Oh, I have spectacularly fallen off the wagon this evening in every sense of being mse. Just spent over £30 on pizza from D0min0es for all of us. Not that I really have £30 spare to do it, but we have enough food to do us for a couple of days in the kitchen now. The guilt is immense.
I'm cold, tired and missing a night out with my colleagues due to lack of babysitter... Boo hiss
So I won't even pretend to have been mse today. I've done my daily housework jobs and am just waiting to collect dd from gymnastics so I can pack up for the night. Fresh start tomorrow
Ally - you can totally do this. Hang on in there...
LaE - sorry to hear about the dog. Hope he's better soon
DNMS - fingers crossed for a cheap fix on the car. I've had that done before - it's quite quick to fix.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Aaahhh. Life getting in the way!!! Busy busy. La E hope pooch is ok. Ally remember you're awesome
DNMS what a lovely mechanic
Whilst I have been Way I have achieved some things:
Made will appointment for Monday through the free wills network
Stayed away with work last night, free dinner and lunch. Was very good and didn't over indulge except for an extra long shower this morning on their water and heating bill
Meals from stores other than that. New recipe tonight. Gunpowder pork. Let's hope it tastes as good as it smells. Using courgette instead of mangetout
Washing on overnight, on radiators to dry
All swimming tonight for fun using membership
Ran for free this morning in the snow (we'll fluff)
Pad to savings
Ordered two doors we needed for £60 less than the price of two :j plus some c/b
Couple of surveys, one more today.
Withdrew £40.80 c/b that had finally tracked
Hope you're all snuggle warm. PF.0 -
La E, sorry to hear the dog is poorly, hopefully now you know you can keep an eye on it?
The snow didn't really settle here so I went to the funeral after all today. I'm glad I did, we didn't really see the auntie that died very often so I didn't know her well but my favourite auntie, who I only ever see at funerals was there. It's quite sad really as we are not in touch (my mum had a falling out with them in my teens) and I adored her when I was a child and I'm realising that the next funeral may be hersI thought about writing her a letter detailing all the memories I have of her from when I was small but I don't want her to think I'm mental
The flowers I ordered for the funeral didn't turn up, I had an email saying they were delivered nearly 2 hours before the funeral (to the funeral directors) so either I gave the wrong address or they forgot to put them in. Either way there are some flowers going to waste somewhere, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if they can at least be sent on to my uncle.
Before I set off I called eBay about my long distance buyer who bought my collection only item twice and they have reimbursed my fees. They still won't remove his neutral feedback even though they now have conclusive proof he is an idiot
I put my last bag of Christmas leftover meat in the slow cooker today with green beans and gravy then made roast potatoes and stuffing when I got home. I also had half a bag of @ldi cauliflower cheese so managed a whole roast dinner from the cupboards and freezer, I'm feeling quite proud of myself :T DH didn't eat the meat (it was mostly gammon, not his favourite) so the fox has some nice leftovers tonight
My mum gave me back another bag of books, I pick up a lot of unwanted books at work for her (all wartime romances and orphans kind of thing) and she is such a voracious reader that they are still fairly new releases when she's finished them and the book buying sites are paying two or three pounds for some of them so I have another order set to go that is nearly up to £25 :T
Happy Friday everyone
PS Re haircuts, mine is just past shoulder length and layered and I cut it myself  It's really simple, you just tie your hair up into a pony tail on top of your head, hold it in the air and cut straight across. The underneath layers will have travelled up further than the top ones so will be longer.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Evening :hello:
I cut my own hair too FvDMine's pretty long though. I bought one of those sets of kind of spirit level things - you bend over and flip your hair over, clamp the thing on, make sure it's straight, and chop. It comes out kind of in vague layers, slightly longer in the middle
I did have it cut once in the last year as I'd cut my fringe myself so many times it was all over the place
Went to a nice bargain place though and it only cost me £7 :money:
Sorry to hear about the poorly dog
Crazy cat lady, don't feel guilty! What's done is done (just don't do it again if it makes you feel so bad)
Not much to report here today:
* walked to work - felt proper slow after a week of cycling  but it was snowing here this morning so I wasn't going to risk the bike  As it was, I did a not-so-graceful glide past the library holding onto someone's wheelie bin:rotfl:
* took the last of the frozen soup and frozen home made bread to work :j Also made some popcorn in the microwave to take :j Most tasty.
Er, that's it I think :rotfl: Said there wasn't much:rotfl:
Oh, Mr Cheery found my bike panniers :j :j VERY excited about this as it will make cycling MUCH more comfortable :j (he also got a parking ticket, but we're not talking about that :rotfl: )0 -
Hi all
Von - I read war time romances interesting to hear they are worth that much! I've been selling them as a bundle and getting £1 per book.
Ally - thanks for the Nectar reminder I used to get an email but they seem to have stopped.
Hair wise I've just booked an appointment at the hair and beauty college. It's usually £5 obviously it takes them a bit longer but they are really quite good. They would never let you leave with wonky hair because the teacher checks all along the way and then again at the very end. I've only ever had a wash cut and blow dry but I've seen others having their hair coloured and such.
- wrote a shopping list, went on the internet to look at Aldi super 6 before I went. Bought 4 super 6.
- called in home bargains for branded stuff and cleaning products
- free post code lottery
- free exercise: had a couple of nice walks in the snow
- B and L at home
That's all for today, LP xCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Well ladies, this week has been one complete emotional drain! OH took pooch to the vet later this afternoon and our usual vet was back...he asked about the heart murmur again and turns out it is nothing that she is concerned about!! She looked confused checking for it, saying it was very subtle! I guess she didn't want to contradict her colleague but OH said she basically did! Then they get talking about his paw and again she seemed to totally contradict the other vet (that it shouldn't have been bandaged up since Tuesday because that may be making the situation worse!). Unfortunately it wasn't all good as she said it maybe wasn't something stuck in his paw but that it could be a tumorous growth and he may have to go back next week for another op to get it cut out.
Makes no sense to me - surely if it was a tumorous growth they would've seen it when they cut into it on Tuesday..?! Hopefully it'll just get better now and we can never go back to that first vet again!!
Anyway, all it means is that I am about £300 poorer and have to work tomorrow to make time up for all the vet visits.
I only get my hair cut about every 6 months btw. I youtubed 'up dos' - perfect for those 'in between' months.
Right, must stop my winging and think about making tonight's supper - still not eaten...
Night all!0 -

I'm pleased with it. I got my usual Pixie cut. The hairdresser, whom I'd not used before, has a wee mini salon in a side room of the village cafe (such is rural Scotland) and she was lovely so I'll be going back. I decided to go for a cut and blow dry this time and I did get my money's worth because she took 45 mins to meticulously cut my hair by hand rather than with the clippers. Next time I'll get a dry cut, though.
The funny thing was she put some "product" on my hair afterwards and then DW and I went hiking in 40mph winds and when I got back to the car my hair looked like I'd just stepped out of the salon. What's in that stuff? Concrete?! :rotfl:
Sorry about the dog La E.

LaE - I love the vets we use for our crazy cats, and I love the two vets but one of them is completely obsessed with their teeth and always wants them in for a dental. I just make sure I get a second opinion from the other one because she's more like me. Hope it's good news from the vet for your pooch - trouble is that all these extra diagnostics cost a fortune. Fingers crossed for you.
Actually had quite a good night of sleep last night so I almost feel raring to go today - only almost though. It's very cold out there so I'm pleased for the fact that I don't need to go anywhere until after lunchtime when I go tutoring.
Thanks for the kind words Cheery - I have loads of leftovers to work my way through todayOther plans include:
check banking and PAD
daily housework jobs
clean the bathroom
change the beds
meal plan for the week ahead so I don't fall into the takeaway trap again
tutoring later
tiny top up shop while the boys are at football
mark a set of books I brought home
Think that's it... Have a good day allNot giving up

Morning
cat I'm seriously impressed you changed the ignition coil! You are my heroine!
am sooooooo jel of all you people who cut your own hair. Having curly hair is such a torture even hairdressers can't cut it properly! I pay am absolute fortune to get mine done but only have it cut maybe 3 times a year. I've found someone who does a good job so I'm sticking like glue to him...
Plans for today:
* find out the cost of my car and go and collect it
* was supposed to be going to a ballet session with madam but she's having second thoughts...
* all meals from stores
* get joint of beef out of the freezer for tomorrow
* do meal plan for the next week basing around the joint of beef
* reply to db about meeting up for a walk and a pint tomorrow
* pick up milk, butter and a newspaper while out
* quick spruce up of the house
* madam wants to make cakes today so will do some old school cakes with icing and 100s & 1000s on :money:
* I need to do about an hours work still as cba to do it yesterday
* call current car ins and confirm ncb. Current quote is £241 but after a comparison I can get it for £197 so would be able to get breakdown cover as well for less than the ins quote :T
