CBH cooked and eaten
Of course, it made a HUGE amount, so there's a dish of it wrapped in the fridge for later/tomorrow.
It was absolutely gorgeous .... and I served it with the remaining beans... trouble is, no beans to go with that 2nd portion now
I topped it with cheddar. Just kept it simple, so no peas/gravy/whatnot.0 -

Just cracked open a box of biscuits my elder son brought back from Athens. Oh my word they are delicious - like a cross between a biscuit and a cake, spiced with ginger, honey and orange(I think) and although sweet not overly so. They are dipped in dark chocklate with roasted pistachios sprinkled on top. Of course just being me here I don't have share them and I can't see it being a problem using them up0

I've had a rotten couple of days...work and very bad haircut related.
I just fancy something sweet to eat. I've no chocolate, cake or biscuits in, ran out a couple of weeks ago. CBA to walk to the shop as it's a 35minute round trip and not worth it just for chocolate.
Now is the time maybe it would be handy to have a OH/ housemate to plead with to kindly go to the shop for you?...Or perhaps not!!
Last night I bought a fresh baguette and had half of it with tuna mayo, lettuce and baby tomatoes and a few crips. Probably cost under £1 to make so add to that my usual 2 pints of milk consumption I probably only spent £1.60 on food yesterday!!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -

Do you have any drinking chocolate as that might just hit the spot? I love a tuna salad baguette but it says lunch to me not food for the day especially if you are trying to save on the heating bills you need to get something hot into you <<wagsfingersmiley>> and unless you are very teeny even with whole milk some more calories

Sorry you've had a lousy couple of days - no wonder you fancy something sweet. I can send you a virtual greek biscuit
if that would help. Do you have any drinking chocolate as that might just hit the spot? Sorry boss:o.
I know eating a hot meal is a good idea when it's cold and I do have lots of hot drinks...also HM soup, but last night was a case of having something I really fancied. Since mentioning smoked salmon the other day, I've been craving fish and as I was out and bought a freshly baked baguette, that is what I had.
Don't get me wrong I love my food and I do eat huge portions so I get more than enough calories every day...but I also put weight on easily if I over indulge, so a happy medium is required.
Thanks for the virtual biccie'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Its the age old single thing for me, too much beef in red wine last night so its the same again tonight. Might have to add some gravy though this will after all be the 3rd warm up
Did consider chucking it but just couldn't bring myself too
Karcher sorry you are feeling down ...35 mins for chocolate may well be worth it and at least you would have walked off some of the calories:cool:0 -
It's tough needing a sweet fix ... if you buy it, then it gets eaten, so you really need some stuff that won't be scoffed... instant custard's good for that, as well as some small tins of fruit. I've usually also got the 20-30p tins of creamed rice which can be eaten with a spoon of jam or sugar.
Another winner is either chocolate spread or jam on a crumpet/similar... or, if you're REALLY stuck .... just shove a teaspoon in the jam jar and put that in your mouth - leave it for awhile to savour it .... and make that one teaspoon of jam last 30-40 seconds. Ditto for golden syrup.
Jam on toast also works of course... if you have bread. I did a microwaved jam tortilla wrap the other week ... bit messy, but sweet0 -

Ahem, a pie maker would have been an answer here.... chop the beef up a bit more, add a few frozen peas or carrots and maybe onion and then shove it in a pie.
Most things taste better in pastry or breadcrumbs.
