What is W--se please zafiro? I use Ecover dishwasher tabs!

I think it means Waitrose. Do you know Ecover are not Vegan. They lost their leaping bunning (animal testing) a while back. Hope you don't mind me saying, just in case you were not aware.

Spent £7.09. None yellow stickered, but I got a hugh amount. Freezer totally stuffed, between that and the cooks ups I have been doing. Just need some salad stuff, mushrooms & dairy free cheese and I should be done for a week or so.

    Hi all...
Unusual week for me as drove down to the westcountry to visit my Mum and stayed at my friend's so probably bought a few bits I wouldn't normally.
I'm already at my half way mark but think I'll manage as I've lots of stuff in and as long as I cook properly I should be fine.......still can't believe how SBs have put their prices up so much - luckily I found some YS salmon and chicken and cooked both tonight for use in the week. Went to MrT's and believe it is cheaper for the things I normally buy - bought more ys stuff in there too. My boss has asked me to help myself to anything in their fridge as they have gone away for a few days so that'll be handy too.

    Update
    £48.94 - food
£1.85 - indulgences (cream eclairs and maple pecan danishes!)
    £17.08 - wine
    £2.87 - McD's pitstop

    TOTAL £70.74/£130 - REMAINING £59.26

    Good luck all!

£27.73 today. Including some household items that come from GC. Far too much for this early in the month though.

I had a L!dl shopping trip this evening for top up of fruit and veg, bread and milk. I was determined to stay on my list and I *mostly* did but there were some YS for less than £2 for putting into the freezer. Handy for weekend lunch times and saves popping out etc.

I took advantage of a box of dishwasher tablets £3.49 for 44 whereas there was a box of 24 / 28? for £3.29 so grabbed the last box of 44. Loo rolls were going to be bought from BandM but thought if I followed temptation in another shop I would expose myself to more off list items. So paid about 50p more for a L!dl pack of 18. Also got a 28 wash non-bio liquid as was there. So I spent £28 on grocery and household items from my budget (signature updated). No more shopping required until Friday bread, milk, cream and salad so I'm planning 3 NSDs and then a weekend of NSDs too.

I managed to buy 25 packs of vegetable seeds at L!dl too - 5 packs for £1... Not out of my grocery budget. So exciting to be getting my garden plots organised for the spring.

Organised my meal plan for next week too and need only a very minimum of things for then too. Would be great to finish the month not having gone without but with 'spare' cash from a guesstimated budget.

Elsie, I hope you feel better soon!

Caterina, I hope everything is OK :)

I do love reading this thread; there are lots of great ideas - and support too! Although it becomes quite addictive :o

Well, only 6 days into the month and we're now sitting at £156.91 after spending roughly £100 today  :o

To be fair, we have just cooked almost 60 portions of evening meals, meaning that we should have enough to last right through to the very end of the month.

We have loads of breakfast stuff in as well. Lunch is where we will need to start purchasing sooner rather than later. And we'll need bread, fruit and milk.

DD was given her £5 yesterday and managed keep it entirely intact by using the change from her last 4 weeks - we're thinking about asking her to do our budget :rotfl: She made an amazing looking quiche, and had a petit filous-type yogurt, a banana, some cucumber and tomato salad and a piece of beetroot brownie from the freezer for pudding.

W--se is the name of a large supermarket chain, the last four letters are 'rose'
At the moment Ecover dishwasher tablets are 3.50 for 25 tabs instead of £5.
If you have a loyalty card and have chosen the dishwasher tablets as one of your '10 picks' you can also get an extra 20% off. I'm not sure, but I think you can register online for a loyalty card if you haven't got one.
If you have never had a home delivery from them you can also get an extra £20 off your first delivery but I think there is a minimum spend.

Does anyone know of an alternative to Ecover, I do find it expensive. We use it because we're not on mains drainage, I have to be very careful what I put down the sinks as we are on a totally natural reed bed system.

LOL I got it wrong, it's Ecozone I use!! Absolutely right Save Dosh that's why I don't use Ecover! Got mixed up - I blame my cold!). That's also why I stopped using Method (which I switched to after Ecover) because they do test on those little pond animals which for some reason don't count! So now everything is Ecozone for me!

I have Ecoballs for washing - £15 for 1000 washes is a bargain!
I worked out the W---rose thing after I posted lol, then checked 0cad0 and found EcoZONE dishwasher tabs are on offer too, 3 for 2 which is a bargain as they are £16 for the 72 box. (Technically they are cheaper on big green smile at £12 a box but factor in the offer and they're not - 216 tablets [3 boxes] work out at £36 on BGS or £32 on 0cad0 offer). Unfortunately I don't have £32 spare to take advantage of this plus I have well over half a box left so wasn't even needing to buy them this month anyway.

zafiroTry biggreensmile.com - they have lots of eco options. I recommend Ecozone :)
