Free Unlock codes for Nokia Phones 7 (U.K. Networks Only)

I just successfully unlocked a German T-Mobile Nokia 1600 via
http://www.unlockitfree.com/unlocknok4.php

emboldened, I then tried to unlock a UK Tesco Moible Nokia 1110.

Tried 1st and 7th of these, got Code Error on entering the final #

Are O2 locking their 6300 contract phones? I bought an O2 contract Nokia 6111 in 2006 and it wasn't network locked at all. I had heard that O2 don't lock their contract phones so does anyone know if this is still the case?

I have a Nokia 6500 Classic so I imagine that I'll have to go to a shop to get it unlocked. How do these shops work...? Are there good ones and bad ones...? Will they do it while I wait...? Does my mobile need to have a SIM in when I take it to them...?
