Ugh, I'm really poorly with a STONKING cold (seriously, over just Saturday and Sunday I've gone through 2 loo rolls on my nose and eyes!!) I had a spend Friday night and a spend Saturday - they both included prosecco/wine for lunches over the weekend, one with friends and one for my dads birthday (which I didn't enjoy due to feeling so horrendous), so I'm not sure of the totals till I check the receipts. I feel totally out of control but I physically don't have the money to be so it'll have to stop! My shopping day is supposed to be Thursday so I need to meal plan before then - I try and do this on a Tuesday but as I'm unlikely to do my cleaning tonight due to aforementioned lurgy and also the fact I'm doing a ten hour day today to help out (sigh) at work, I can't see it happening.

So I think Fridge inventory/stock take and meal plan plus shopping list today and then concentrate on cleaning tomorrow.

Weds I'm out for dinner with mum instead of at mine - we are going to the cinema to watch La La Land (I bought her cinema vouchers for her birthday, and got myself £30 worth of vouchers for £17.60 using that Zeek app with the £10 MSE code), and I have 241 Pizz4 3xpress vouchers for our dinner.

Before my lurgy kicked in properly, on Friday night I did a bit of a reorganise in my kitchen - I bought a pine shelf unit for £20 from B&M (first time I've been in - AMAZING place!) and it's now my dry goods store - I'm IMMENSELY proud of how good it looks :D

  • Yesterday we had small gathering at ours (I live in a flat share). I got some groceries and wine which come together to £10.15 and which leaves me with £5.59 until Saturday. Luckily there is quite a lot of leftovers from which I can make dinner and some packed lunch.
Pretty straight forward week ahead so will try not to spend any money for next few days :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone!

    Morning all

Spends yesterday of £18.12/95 taking total to £24.77 over two shops - managed to find some cracking YS bargains including bread/vegetables and organic beef/fish and chicken along with washing powder on offer £5 for 45 washes so okay with that.
Menu plan done until the end of the month IF I stick to plan and have more NSD's. Cook off planned for today to use up fridge and fresh stuff - soup is definitely on the menu and veggie/lentil curry for tonight.
Freezer inventory updated but still more going in than coming out....
Very grey day here - hope everyone has a good rest of day

  • Huge spend today - £63.91

It included some food donations for a local party, things that I don't need at the moment but go into my store cupboard, plus some household items and pet food.

I now need to curb my spending for the rest of the month - I can't afford to waste money if I'm to keep under my target.

I am happy with this as it means I will eat what I've already prepared and frozen instead of thinking I can "treat myself".

Sorry all, getting out of the challenge for the time being. Good luck to all still in it and see you on another one in the future, hopefully.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Had a bulk buy today - a years supply of Ecover dishwasher tablets plus rinse aid. There was a special offer on at W--se £3.50 for 25 tabs, plus I also got my 20% discount as it was on my list of 10 favourites. Saved over £60 - really pleased and it comes out of my 'bulk buy budget'
