You can contact 3 for the unlock code, if its out of contract it should be free, or try and find a pro unlocker who has the hardware but this will cost about £25-£30

Yes it will be free when your contrct expires as the phone is paid for and is yours after the contract has expired.

3 are telling me it will cost me a £15 administration fee even when my contract with them has expired. thanks for your help though, it has most likely halved the cost as i wouldnt of thought of ringing 3.
