30p Short on Parking Ticket - £60 PCN

Hello,
My wife received a PCN today after her father incorrectly paid the right amount to park.
The 'all day parking' fee was £6.50 and he (by mistake) paid £6.20. A PCN was left with a fee of £60 (£100 if paid after 14 days).
It was 100% a mistake that the wrong fee was paid into the machine, and whilst they realise that they should have clearly checked the ticket, they do feel that paying £60 because of a 30p shortfall is a little extortionate and excessive.
The car park is a member of the BPA.
If we appealed, would this likely go in our favour? How is it best to approach the appeal?
Many thanks for your time and response,
Ben.

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES. This explains how to appeal these scam tickets.
What is the name of the parking scumpany please? (Full name, not initials.)I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Personally, I would ignore. They would be insane to take you to court over a few coppers. If the Judge thought that they were wasting his/her time he could make life awkward for them. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

in the Beavis case (14 months ago) the judges ruled that figures up to £85 on a "free for 2 hours" car park were not "extortionate" or "unconcionable" , so use the blue text BPA template and appeal it seeing as its a BPA member, but the 30p owed is not any defence point at popla , so you will use the usual suspects that everyone else does if they reject the appeal
which BPA member is it ?
and was it in england or wales ? or elsewhere ?0 -
But this was not a free car park, OP paid the not inconsequential sum of £6.20. The PPC would struggle in court to claim Beavis applies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Thanks everyone for the replies so far.
The car park is run by UK Parking Control Ltd and is in England.
Does this change things?

A company that was caught doctoring tie stamps on their photo' "evidence" and banned from obtaining keeper details from the DVLA for a while.
It changes nothing.
Appeal using the BPA template in blue from the NEWBIES thread.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks1 -

The infamous UKPC who take fake pictures with staff that hide
behind wheelie bins looking for prey.
We know UKPC are in England but are you in England or Wales0 -
I am, along with the car park, in England. The car park is in Didcot, one of the two opposite the train station.
They sound like a *lovely* company.0 -

They are known within the magic circle (that's here) and by the media as Parking Cowboys.
So, was there a range of prices or just an all day @ £6.50 and how long was the car parked for.1
