This car seems to be getting nothing but praise from all the You-Tube channels that I trawl through. Nice car, quality, package and price:

Hyundai Kona Electric Gets 258-Mile Range Rating From EPA
    Hi

As Norway seem to be pretty far ahead of most in EV use, I tend to check out the You-Tube ramblings of 'Bjorn Nyland' so a couple of weeks ago I watched Part1 of the Kona review and still have Part2 queued up to view next. From what I've seen so far it looked quite interesting & would likely give the UK EV sector a pretty big shot in the arm .... as long as supply could keep up with demand!

We just don't have the infrastructure yet for fully electric cars. As I tend to stay in the London area I decided to save my self a fortune by buying an electric scooter instead of a car. I tested the Bird one in California and absolutely loved it. Ive bought one and I have been riding it everyday to work in the city. I seriously suggest getting one of these and ditching the car if your based in London. its a Practical alternative to car and bike for journeys up to 18.6 miles. It avoids congestion, reduces noise pollution, reduces air pollution and costs me (approx. 17p per 80 miles).
I love it ! so much fun ..
i got mine from BACK to the SCOOTER.fun ( MSE tip currently there is a deal for 50% off accessories when you buy it) I wish I'd got one earlier, we both have one now and our days out start by avoiding congestion which make all the difference. I cant rate it highly enough. A Transport solution for london for less than £500 ..
I also like Tesla but I'm gonna need a bigger budget..
    Hi

Are you using the scooter on the pavement? ... if so you're probably breaking the law! -or- is the scooter road legal? .. in which case a £500 price tag seems remarkably cheap & surely further costs related to tax & insurance need to be considered!

Without doubt the best EV that will ever be built, I love it. [I'll leave any on-line criticism of Russians and arms manufacturers, and Russian arms manufacturers to those folk braver than I. ;)]

Kalashnikov takes on Tesla with retro-look electric 'supercar'

PS To get to the complaints department you have to get passed an 'ED 209'!

Hopefully as good as it looks,

mine is being delivered 10th Sept. 64Kw Premium SE, will make the 280 Mile commute to London and back a no stop journey on days where I cant get on a street charger in London, (Currently in the Zoe 41kw if I cant get on a street charger I have to stop for a rapid charge on way home)

Range in the Kona is looking really good, with the EPA at over 250 (which is normally equivalent to Motorway limit driving), and the real world test showing it easily able to exceed 300 miles when in slightly slower 60mph range.

They are calling it a game changer, leave home with 250 to 300 miles, top up on at up to 100kw.hour add 80% battery in 45mins. so another 200 miles.. 500 miles runs with a single 45min stop are finally doable, giving the 3times the price teslas a run for the money.

It is a game changer, the motors are as powerful as used in other EV's such as the Jag (Kona just has the one though)
But it does make you wonder how the Jag managed to cost 2.5 times the Kona for a shade bigger car, one extra motor and a bit bigger battery.. 2.5 times plus!

The Jag looks nicer inside, but dont think its worth the premium.

This will be our 4th EV, 2 BMW i3 1 Rex and 1 BEV, Followed by the Zoe ZE40 and now the Kona.

Looking forward to the extra power again that the i3 had, although the FWD delivery of the Kona looks a bit squirrly compared to the RWD i3.

Should not be as bad as the 180bhp Abarth 500 I had before the i3 thou

The i3 was a lovely car probably my favourite for many years just let down by short battery range

The Zoe is brilliant delivering 200 miles in the summer no issue but is a boring drive, and lacks power for overtaking on country roads etc.

So am hoping the Kona with its 300 Mile range is a best of both worlds car.
Over 100k miles of Electric Motoring and rising,

    Hi All

Don't think I've ever seen an ICE one of these towing a caravan either, but who cares! ...

Now, for most it's a choice between selling the kids or robbing a bank, but either way it's tempting! ...

I went out in an electric car for the first time yesterday, a Tesla Model 3. The acceleration from a standing start is unbelievable, I was shocked. I've been in some fast cars, this was something else

The interior was also v impressive. Literally just a steering wheel and a huge tablet which controls pretty much everything. Just a shame they're so damn expensive!

That's got me thinking. AGW made me put away my love for Murican muscle cars, and the Pony cars such as my beloved Firebird, but EV versions would be 'nice'!

Weight wise, swapping out those massive iron engine blocks and big ole transmissions would probably balance out, and shifting some battery weight to the trunk would save on needing two big bags of sand to help with damp weather traction.

Hmmm ..................... just the cost to consider, and no children to sell. :(
