Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Solway- reading your post did make me giggle :rotfl:

I sorted out under our bed a short while ago so haven't done that job from the list. Did sort through the tall chest of drawers next to my bed though.
One load in WM when I got in from work and this is all over the airers upstairs.

Hugs to all those feeling the cold and with colds. I walked to work in my flip flops this morning!

Another early night for me, in my nice clean aired bed!

    Evening all.

Got a question for you. DD1 who is 4 and just started school came home today and told us they had listened to a story tape today. The outline of the story is about a cellar in an old house where skeletons live that scare each other. Now DD1 is a sensitive soul and even scooby doo scares her so we dont let them watch it. Do you think this type of story is suitable for this age group??

Poor love was scared to go to the loo tonight (we live in a bungalow so everything on one level) Daddy had to go with her and wait.

Now I dont know the rules on this type of thing but can I request that she not be included when they have these types of stories:confused: , we are expecting a really bad night with her bad dreams wise??

    Any words of wisdom.

I would have a word with the school, you can request that she does not take part in these activities if it upsets her. Just explain that she is sensitive to this sort of stuff and has re-current night time fears and night mares. If they give you any rubbish that 'its normal for children to be this way', just explain that her reaction is not normal and causes a lot of stress at home.

DS1 has nightmares and night terrors, (think he gets it from me, I had dream therapy when I was a child) one or the other most nights, so I know what its like trying to comfort them! We have a dream catcher in his room now to 'catch the nightmares' and so far it seems to be helping a bit, he is not so worried about going to sleep.

You just have to really listen to her and talk to her about any fears she has before going to sleep. DS1 was terrified for over a month of a 'man covered in mud' who was in the back garden. No idea where he got it from!

Hope she settles down and forgets all about it.

    Hello!

I've done bits of cleaning and will get with the flying properly tomorrow. Very proud of DD as she's moved up to the top spelling group through sheer hard work. I know it's only a little thing but i'm so proud of her. Now she's panicking that it's a mistake and she wants me to go and check tomorrow. Bless her.

Think they're both asleep though I DS keeps falling out of his bed since I put him on the lower bunk due to his op. My theory was I didn't want him high up after the op but at least that bed had a side to it. This one he just falls right out! If he falls out again he's going back on top bunk!

    Have a nice evening xx

Shell, I would speak to school, some children are much more sensitive than others (we've had scooby doo nightmares here too) school SHOULD realise that. Sounds like it might be a 'funny bones' story which are aimed at youngsters, all mean't in fun but sometimes children like I said are a little more sensitive.

Kicked DP out for a bit, he was on about setting up a friend's petrol car for him tonight, they are noisey smelly things, anyway was 8pm when this friend said he was on his way over, so I've kicked him out and told him to go and do it in an industrial estate nowhere near houses, don't want him waking mine or anyone elses kids up!

Sky resorted, they offered DP a deal to stay with them inc Sky+ and not charging us to 'move' which they wanted £60+dish cost before he said he was cancelling it, so that is rebbooked. Downside is kids will hate it because we won't have Sky TV here or any TV really as the aeriel doesn't work, for the last 5 days we are here! I am sure they will cope, somehow :rotfl:
One day I might be more organised...........
