Hugs Valli X
I'm here still coughing. DS's nose is sneezing and running so it looks like he has caught yet another cold. We have just been to buy vitamin tablets. We have had one cold after another since September. I have received an appointment for an chest X-ray on Wednesday. I think it is to do with my blood clot scare.

MorningMum of two, Erm no! She woke at half one and ended up in bed with us. She was still a good girl. We lay whispering to each other about grandads snoring. She really told him off this morning! She's gone now. That's my night sitting done till a week Saturday. But I have her on Tuesday morning.
Valli , I know your suffering at the moment, just be kind to yourself. I wish I knew you in real life to give you a massive bear hug cuddle. Xxx
Yorkshire lass, I get sore throats when I am stressed. It took me a long time to realise,my voice goes too. Your another who needs to be kind to herself. I think the trouble with us mums is, we don't listen to our own body's. It's taken me to my ripe old age of 62 to acknowledge this. I wish I had learnt many years ago to listen to my inner self. Life may be a lot different now if I had. Oh too deep for a Sunday morning. Dancemum, same applies to you, be gentle led to yourself today xx
I have done a big swish and swipe and filled a charity bag to be picked up in the morning. A Virgin Mary consumed. And a chicken stuffed and put in the oven. Washing done, uniform sorted. Just need to walk the garden. I feel quite excited about the year ahead. This week daughter the youngest is making her choices for key stage four. We are talking non stop about it. I can't remember it bing such a massive thing when I was her age.
A whole afternoon of football beckons, oh what joy !
Big hugs to all xxx0 -
Hugs, Valli x
I am in awe of your cross stitch Mrs MP. My mother was an avid cross stitcherr but I don't have the patience, and find dressmaking or knitting more my thing.
Yes, Mumof2, we survived the Swedish store! I have a few bits which I didn't plan on, but I will get the utility room under control some how! I also have a teen who procrastinates on her homework until the last minute. She has assessments next week so thankfully seems to be a bit more focussed about those. We will see...
Another Cromer fan here. All of my summers were spent there until I was in my teens. We had various beach huts over the years. Sadly I think they all went in the last big storm. Happy summers.
Well, not much done so far, although I have spent an hour sorting out food cupboards in the utility room. We will also be having some strange meals over the next week or so, especially as I am also trying to find the bottom of the freezer. It is so miserable outside that I think baking might be called for this afternoon.
Hugs, sticks and spoons to everyone who needs them. X0 -
Me again. The rain stopped long enough to walk round the block with the dogs. I've also sorted out the recycling and mopped the floors, although they already look like they need doing again downstairs.
But it is time to put my feet up for the afternoon.
Hugs for Valli.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Oh Valli, I know sweetheart it's so hard - you want to get going but you really can't get started. Just be really kind to yourself and do what you feel able to when you feel able to. Any chance you could see your friend this afternoon?
Loudmouth naughty Grandad snoring!
Mrs-MP what beautiful work you're doing on your cross stitch and I love the gorgeous colours. Thanks for showing a picture!
Dancemum did anyone else come up with DH's sickness lurgy or was it just him?
Karcher good luck with the swim etc. Of course it you were in Austria and went in the sauna they don't even wear swimsuits . Very glad we live in the UK.
Done my typing and can research on internet for other job whilst watching TV with kids. S done part of his homework but Z only just got out of bed and is sat having her breakfast with Whiz Whippet! Going to sort washing by which time J and S should be back with some bread so we can have our lunch (minus Z of course - as usual on a weekend).Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Valli I suppose that grief can come and go in waves, hope your day gets better.
Did my late night taxi run. DS2 was sober and I got a big hug and a thank you for staying up to get him. Then an awful nights sleep with the sore throat. And yes Loudmouth I know that I do too much. Just chilling a little now.
I have sorted some washing, and I might hoover. DH is tiling the utility room floor so I feel bad sitting about!0 -
I am working my way round my bedroom, and have sorted my no. 7 stuff and put it away and sorted the packaging for recycling. Including skirting boards. Having a clean, tidy bedroom will soothe my soul, I think. Thanks all xxx
Just having a bowl of cream of celery soup, which I love, the coffee and a biscuit or two, from a box we were given and which hasn't been opened yet...thought DS would have polished them off by now...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Fourteen years ago this July my dad died aged 84 of vascular demenita. It was a really bad time and daughter the youngest was only 7 months old. I some how managed to get over it having lost my Mum 8 months before whilst I was pregnant. Somehow I managed to block it all out. Just before Christmas, Emmerdale did a really good very true ,too bloody true story line on dementia,it opened it all up for me and I completely revisited the whole horror of this nasty nasty illness. I completely grieved,as I should have done when my parents passed but dident as I tried to be all things to all people including my unborn/. Newborn baby. Everyone said how strong I was. I wasn't. I just kept it hidden. I sat and broke my heart and laid myself bare, I felt a fraud, as I should have allowed myself to grieve when it happened but boy do I feel better for it now. I will now allow myself to show my feelings when I need to, not hide them away and tell myself I don matter.0

Ah loudmouth I'm sorry xxx but also glad you managed to deal with it in the end xxx
Valli, hugs, dear xxx it's definitely not a linear process xxx but there is no substitute for a bit of self care and self kindness xxx
DS has been trying to earn extra pocket money :A I showed him "we take everything out of the LR that doesn't live there, then we dust, then we vac" aww bless him he's done a good job! We don't have much tat in here so wasn't too hard for him
He's also going to help put the shopping away later. He can have a pound for being helpful!
