Cooking for one

That final 1/3rd of a pie was lurking and I thought of the effort of removing it from the box, folding the tray over, cutting the name label out and stuffing them into a freezer bag and putting it in the freezer, then having to eat it at some point anyway and having to defrost it etc....
I decided to just eat it today instead and "get it over with".

Good idea PN, sounds nice and easy
I am going posh, Lidl mooch this morning turned upa RFQS Vintage Cheddar & Red Onion Quiche topped with chutney. [aka cheese & onion flan with pickle]
Not sure what to have with it, oven chips & baked beans perhaps? Would be healthy to have with a side salad but CBA and the chips can be bunged in oven with the flan
All the talk of fish fingers, yesterday's lunch was fish finger bap, with mayo
Dinner was so memorable have forgotten what it was already:oEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I agree. If I ate 5-a-day I wouldn't be able to eat any of the other food groups at all.
It occurred to me at 03:00 last night (insomnia yet again) that I really didn't ought to post on this thread, as I don't nowadays [STRIKE]cook for one[/STRIKE] just have myself to feed.
Not having a good day today.
Sorry you're not having a good day LameWolf.
My sympathy with the insomnia too..It blights my life as well

I had a banana with my porridge at breakfast. A cheese salad sandwich with apple at lunch. Some celery and carrot sticks with hummus as a mid afternoon snack. Will be doing a vegetable and lentil stew with rice for supper.
I find it odd that people find it so hard NOT to eat at least 5 a day.0 -
I've just made a Dhal..with added carrots, green peppers and mushrooms...with that and the lentils, tomatoes, onion and garlic, that surely must total my 5 a day.
Made loads so I'm thinking I will freeze 2 portions, if they will fit in the freezer, another portion in the fridge and one for tonight.
To be served with HM flatbreads.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

That would be a good 2 days worth of food for me no way could I manage that amount so I totally understand why people struggle.
Glass of wine and a chocolate bar count as 2 though...grapes and cocoa beans :cool:0 -

Hi Mr_Singleton I'll sit on the fence on this one- it's generally not something I struggle with but harder for some if you live alone or don't have a good appetite or are on a limited budget or simply aren't that keen on F&V:)I've just made a Dhal..with added carrots, green peppers and mushrooms...with that and the lentils, tomatoes, onion and garlic, that surely must total my 5 a day.

Mmmmm Dhal must make some soon and as you say one bowl covers a good whack of veg intake, I like to add spinach and mushrooms to mine:) Hope the HM flatbreads work out must be the day for them.:D
PN and Farway - hope you enjoy your respective pies and tarts.:) PN how can eating pie be a chore you made it sound like doing the ironing LOL....:rotfl:
Well chopping hasn't happened yet but a piece of cod has been taken out of the freezer, toying with not stuffing the pepper but mixing it with some mushrooms, onions and garlic and popping the mix over the cod and baking it and having the cous cous on the side. Will see what I fancy doing when I go to make it:)0
