He was still so young ☹️ I’ve lost many cats over the years, illness, old age and one tragic accident and it never, never gets easier. I think for me the grief is even stronger than losing a person as I felt so completely responsible for them. You absolutely did the very best you could and he will know that. He’ll be waiting at the rainbow bridge until he can meet you again ❤️
I know it’s early, but would you consider another puppy or rescue hound? They would not be the same as your darling boy, but would bring their own joy, love and healing with them xx

MrM made a very tough phone call to the vets today to arrange Ozzie's cremation. Cue tears all round again.  Yesterday I went to my best friends and blubbed all over her and her dog who was Ozzie's best pal. We used to walk together all the time. I took his biscuits and his medication as her sister runs a greyhound rescue and may be able to benefit from them as I'd only just filled his prescription.

It is getting a bit easier day by day.

No money things to report. Just haven't looked at any of it.

I'm feeling a bit more human again now.  I still haven't managed to look at any finances as I'm just so busy with work and home life in general.

DD goes away with the school on Monday for a week so I need to get stuff sorted out at the weekend. Get out the suitcase and make sure everything she wants to take is clean and put away, buy a new toothbrush, toothpaste, flannel and washbag. Also need to find the name tags and stick them on everything. No doubt she will come home without some stuff and have someone else's dirty pants in her bag.

I've not managed to get any gardening done. My front garden is like a jungle and desperately needs a cut but it's so wet I can't get out there.  Can't believe it's May and I've had to drag the heated airer back out from the cupboard.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Not much to update really but thought I should keep posting.

I've still not managed to look at the bank account and update my ynab as work is so very busy and my inbox has absolutely exploded this week.  Which also means no time for surveys so not even got enough to cash out this month so far.

15yo is finishing school on the 28th May then it's a long summer.  I've told him once he hits 16 in June, he needs to get a job for the summer.  He and his friends have the idea of going to school for the last day in pink power rangers outfits so I've ordered one for him, a bit of fun. They'll all probably be sent home. I hope the teachers see the fun in it and let them stay.  He had a tour of the college he's applied to with MrM this week.  He still seems so very enthused which is a good thing.   His birthday is fast approaching so I need to order a couple of bits for him as his main present already bought. I've booked the day off work and want to go and get a couple of big balloons for him.

Hopefully I'll manage to get the bank account updated at some point over the weekend.  At the moment I'm washing like mad to make sure the 11yo has everything she needs for her trip. My front room looks like a laundry!

Hi, I hope you are all doing ok.
I’m not going to spend much time on my bank accounts until Friday when I can settle it in for the next month. Roll on pay day!

Hi I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your lovely dog and that when I had my dog cremated we had his ashes in a pot and i put it in a large ceramic plant pot with a tree planted in it on my patio. I though doing it that way I could take the pot with me if I ever move

That's lovely. For now he's going to be in a little wooden box on a shelf in the front room. I think it will take a while before we decide.

Yesterday was very spendy. Went onto the local town centre with 11yo to pick up her school trip bits. It's amazing how they all add up!  I've also ordered a gazebo to go over the hot tub but a fairly expensive one in the hopes it will be stronger than the cheapy ones and last longer. I'd love a wooden one but that are too expensive and our garden is too small.

Also hoping to get the grass cut today as looks to be dry most of the morning.  I watched Eurovision last night 😥 then fell down a Twitter rabbit hole and didn't get to bed until 1am. I've woken with a headache this morning.

I’m glad I didn’t watch...even the bad ones get some points! I did enjoy Graham Norton’s best bits on the bbc page though, he never disappoints.
My dad sat in a little wooden box until mum decided where he should be in the garden. It’s best to take your time with these things ❤️ In the end she chose under a beautiful tree where she can chat to him while she’s gardening.
