would love a list for dailies, and night time jobs as I think a week or so of basics will help us newies get into the swing of it

  • Thanks for the new thread pigpen and I'm pleased IT IS the kitchen. :j

I think I'm with lil_me on the weekend lists and like Dusty says there's always so much to be done here anyway that other jobs pop up and need to get sorted and the weekends are the ideal time for that.

Off to finish of the washing up, do DS's lunch for tomorrow and iron school uniform.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

I'm with pigpen and do the dallies now without thinking about it. Mine are WM, peg out, ironing and put away, DW, S&S kitchen, hoover downstairs and general tidy up, fed dogs and make sure wallked, check meal plan and defrost anything needed/cook.

Do these most days, WM on most days, if not clothes then one load of bedding/towels/bath mats.

Myself I wouldn't keep up with the weekend list but do use the weekend to catch up f I need to. Would be useful though for those whio work or are just starting to sort through the house.

    Hiya

I vote for weekend tasks but maybe something like declutter....sweep outside...as has already been mentioned sort the airing cupboard out...or even a bit of decorating...touching up paintwork etc  but I wouldn't like it to get like you feel you have to y'know what I mean? it's only optional and there IF you want it.

I more or less spend the weekends by myself during the day and itching to do something, incapable of doing it off my own bat so a list on here would be useful to me, If it's written down I do it (usually :o )

I've got a bid on eBay!! YAY! :j I'm super thrilled and just text DD1 to tell her dad lol

Got loads of decorating stuff done today - still a way to go but it's getting there, done dailies etc and now I'm having 5 minutes on here while the (late) tea cooks.

  • Weekend tasks that are things like outside jobs (mow lawn, clear junk out of car, wash car etc) would be great for me as being at work all week I can't really do much outside during the week especially now that it's getting dark earlier. Also some sorting / decluttering / planning type jobs would be good (meal plans, fling boogie, sort cupboard, sort wardrobes, sort out stuff for charity shop/ebay/freecycle).

On the day when there's the computer stuff, could you also add in backup files / run virus scan, I know moggins used to have that on her list.

<---- look new avatar, and not a rat in sight. Now if you don't like boats / water / seagulls then tough !

Right time to ignore everything else that was on my list that I didn't get done last week and start a new list :) This week I absolutely must ensure that everything is ready for the plasterer to come in on 1 Oct, plus I want to go to Bristol on saturday so that means finising the prep work before friday.

Hi everyone, i've gotten no futher with the wm, need to get a belt tomorrow and hubby deal with it. Did ring down to in laws but there is no such key (oppps) and they said that it would do until tomorrow and they would have a look. Then they said i don't need it today anyway which of course i said that there's 5 in this house and the wm is never off. So belt needs replacing. Then MIL phones up and say's ''I don't agree with washing being done on a sunday and don't want to put the machione on but if you need to use it for uniforms then bring them down but you should have had them already done'' well i'm not in good form today anyway and i would normal not let it annoy me but boy it did and i said no your fine i can wash them by hand. Which i did.angry-smiley-030.gif
Then went and lay down for a while.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Hugs vanilla, how dare she tell you when you should do your washing! - I usually have a shaky relationship with my MIL (sort of MIL - my OH's Mum), but just had a good rant to her on the phone (she called to see how OH's foot was, but he was out lol), and she was really nice.

I gave my neighbour a piece of my carrot cake this avo cos I'd mentioned that I'd made one and thought it rude not to give her a piece, and she just caught me rescuing the washing (it's raining here) and said how nice it was, and that it was the first piece of homemade cake she'd had in years - I was really pleased and it's made what could have ended up as a bad day, into a nice ending.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
