Yay I downloaded the priority app and got a free coffee on Tuesday. I did not realise how excited I would be. But already looking forward to next weeks code :)

    Hi all
    - Exhausted: cancelled exercise class so NSD
    - FPL
    - Changed DD today so qualify for Blue Rewards. However got a message that the change hadn't gone through properly. So I'll have to call tomorrow
    - Took a packed lunch to work
    - Mended a blouse with webbing and sewed a button back on to get more wear out of it
    - Read MSE email
    - Called into boots to try and get the shampoo free by stacking the offers. But they didn't have shampoo that I wanted so aborted mission!
    - just looked at my topcashback account hoping to cash out some money and it says it's holding back money for my plus membership- I can't remember signing up for this, anyone else had this appear? Is it worth upgrading?
Think that's it for today. LP x

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I had my usual breakfast and lunch from store drawer supplemented with free cakes for various occasions.

Gave my contact details to someone moving to another mag.

I got the late train and arrived at the Mr T 5 minutes before final reductions. Mr Grabby man was already there and was systematically filling a basket (the ones on wheels like they have in the pound shop) to the brim with everything from the cabinet. Final reductions hadn't even been done, he just nabs it and then hands it to them from his basket when they come out to do the reductions at 7.30pm. He makes me so

I'm thinking of writing a letter of complaint to the manager. When I've spoken to them before I was told things could be reduced at the till as long as they didn't go into the basket before 7.30pm which this stuff definitely did. I'm going to ask for some clarification, either you're allowed to do it or you aren't and if they're not prepared to stop him doing it then I shall do the same [\end rant]

We ended up getting a Chinese takeaway, not money saving at all though I did save some chow mein for lunch tomorrow.

    Have a good evening all.

  • Ally well done on the car insurance, we found quotes varied hugely for DS1, just short of £900 in the end.

I am in, long day. Both paid stuff then parents evening. Did 30 minutes free exercise on the spinning bike. Ate up some leftovers for tea.

FVD I would be angry too, it just doesn't seem fair. Assuming Mr Grabby man doesn't have 12 kids what does he do with it all? There must be stuff that can't be frozen and has to be used fairly quickly.

    Right bed time.
  • FVD I would not be happy with Mr Grabby man at all. When I got my haul of YS items yesterday, there was me and another woman and we were respectful of each other and to each other. We both came away with a fair amount of stuff, so it was a win win:D

What a bargain with the cat food. Mine don't do with Fel*x at all, and were beginning to struggle with the Whisk*s but the Mr T food has gone down a storm....even better have further Mr T money off vouchers that I can use for the cat food:T

    Morning all :)
Up early so thought I might as well use the time to plan what needs to be done today :)

    • Ordered tomato seeds online, as we used the last few last year - we always grow the same variety, and it is not one that is easy to find in the shops. £2.68 spent, but there will be enough there for at least 3 years worth of tomato plants, and I find the seeds keep fine for a few years with a bit of care :)
    • Must go through stored seeds, and list what I have, and anything else I need to buy (fun job, this one :))
    • Put seed potatoes bought the other day in egg trays in the windowsill to sprout :)
    • Wash hair and allow to dry naturally
    • Dry washing currently on airer needs to be put away
    • Wet washing out on line if there is any hope of it drying a bit - it dried quite well yesterday :)
    • Ebay item to parcel up and post, and there is a RM surveys parcel as well
    • Pay a cheque into the bank while out
    • Pop into Mr S on a quest for wine boxes for packaging - they usually have vast piles, but the last few times I have looked there were only a couple :(
    • List at least one more item on ebay, relist those ending today
    • Need to look for a couple of birthday cards -will check my stash first, to see if there is anything suitable
    • HM soup for lunch
    • Cleaning - upstairs is most urgent
    • DS is away tonight and so is his dog, so will make the most of that and give the kitchen a really good clean (it is hard to clean a small kitchen floor properly with an enormous dog bed taking up about 25% of it :rotfl:)
    • Out tonight to a friend's party - Indian meal apparently, so that will be dinner sorted :)
    • Figure out what to wear - this always takes me ages :( but I ought to make a bit of an effort. Might need to iron something :rotfl:
  • Morning! Happy Friday! :j hurrah!

    Not much planned for me:

    * all meals from stores
    * grab batch cooked spag bol out of freezer to make lasagne
    * need to make lunches :o
    * load of washing & hang up
    * doing a ms assignment for breakfast
    * have wombled points added to card
    * meeting friend after work for a sauna and swim

That's all I can think of right now! Happy days guys x

    Hi January Jubilants,

I awoke early so thought I might as well get up.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    *
Cooker is playing up so need to look into that today...in the meantime we'll have to use the U.F.O.: (Link)

    * Clothes airer has become a huge heap of scrap metal, it's been repaired so many times that it's all repair and no airer and is now doing a leaning tower of Pisa impression. I think we may need to source a new one so I'll go and look for one in town this morning. The thing is I like the look of the fancy one on wheels...but are the wheels worth an extra £10? Or am I just being decadent?

    * Free boiler safety check today.

    * Pay day, so rent paid early as usual.

    * Received £2.06 cashback.

    * Do RMSurveys.

  • Morning

Parents evening last night and discussions with DS2 about what he wants to do post-16. Turns out he would quite like to go to the big college 25 miles away (we live very rurally) rather than the local sixth form, which doesnt have the best reputation. He hasnt said this to us because he thinks the travel would be too expensive, £30 a week if he is there every day, plus food. Lots to think about. £30 a week would be a stretch - we pay £10 a week at the moment for school but I am a bit disappointed that he dismissed this idea without saying anything to us.

Anyway other than that DS1 to hospital today for his eight weekly treatment so I will have to leave work early, need some food shopping but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Washing put over the airer in my office last night - it can stay there for now.

Fajitas for tea, must go and take chicken out of the freezer!

Have a good Friday everyone x
  • Morning Ally - only the people on this thread could talk about the decadence of an airer with wheels - but I know exactly what you mean!
