    bb5 phone so no free unlock. most shops should be able to unlock this for a fee

    Are you entering the code without a sim card in the phone ? If so enter the code with a non accepted sim card in the phone.

    The Nokia 6288 is a BB5 phone which means it cant be unlocked by free code, you can either take your phone to a market stall/unlocking shop and get it unlocked there, contact 3 and buy the code off them or find somebody who can access the 3 database and buy an unlocking code that way.
