The economics of full EV are as unattractive to Ikea as they are to Joe the public. Hence Ikea won't be doing this anytime soon.

I seem to recall some news that the different batts in the TM3 were not only better, but had far, far less vampire drain, well this article seems to suggest something in the region of 1.5miles/day loss. Not bad?

Mind you, it was testing a year ago...

Oh, wait. Production slipped to "in 2020" a few months ago.

Meanwhile, as an evangelist of the concept of EVs rather than a cheerleader for any one brand in particular, I think you might have forgotten to mention that Mercedes' Freightliner have started customer deliveries...

Recent really detailed bit of journalism that confirmed every lurking suspicion I've had about going EV.

Times is paywalled but seems you can read an article per day.
And despite some UK fanboyism about Tesla, there are many horror stories about getting any kind of after sales service. Like an 8 month wait for a front windscreen.
Most of all that article highlighted how disjointed UK policy is with absolutely no prospect of our EV infrastructure improving or standardising for the foreseeable future. Stark contrast with Norway, Holland, China.
Looks like I'll be sticking to a lifelong policy of running straightforward manual non-turbo petrol cars on a 'bangernomics' basis for another decade at least.0 -

Looks, too, like the "Batteries don't degrade" claims are starting to be quietly rolled back.

Considering that there are manufacturer published cycle tables, lifetime expectancy data etc as well as plenty of ongoing test reports being conducted by actual users, I don't really follow why you'd think that batteries don't degrade ... maybe you could provide your source!
Anyway, the article you reference as being related to loss of battery performance doesn't seem to support the conclusion raised as it's software related (clue is sudden loss on range after software update!) ... most likely raising the minimum charge threshold to extend overall battery life if the vehicle is often left parked in low charge conditions, but the reason will likely become clear before long! ....
