Tesla is launching Model 3 RHD next week, starting with the UKTesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the automaker is going to launch the Model 3 right-hand drive (RHD) next week. They will start by opening orders in the UK and expand to other RHD markets from there.
Over 18 months after first launching Model 3, Tesla is finally going to bring to market its right-hand drive version of the electric car.
Musk tweeted yesterday that the order page is going live next week:
“UK Model 3 order page goes live next week, followed shortly thereafter by Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.”
He said that it will happen around “May 1 or 2.”Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

With deliveries starting when?
Probably commencing around 6 weeks after manufacture considering the shipping distance ... I take it your interest is based on conversion to the EV cause and a strong temptation to get an order written into the book? ..

Patience grasshopper, you'll get to 'lick one' soon enough. But be prepared for disappointment as it's sadly built on a BEV specific foundation, so not as good as your 'modified ICE compromise' preference.Mart. I really want to get an electric car as my lease has now run out, but manufacturers like making them look ugly and they need a garage/offroad to plug into so its petrol I guess!0

If you had a 24kwh Leaf you could get to work and back twice on a charge, never need to visit a petrol station again and potentially reduce your fuel bill by over 75%. You'd pay less tax, less maintenance and have much better performance.
I'm not sure there's any good reason for someone with your commute to buy a £10k petrol car over a £10k EV, unless you don't like the car itself. The only reason I don't have one yet is that the ones big enough to haul my kids and their crap around are still out of my budget.
As an aside at my office there is a handful of charging bays, they are always fully occupied from early in the morning onward, never seen a vacant one. Probably occupied by people with company car schemes. Haven't enquired how payment works as the bays belong to the business park, not my company. So the idea of topping up a hybrid at work to get electric fuel for the whole commute is also unattractive. The underground section of the parking which is 95% of it, has yet to be touched by charging bays. The equipment is too bulky I suspect.0 -

If you want to 'look normal' surely the eGolf is for you. And depending on mileage and charger convenience, charging at public chargers might work - whilst shopping, at work etc.
Petrol cars wouldn't have been very convenient before all the petrol stations popped up, and you don't fuel your petrol car at home either.0 -
Expecting the cheapest model to be around £42k with black paint. The $35k model isn't available in Europe.
Having said that they may start with the even more expensive models first.0 -
Model 3 ordering open now.
Cheapest model is the Standard Range Plus. Price is £44k including tax. Subtract the £3,500 grant and because the tax is deferred you pay £38,900.
Tesla's sample Hire Purchase offer is £710/month for 60 months, not including the £320/year luxury car tax.0
