  • I'll be in again. I may even keep up tomorrow as Charlie is still off it so i am staying at home with him tomorrow. We have had NHS direct on the phone today and then took him to the walk in clinic at the hospital as he was screaming for hours and throwing himself around as though he was in agony, and although i assumed teeth thought we should get it checked - the little monkey fell asleep on the way there, and was non-grumpy when we arrived so it looked like i had lied to them about how bad he was, and they found slight chest infection so he's been given a course of antibiotics.

Then when we got home, he left us a floater in the bath for the 1st time ever, so i think he may also have had belly ache as he has been trumping like a good one all day too.

Just phoned the cover lady and left a message on the answerphone for the department, so i just need to send an email with my cover work on, and then the rest of the evening is free-ish. No washing up as we had a pizza after the long day we had.

    My bits:
    • pay cheque into bank (bonus from portman and nationwide merging - so lovely brucie bonus)
    • [STRIKE]ring nursery to say DS won't be there tomorrow[/STRIKE]
    • post amazon sale off (old computing textbook for 15 quid)
    • [STRIKE]ring drs to get DS an appt for Tuesday as advised by dr today[/STRIKE]apparently no appts until i said the dr at the walk in clinic said he had to be seen tomorrow and suddenly one at 9am. how miraculous
    • mark my y10 and y11 books ready for tuesday
    extras:
wash load of my work shirts
weekend tasks - i think it's a shame to go there and put on the extra pressure as we know it's optional but come on - we are all here because we are perfectionists. If we do it, put on things like ring your folks, supermarket shop, go through LR looking for last weeks stuff to recycle (old newspaper/TV guide/post lying around) take kids to park or play a game with them. Basically, have the essential stuff but also some fun family stuff perhaps. There is already the uniform sort, but there could also be help kids with h/w - sign their homework planner ready for teacher to check.

I'd personally like to see some xmas prep as i know some of you are experts here and some also use the organised xmas. Perhaps start small like: this week, write a list of all people you want to buy xmas cards and presents for, next week, make a list of any pressie ideas and anything you have bought already. It's not that far away now.
  • just been looking on organizedchristmas.com
they have lots of lists from 21st oct wondered if these could be incorparted somehow?
    just an idea

Weekend lists   no thanks!

Tis true though that collectively we will never get a 'perfect' list due to differing work patterns/responsibilities. The levels idea is great as everyone (even me :p) can feel that they have achieved something each day.

BUT my suggestion, for what it's worth, what about seasonal or semi flylady tasks for weekends eg order/buy/make Christmas cards, update finances (be it MS money like I have set up or old fashioned notebook), update present lists for Christmas/Bdays wash/hoover the car, prepare draft excluder's ready for winter etc etc, check/update important paperwork eg guarantees, life insurance, wills.

I know a lot of those are on my 'need to do' list and whilst quite a few are not strictly flylady type things they do need doing and some can even be done while sat at the PC :D

lol seems we are all thinking along the same lines!

michelle hope Charlie is feeling better in the morning, if ever we have a worry with DD or DS we check the NHSDirect site and then if needed cut the middle man out and go straight to walk in centre or A&E. Once waited over 6 hours for a call back for my friend who had terrible pain in her ears and couldn't balance (no alcohol involved!), they went through all the details again and then suggested we go to A&E by which time it was 8pm on a Saturday night  the waiting board thingy said 3hrs, 5hrs later I asked how much longer to be told at least another 4hrs  abandoned that for a game of soldiers came home dosed up on paracetamol/ibrufen stayed dosed up on Sunday and went to GP's Monday morning.

    Lead us not into temptation...

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
  • Hi,
I thought I would try and join you all this week. I'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to housework mainly because I work full time & do Avon in the evenings and so sorting stuff out round the house is never particularly high on my agenda! I tend to leave it for ages then have a mad dash and stress myself (and my DH) out because nowhere is as tidy as I'd like it to be!

But, we've just come back from holiday and I thought it might be a good time to turn over a new leaf. My DH is also away this week meaning there's only my mess to contend with!

Fortunately the kitchen is a good place to start as ours is tiny & is the one room that is generally kept pretty clean & tidy! So with any luck I'll be feeling positive by this time tomorrow!

Extra tasks for this week for me......
    Bake Birthday cake for DH
Sew belt loops onto trousers for DH (been putting this off for weeks!)
try and go to the gym at least once!

and probably lots of other stuff but I can't think of anything else right now!

    Wish me luck!

Good luck Jo, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it all in no time, and even if you slip, a lot of us still come on to have a chat - no pressure.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

It was a lovely pic of Alice.. it was the beast we had issues with.. as for this pic.. I have the 'sensitive' one in the cupboard.. that one sets my eczema right off!!! lol... Besides I need the mousse one to squirt on hubby's genitals as he sleeps.. so all his fur falls off in the shower in the morning!!! :A

Those are pretty much the 'weekend' lists I was thinking of.. I'll have a thinky think and see what I can come up with. Seasonal and semi-flying.. with bit of a declutter thrown in for good measure? More of a reminder list than a true spruce?

Michelle I hope Charlie is more like himself tomorrow!
