Oh no Dancemum - that's the last thing you need. Hoping Dancedad's lurgy won't spread to the rest of you too x

Off to bed now, night all x

  • Morning all,

Up since silly o'clock - wind speeds here are around 60mph and woke us all up. The lurgy still lingers but I feel less rotten than I did yesterday :j

I hope this of you with these winds are safe and warm - it's almost spooky out there, especially with the full moon gazing down at us too!

    Back later x

  • Morning all,

Very windy here too, I might put off the dog walk this morning.
Dancemum hope the bug doesn't spread. They've just closed one of our local primary schools due to norovirus.
Last night's list all got done. I went for a run with the dog - a full four minutes slower than my last 5k jog time. Christmas overindulgence to blame!
    Today my plan is:

    Daily stuff
    Long dog walk
Half hour tidying up at front of house
    Reading at school
    Take delivery of food shopping
    Tackle flylists a bit.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all
Hugs and good wishes to everyone.
Get well and recovery vibes to the poorlies

Busy all day today so will catch up with flying later.

Had a more in depth look at the fridge freezer situation the two we have cost us about £250/£300 a year to run and the combined one we are looking at will cost £400 initially then £65 a year to run so will have paid for itself within two years then start saving us money. Plan now is to run the freezer down as it's slightly smaller, we are going to order it at the weekend.

Morning all. Hope the poorlies including Flykids are feeling better today, and keeping my fingers crossed for you re lurgy dancemum.
    Dizzy Imp, are you OK?

It was good to be back at college last night with great people. Some had even worst Christmases (healthwise) than we did. One had her car written off on 23rd Dec by a speeding driver who couldn't take a bend; she had to be cut out of the wreckage and is lucky to be alive (as is the other driver):eek:

One of DH's friends came round to see him for an hour while I was out, which he enjoyed, so he was in a positive mood when I got home :T

    Today I aim to:
    - check bank accounts and emails
    - take DH to dentist for his 08.30 appointment
    - have breakfast later (not much later than usual!) - I've already started soaking the porridge oats
    - WMx1
    - fly in LR as per Monday's list
    - also fly in kitchen, DR, downstairs bedroom and ensuite since they haven't been cleaned since the last visitors left over a week ago and the decorations came down (saving bathroom and bedrooms for tomorrow)
    - plant at least one of my 3 amaryllis
    - water the apple tree
    - update church Gift Aid accounts
    - copy relevant pages of library books which I got from college yesterday
    - sort and file college papers from first half of module, now I know that I won't be needing them for a resubmission :D

I seem to have found my mojo :j It looks a lot, but there is very little tidying to be done, apart from the filing in my study!

Catch up later... Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all as needed x

Have you factored in replacement insurance? Modern appliances have a habit of giving up the ghost much sooner than the old stuff, which was built to last :(

Good morning. Didn't want to get up this morning.I had a shocking nights sleep due to the wind! Now worrying about daughter walking to school with her mates! She never even mentioned how bad the wind was. But I don't think they notice when there's a group of them walking in a line all on their mobiles.
I have DH at home until lunchtime he is on a late today so I have two and a half hours to myself before madam gets home this afternoon. So with that in mind and a load of catch ups on tv I will spend the morning doing the list.
Keep safe everyone we are in for a bumpy ride weather wish the next few days xx

The fridge was 2nd hand and has split door seams and leaks occasionally plus has a habit of freezing stuff sometimes so I'm not convinced it runs properly anyway. I'll be sad to see the freezer go as we've had that from when we got married. I know what you are saying and we have discussed whether to keep them until they totally give up.
this is one of the reasons we've hung on to them for so long, we tend to go for the "if it ain't broke don't fix it(or replace it)" approach.
Thanks for the input, I'm back to pondering over it now. We don't tend to go for the extra insurance anyway and we are fully aware that things are no longer built to last and aren't easily home repairable like they used to be.
My first wm was regularly repaired by Dh had bushes replaced etc now they are all electric circuits and sealed drums so impossible to home maintain.

Not really windy here in Bristol thankfully; I don't like the wind.

Dizzy you OK honey, how's your dog doing?

Ionafan certainly looks like you have your mojo back! Nice that DH had a good time with his friend yesterday. How awful re your friend in the car accident - really makes you think doesn't it.

Drove Z into school today as her leg is still hurting; she'll be early so can do her science homework too so it won't be late. I've told her I can do some little jobs for her like getting a key cut as she takes it all on but then gets concerned she's got too much on. Introducing her to the idea of little lists/prioritising - never too young to learn :)

Paid stuff to do when I get back from school run then J wants us to go for a walk; depends on if I get more work in but hope to be able to get out. Dreading kitchen as it's a bombsite but will just keep going; not doing itself is it! Catch you later
