Morning all, its a very spendy day in the LuckyLady household as we've got a plumber in (finally) to put put a radiator into our sitting room. This is following on from the refurb we did in the summer. A plumber was meant to be coming back to us in November to get us sorted but after lots of calls/messages we gave up on that plumber and tried several others who then haven't turned up etc :mad: Today however I have a plumber working on it so I can stop complaining
So far this morning
* Kids had free breakfast at school
* I've been to the gym to make use of my monthly membership
* Called in at the charity shop to drop in 3 large bags of donations for them
* Whilst there I bought 3 dvd's for £2, 1 I will put away for dh's birthday later in the year as he will love it. 2 are for the kids. Also bought a blouse for me for £1 and a spa gift set for £3 which I will put aside for a teachers present later in the year.
* Called into Iceland and bought the nuggets/potato waffles as the kids have friends over tea. Claimed the £2 dessert that I'd selected to receive as a free gift from them if I spent there between certain datesI now have a cherry pie in the freezer to have as a sunday lunch dessert
* Went to a1d1 next door and picked up some apples/kiwi/cauli that were on their super6
* Picked up kiddo's prescription
Still to do
* Wear lots of extra layers as the house is freezer as the front door needs to be open whilst the plumbers draining the system
* Make fairy cakes (from stores) with my niece tonight whilst the lads have their friends over, also means I didn't need to buy anything else to have as a dessert tonight.
* Check banking/update spreadsheets
* Check fpl/luckypnone/numberplate
* Inbox£ searches
* Swag$s if I get time
* Our bedroom tele was only giving us sound last night no pictures so it was good timing of my dad to send his old one over, need to set it up today
* Ironing needs doing, hubbys work shirts definitely need ironing hopefully everything else is just a hang away job.
Right I'm off to have a cuppa and get warmed up a bit!
Have a good day all

Hi January Jubilants,
I'm back....
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Haircut booked for lunchtime. Local so I can walk there and back.
* This afternoon DW and I will go for a hike to the garden centre cafe for a coffee treat, then hike home again. DW will take her camera-ma-bob.
* DW has Audiology late afternoon. At least that's free...NI contributions not withstanding.
* Wire brushed elderly stair carpet before hoovering. Did not pay a "man" to come clean it for £50.

Morning all (just!)
Freezing cold wind here today, but dry and sunny at least
For me today:
Received some shopping vouchers, stamps and useful packaging materials from RM surveys
Check banks Done
Loaded some extra points offers onto my Nectar card (thanks Ally)
Pack and post a parcel Done, got another to do now - ebay is a bit slow at the moment though!
Small Mr S shop, list required! Done, also fuel.
HM meals Done
Loaf in BM White seeded loaf today
Load of washing, peg on line (brrr!) Dried well in the cold wind, now in airing cupboard to finish off
List / relist ebay items Listed a few more, relisted unsold things
Sorted out an old over-bed tray / table thing from the loft for a friend's disabled baby - he has a special seat the help him sit up, but he can't reach his toys when in it, so the physio recommended one of these. Lovely to be able to help
I am sure there is more! I will come back later to update0 -
blimey I am bored! Been working from home since 8.45 losing the will to live so clocked off for a bit. Still probably have a couple of hours to do but will have a break and do it a bit later...
In the process of reseasoning my le creuset skillet. It has lost it's non stick but a little investigation leads me to believe a bit of scrubbing, some oil and some time in the oven *should* make it right as rain
spoke to mechanic and car is fixed. It was the ignition coil and he had a second hand one so cost is "minimal". He's going to do a service tomorrow morning and call me with a cost and when I can pick it up. I feel pretty confident it won't be expensive as he was the mechanic who replaced my bonnet after my accident last year for £15!
Inland Rev thing sorted out - not anywhere near as complex as I thought it would beDF as at 30/12/16

Hi everyone :wave:
Have been trying to catch up with you but lost the will a bit this week.The poor dog had something in his paw, which meant loads of time at the vets and not at work at the start of the week and we found out he has a heart murmur too.
I brought breakfast to work today but didn’t have time to make lunch as was out at job#2 last night and got home and went straight to bed, was up for about an hour in the night changing the dressing on the dog’s paw (took two of us! I was the holder-downer!!) then slept through the alarm and woke up 40 min later than planned. :eek: OH was probably late for work by about 15 min but hopefully it will be ok…
I cancelled on a pal tonight – didn’t get up early enough to pack for a night away and the added stress of leaving straight from work was a bit too much at 7am…Haven’t really saved anything money-wise though as we have rescheduled for next Friday.
Need to clean downstairs tonight. Tea from stores. Wine from stores too – defo need that one!!
Crossing my fingers we can have a relaxing night tonight…
Catch up later when I get home. xx0 -
Ally - you are a fountain of knowledge!! I'm gonna try that one!
1LL - Brrr, sounds chilly!
DNMS - Sounds like you have found a gem of a mechanic - hope you get it back soon. x
Dawn - you are a better woman than me with your washing on the line - I am a TD convert

I once, briefly, worked in a laboratory with a man who used to recharge AA batteries by popping them in a jug of hot water. It worked but probably elf 'n' safety wouldn't recommend it.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

I don't have room for a TD (says the woman with far too many dressers and blanket chests :rotfl:) and don't fancy the increased electricity bill. I have never had one, even when the kids were all at home. I guess they cost more then in proportion to earnings (most white goods did, so many of us were limited in the ones we had), and I was skint! Each to their own I guess
I peg things outside if possible, then if needed they go on the airer in front of the wood burner overnight. I don't have the airer up in the daytime, so they get finished off in the airing cupboard in the morning if need be. This load is dry enough to bypass the airer stage, and I will put it in the airing cupboard in a minute
Hope your dog is ok
Went out in the car, and noticed that it was very hard to get the auto transmission lever out of the park position - so I have had to book it into the garage to be looked at next weekMore expense :mad: But rather that than get it stuck somewhere :eek:

La E Really sorry to hear about your ill pooch. What does it mean for him having a heart murmur?
Determined cheering from the cheap seats about your car! What a relief.
Luckylady Hope your new radiator will make your home warmer and cosier. I'm sure you'll soon claw back the savings with your frugal ways." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi all
Blimey I am tired tonight BUT 7 hours of paid stuff done which means I have hit my target for job no.2 this week.
Is the hair looking lovely Ally? One of the reasons I grew mine was so that I can get a minimum of 8 weeks before trips to the hairdressers, after that it start to get a bit ratty looking.
20 minutes done on the spinning bike this morning (free exercise), shuffled clothes around the airers - mostly dry now. I like the drier for just finishing things off, I rarely dry anything straight out of the washer.
Have ordered 2 big fleeces for when I am at job no. 2, both massively reduced. This wasnt in the budget but I am sick of feeling cold when I go there. I will get rid of a few old things, in fact a clothes clear out is much needed.0
