just before 10.00 due to being in a vegetation tunnel. I did consider running through the trees but I have seen how many bears dogs sh** in those woods - so we heard but did not see.
We dawdled so we were near the Church at 11.00 and joined in the churchyard with other Village families for two minutes silence, with others outside their front drives. A bit of distance chatting to catch up and then someone ran up their decks outside with a medley of 40s music that we could all hear. Lots of bunting.
My friend cycled over at 3.30pm for her exercise and to collect eggs and DH had set up the garden with three tables and two benches so we could sit apart and have afternoon tea. I opened a decent bottle of DOCG Prosecco as I know she appreciates good Italian wine and so do we. We did not abuse the situation and after an hour she set off back to conclude her exercise but it is the first time she has eaten with someone else through the whole time and I know it mattered.
We also popped more flour and a sunflower to one of our neighbours who is posting bread to her parents and BIL in Scotland. How lovely!
And we delivered two afternoon tea packages to neighbours (one was anonymous as a key worker was out until 23.00). No gardening!!
Will need to get back at the nettles and get some more St John's Wort and Shasta daisies out of the borders where they should not be before the weather gets cold.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I bet it is and I’m not sure they’re guaranteeing it at the moment! But lovely idea and I’m sure much appreciated.

We like it. When we moved to a Village, we were keen to be part of things. It took a while to slow my expected pace of delivery and some things I think could change for the better have not done so (yet). It seems funny saying that but ideas need supporters otherwise you alienate people (as one couple have done near us).
I am going foraging for elderflowers to make cordial this morning. Lots of boring admin stuff to do too.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
