    Good morning everyone.
((Hugs)) stick and spoons to all those who need them.
I've cracked on this morning in a vague attempt to play catch up from yesterday. So far, I have stripped the bedclothes and run WM x1, cleaned cloakroom and shower, topped up the birdfeeders and thrown out a vase of dead flowers. As I had left them on the kitchen worktop, I'm counting that towards today's list - right?;)
Bizarrely as we usually get all the windy weather going, it is completely calm out there this morning. Stay safe vibes to all those where the bad weather is already movningi in. I'm off for a jog soon. As there are 3 of us, it tends to be more tongue exercise than leg ifyswim - which in my book is way more enjoyable. I have some chores to do in town after, so will catch you all later.
Hope the poorlies start to feel better.
  • I spoke too soon :o the shivers and aches are back, and my throat is red raw. A few hours under the blanket is all I can manage today x

Keep safe everyone we are in for a bumpy ride weather wish the next few days xx

eek, I just checked the local forecast after reading that and apparently "There is a chance of snow settling with disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities". No sign of snow yet and I think it is more likely to be East of me, but it is certainly windy. However I have argued with the printer/pc/internet connection both last night and this morning, so I wonder if something is amiss somewhere. Have only just managed to print off the documents for today's work.

    DW on.
Not much else fly-wise to report, it is all reasonable at present as we seem to be spending so much time elsewhere sorting out MIL's move. We did have a lovely eve dinner last night with church friends which was good. We are trying not to get into a cycle whereby Mr N is worrying about his mum and the amount of work I have; I am worrying about his worrying, and trying to keep up with my work so I can help him more. We have taken the executive decision that, rather than trawl through getting better deals for her utilities we are just going to ring the companies she is currently with, check the tariff and let them just transfer to the new flat. Goes against the grain not to take the opportunity to save a few pennies but she can afford what she's paying now (which of course is none of my business) so we'll just get her moved.

Hope all lurgies disappear, I really need to make another doc appt as the glue ear I had before Christmas hasn't gone away and days like today I wake up with a thick aching head. No time for that.

    Hope everyone is ok weather-wise.

not looking good for flying today - had lots of work come in which is good but means I can't clean to. Hope J gets this job as it'll take the pressure off me as right now I'm the only one who earns anything.

Narco, I know what you mean about worry and it does seem to spread doesn't it and you end up worrying that someone else is worrying and you both end up frazzled. Well done you on realising you can't do all the work re MIL's utilities. Times like this we have to look after ourselves isn't it and it's not being selfish at all - I'm only now starting to realise this so a bit late to the party!

  • Kitchen totally decluttered and cleaned. Dining room table tidy, made a start on paperwork and sorting out utility, so much clutter in there. It could take some time.

Hope all are well or getting better x

I don't know if any of you do it but I put myself under pressure, or rather I did until I realised what I was doing and then put a stop to it. We're doing OK!
Yeah, I'm like that; trouble is, as a child, anything short of perfect was not good enough. The day I got 98% in a maths exam, all I got from my parents was "what happened to the other 2%?" :( It's very hard to get out of that mindset.
Hope all the poorlies start to feel better very soon.
^ ^ ^ Wot she said. With bells and a tartan ribbon. GWS vibes in a pile, come and grab what you need, everyone. :o

Has anyone heard anything from Dustykitten lately? I know life was dealing her big sour lemons a while back; I was thinking about her last night.

I'm afraid I'm not doing so well today; as usual, going to the cinema yesterday pretty much knocked the stuffing out of me, and I have a distinct shortage of spoons today. We did enjoy the film, though. :o
Mr LW wants to go and see "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" next week. *rolls eyes*

I shall, however, take my sorry a$$ out to the kitchen in a minute; I need to make a nut loaf for the freezer (we're right out) and I'll do some 'snips for Stilton and roast parsnip soup (on meal plan for tomorrow) and roast some mixed roots for today's dins (veggie sausages and roasties) at the same time.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW - spoons are in a jar by the door. Help yourself. :hello:

Errands ticked off, managed to dash into Mr T on the way past so shopping and diesel also sorted. Am kicking myself for going a bit off list with the shopping but the extras will all be meal planned in and used. Eventually.
Bathroom cleaned and floor mopped. Did the kitchen floor as well while I was at it.
I've just moved 3 (pretty) storage boxes full of useful things from the RoD (aka the spare bedroom but no space for a bed in it amongst the pile of "stuff") into the dining room to replace an unattractive box of craft stuff. This is waiting for "someone" to go through it and sort it out. It has now gone into the RoD to join its many friends. I have so much craft that I can't bear to get rid of, just in case. But why didn't I think of doing this before? :wall: It looks so much better.
Just waiting for DD to get home, then off out in a bit to volunteer for a couple of hours.
    "See" you later.
  • Gosh lots of lurgey going about hugs to all. We didn't get wind here until the afternoon school run.
Brother has text , the bus was late so only him coming now. So he will be going at 7am instead . Much easier all around and cheaper (Because although they said they will bring some food I bet they "forget") . Someways sad as my niece is lovely and I adore having her..on her own lol.

Washing up hokey cokey x 2
Gardening (turned over compost and fed the flower bed..pruned late the apple tree)
    Running practice.
    Laundry hokey cokey.
Carpets swept, cushion covers replaced back on.
    Light all over tidy up.

Going to sort some things out for posting (Stamps and crochet squares and an allergy test)

Have a good afternoon all. Hope we don't need to batten the hatches down any further.

*Healing vibes* for everyone feeling under the weather and I hope Dizzy Dog is okay.

We made the decision to replace a very old secondhand under-the-counter fridge and the even older fridge freezer downstairs with a full sized one of each in the kitchen in November Mrs MP. I've never, in all the years I've owned houses or flats, ever had a new one. We used a local firm because bless them, Cu**y's were helpful but the last person we were served by hadn't got a clue, and his life story wasn't our priority that day. It was disruptive at the time because of the size of the things because we needed the extra space. No idea if they'll pay for themselves in a couple of years or longer but they are worth every penny we spent on them. I'm going to skip the extra 'insurances,' rely on the Sale of Goods Act or whatever it's called now, backed up with brilliant local repair chaps. And a happy birthday for your Mr MP, even if it is a bit belated.

You sound much more like yourself, Ionafan. Good-oh. Massive list as usual, I see. All back to normal then.

WM x 1 blowing in the wind, Shower room sparkly, onion flan made for tonight which has used up quite a lot of things left over from Christmas and OH's birthday party, Kelpie hydrotherapy'd and all's well with the world here. Happy.
    Better is good enough.

Just finished working and I'm cream crackered now. S came home in floods of tears stating he's got a horrible life. Why? Because J and S's friend were messing around with his water bottle, it fell on the floor and now the plastic is scratched. He was distraught because it's 'precious'. Sigh. Another little hoarder for me to help out. He's OK now after food and some cuddles.

Will wash up later and wipe down work surfaces too but I think that's it apart from putting load in WM.
