That's it so far. I'll report any further progress here when it happens.

Email from the Ombudsman last night. As you may be aware, Tonik Energy ceased trading on 6 October 2020. As the company is no longer trading, it will not be in a position to carry out any action we may have required. For this reason, we have unfortunately had to close your case. This applies whether your case was awaiting investigation, being investigated or we had reached a decision and you were awaiting action from Tonik Energy to put things right. We appreciate that this will be frustrating and we’re sorry that we are unable to continue handling your complaint.Months of negligent management of customers accounts by Tonik and there is nothing we can do. Luckily my account balance is within a DD payment of my very rough calculation so I will wait for my final bill and the credit to be refunded and just move on - no more Tonik billing problems or worries . I have 2 x £50 referral bonuses from Octopus due in a week. They will go part way towards compensating me for this Toxic horror of a year.

This looks both professional and re-assuring: https://account.scottishpower.co.uk/solr/tonik-energyWe're taking responsibility for your energy from 10th October 2020 and want to reassure you that your energy supply will continue without interruption. You don’t need to worry if you are owed money because your Tonik Energy account was in credit. ScottishPower will honour any up to date, outstanding credit balance you may have with them and this will be transferred to your new ScottishPower account in due course or issued by cheque.
