A Ditherer's Diary (again)

Well the grass cutting didn't go too well. I borrowed MrM senior's strimmer as the grass was quite long with all the rain we've had but as I was half way through it started raining again and I didn't fancy getting electrocuted with my extension lead hanging out the front room window 😲 It's been raining since except for today but I'm busy working and we're off out for dinner with the in-laws tonight.
I've also upgraded the hot tub. They were out of stock for ages and so when I saw them available in Argos I got it, but also due to bad weather it was sat in the box in the middle of the kitchen. I went to B&Q to get a bigger pot for my Acer and saw they had a bigger hot tub for sale for £120 more. So I got it. We've returned the other one back to Argos. They gave it a thorough inspection before accepting it but we hadn't even opened the box. So the bonus money has gone down a bit more but as there's no holiday on the horizon, hopefully the hot tub will make us feel like we're somewhere lovely.
The pet insurance has agreed to pay out for Ozzie's last bill so today I cancelled the policy. They are refunding our last payment that went out as it was after he passed. So this will free up £100 a month on doggy expenditure with the food pot included. I have decided to put the £60 monthly payment towards the debt busting and the £40 a month food money split between the kids savings. I'd like to get them each up to £5k by the time they are 18 although MrM and I discussing if we will try and hold onto it until they need it for something proper like towards a flat or something. I inherited a LOT of money at 18 and by 20 it was all gone and I had nothing to show for it really apart from a car so I don't want them falling down that hole.
I haven't looked at the bank accounts yet. Doing my speciality of sticking my head in the sand as I haven't looked at it for a few weeks. Work is manic but I'm off Tues & Weds next week after the bank holiday as it's half term. 11yo has asked to go to a Museum (yay! free!). I've told her we'll take a packed lunch then if the weather is nice we can find somewhere outdoors to sit and eat.
I also chased up the cowboy builder. After his initial payment in December there's been nothing else. He explained he's on UC at the moment so there's not a lot we can do but hope his finances manage to take an upward turn.
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

We got a hot tub a few months ago, like you thinking there will be no holiday this year anyway. I'm not too keen to be honest but everyone else loves it and it has been used even in bad weather. We have a small one from Argos.

It wasn't my idea of a hot tub and I fought against it but generally lose most arguments against MrM. He's very persuasive, he should be a salesman but then again he'll use 50 words when 5 will do 🤦♀️. Typically I end up doing all the leg work finding best prices etc.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Isn't it amazing what these men can persuade us they must have. 😂

Last night we went out for a meal with the in-laws. It was so nice to be able to go somewhere. We went to a local restaurant and it was lovely.
I also forgot to mention that I got a great bargain on Saturday. I picked two tops out of the sale rail in Sainsburys that were 50% off. I expected them to be £5 & £6 each so not expensive but when I got to the till they came to £6.60 for both. Very happy bunny.
Hoping to get the hot tub up this afternoon and start filling. MrM wants it ready for Saturday nights Champions League Final. I'm so happy the weather has finally improved a bit and I can try and get some gardening done too.
