Leigh, I'll be honest we were talking about the house thing with DP's step Mam last week who is a midwife. I was saying about my friend who is expecting soon and is a bit of a clean freak. She said as a midwife visiting they are more concerned if a house is too clean and tidy, they prefer to see lived in homes as such, as if it's too clean and tidy it means Mam isn't resting aswell as how much it will upset them if things are not just so when baby arrives. So stop worrying! One day I might be more organised...........

We told him he's getting the smallest room, he dashed off got the Argos book and said 'so I can get this now yes' :rotfl: pointing at his bed he wants.
lol they never miss a trick eh! Well since we ordered this new bed for W (ordered because he doesn't want to sleep in it and misses Daddy) A has got really upset as Daddy built the ladder for the cabin bed (when she first had it she could not cope with the rungs) and she doesn't want to get rid of them. Said we could save the ladder in the garage but she wants the bed back! So it seems like we will have to get rid of the 3/4 bed in her room (which was given to us for a spare initially) and put the cabin bed in it's place. More moving around! She was worried that I would be mad as she has new butterfly bedding for a double quilt and will be reverting to a single. I really don't want them upset anymore than necessary so told her not to worry, I will get the sewing machine out and alter the covers to fit the cabin bed.
So as I have no idea when W's new bed will arrive (could be up to 35 days, could be a lot sooner) I need to get rid of A's bed, move the cabin bed (W is sleeping with me a lot at the mo) and tidy both their rooms!
So better get off of here instead of waiting for a call back from yesterday and start sorting!!!
Sorry for the rambleOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
 just thought I had better get paint organised for A's room then if she is having the cabin bed as it is too heavy to move around and once it's in it's in! Pigpen............ brushes pleaseOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0

Break time........
started sorting out the double kitchen cupboard that I've been doing for 3 years....why I started I don't knownow I've got to find somewhere to put all the stuff I need to keep that doesn't belong in a kitchen lol oh I remember I was looking for a new bulb for my lamp....and no I didn't find one.
It's also raining now so can't put my sheets outside so think I'll drape one of them over the landing rails and the other on the spare room radiator the rest on the maiden.
Nearly done in my bedroom, hoovered right through aswell - so the list is getting done slowly but surely. Will update it later.
I need a brew......0 -
Hi again everyone,
I love the idea of the deep cleaning, but I'm not sure whether I'm going to get it done. The day always feels too short. How those of you with jobs manage I'll never know.
All my children are at school full time and I still don't manage to get it all done.
I'm having an IM conversation with my dad at the moment, which is keeping me from my cleaning, but I've managed to get my bed linen in the dryer, put another load on, dust and clean the bathroom.
Just got to hoover and wash the floors. Will get onto those as soon as I've finished talking to my Dad. Then maybe I can do the underneath of my bed...didn't do the deep clean for yesterday...I don't have skirting boards, well not ones that are attached!
Right going to get on with little things while talking to Dad. catch you all later.0 -
Pigpen............ brushes please
With or without BRISTLES... lmao..
((((hugs)))) for you all , it must be very hard moving things around as everything will remind you all of daddy. When FIL died they were living on an RAF base so they weren't ever allowed back in the house which I do feel was detrimental to their mental wellbeing (hubby was 5, SIL 14.5 months and BIL was 6.. and straight after christmas) They had very little of their dads as MIL had to get rid of the few bits he had left so they could move back here without too much 'stuff'. I know how much all those bits are needed.. even that huge daft bear! lol
Tiddles has now finished playing with playdough and said I can put it away for later.. all we can smell is onions.. so I may need to go out any buy more.. I forgot how much smaller they get once they're peeled!! I have 4 2 ltr jars and will currently fill 1 with 4lb of onions.. thought it was 3 but it is 4 now they are weighed!
*sniff*
Great.. bed sheets in the wash.. so it rains!!!.. in fact it is pouring down!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well today.
I am feeling perfectly human again :j The furniture has been delivered (although I put it in the dining room until I can get it all danish oiled (and that has a worse effect on me than paint  although doesn't make me feel sick - just like I have take a packet of pro plus :rotfl: ) I think I might wait until the October break the kids are going to stay at my Dads for a couple of days - so I might be able to do it then.
I really need to go to the supermarket today - didn't make it yesterday, need to do meal plans first though and check what we have in the freezer (trying to empty it so that I can refill for Christmas)
The only way we could think of to fix the chip in the mirror in the bathroom (it is no more nailed to the wall - so taking it to a merchant/replacing it is not an option) was one of those windscreen repair kits. It arrived in the post today - so I really hope it works (although I have a plan b) The damage hasn't gone through to the backing so fingers crossed...
So the plan is meal plan, shopping list, supermarket, pick up kids and as much of the list as I can fit in between - after I have had a chance to enjoy my coffee :rotfl:
btw it is freezing here - I saw a gritter out on way home from school run yesterday mentioned to OH and he said he saw one last week - I was hoping for a mild October so that I could get some of the outside jobs done
Shell - are you looking for grown up waterproofs?0
