I switched to Tonik in August and it was very smooth and straightforward. I haven't needed to phone them so can't comment on contact and response, but I'm happy I've switched to a cheaper and greener company so far.0

I agree with the comment above. We switched to Tonik in February after a torrid time with Iresa and the subsequent experience has been excellent.
Particularly like the updated balance immediately after sending in meter reads and the prices are competitive too. A couple of questions that I asked received immediate response.£20 commission for introducing other customers to them.
Taking into the experience to date/cost/customer service/green energy ethos we will probably renew with them when the present contract expires. Cost (within reasonable parameters) is important to us but not the only criteria.0 -
Yes great company...I also like the greyed in figures of their estimated readings.
And all green.0 -
Tonik have been great in the year I have been with them. Unfortunately their tariff has got more expensive compared to other small suppliers so I probably will move supplier. Peoples Energy may be an option, they are cheaper but don't offer a fixed tariff which increases the risk of a sharp increase (or decrease!).0

The only significantly cheaper tariff may be Powershop's top Shopper which is +6% higher than current BUT 1. rate is variable and 2. requires carfeful management. (But it might be fun...)
EDIT: Utility Point - never heard of them are coming up good at +10% for a 1 year fix but they appear to be a new company. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
Have just renewed with Tonik.
Prices are still very competitive, although not necessarily the lowest. But, and this is important to us, I rang up Tonik this morning regarding the renewal and the phone was answered within 5 seconds by Tonik and the query was fully resolved at the same time.0 -

Apart from incorrectly calculated DD rises (previously documented here), they have been good.
I am considering 2 alternatives for Jan change. Utility Point (8% rise BUT a fixed 12 month contract) or Powershop Top Shopper (6% rise but variable). The former are new and I'd consider a major risk(**) and the second I'm not sure if I believe their numbers.

Is a 19months fixed a good idere in todays energy market !?!?
Tonik Go Green (19 Months) no exit fee.0 -
Maybe Yes, maybe No.
It really depends on how much it is going to cost you when it starts compared to other fixes you could get.
In other words how much more do they want a year compared to the other 12 month fixes available to you?
Nobody knows the future but prices have been rising for the past year and show no signs yet of going down.
The good thing is that the tariff has no exit fees should you can switch away if you wanted to at anytime without cost.0 -
Have been with Tonik for a year now with no problems. Did a comparison to see if I should switch and Tonik were more expensive than some others, however, in my Tonik account I clicked through to a new tariff (it makes it look like you are signing up for another year) and found buried in there that they would give me a £50 credit for renewing. This was a deal breaker for me as it made them almost the same cost as another company I was thinking of moving to. Why don't Tonik tell you this when they email you or state it more obviously in your online account? They must be losing customers who don't know about this £50 credit. The £50 was credited to my account immediately for the new tariff keeping my direct debit at almost the same level it was before. With good customer service at Tonik there is no reason to switch.0
