Marks & Spencers - a Disgrace

Is there much point? Apparently a lack of evidence, guessing certain things which wouldve helped the situation wherent done (injured 'shouldve' remained in place until first aider arrived, then it recorded in the accident book. if neccessary photos etc of the offending item) and theres a good chance anyone reading will be thinking compo culture.
With all due respect, if we had been looking for compensation we would have hung around. We weren't, we didn't. My wife was very embarrassed and ran out of the store. I then took her to A&E where she had 3 stitches. And then in my first email to them I specifically said I was not looking for, nor wanted any form of compensation.
Anyhow, I agree with you about going to the papers. Not something I'd want to do.0 -
I don't know. We left pretty quickly as my wife was covered in blood and in shock. The idea that we'd hang around for them to fill out a form before we left is clearly not applicable here.0

Wasnt saying i didnt believe you, just said it would be easy to look at it as another compo culture case if you went to a newspaper.
Can also see to an extent why you where fobbed off, someone has come in from outside saying their wife fell over in their store. If there wasnt anything on CCTV (guessing there isnt?) i would be asking why she isnt in the store and where is the blood that would come out of a cut requiring 3 stitches. Its extremely rare for any retailer to act on something without any evidence. Again not saying your not telling the truth and you dont need to justify yourself to me but you would to someone you want to act on negligence.
Shops normally have first aiders especially the likes of M&S, id wait around for a first aider but then i have a general understanding of H&S protocol in retail stores.
Not trying to attack you, just saying it as it is. Staying put wouldve been better for you (your wife), the form filling wouldve been vital evidence and increased the likelihood protocols would be put in place to ensure it doesnt happen again.
Re your complainer, report it to facebook providing as much evidence as you can. Write a letter to the store (the person) asking them to remove the libelous review or you will look to seek recompense in the court (bit of an empty threat as you will struggle to put a value on a bad review and might struggle to provide adequate evidence and it will cost you money which i imagine you would rather avoid).0 -
Perhaps a big mistake was to leave the store " i had to drag the manager outside to see my wife covered in blood"0

That is a very unfortunate incident and an extremely worrying response by M&S.
You may find that the Daily Mail would run your story.0 -
Fair points Spadosh, thanks.
Art Deco - I was furious when I saw what had happened and my first instinct after checking my wife was to go into the store. As I did the Manager was walking towards the exit (so clearly somebody HAD seen something), and I took him to see my wife. At that point it was clear she needed attention and with A&E 5 minutes away we drove off.
Anyhow, it's how they have dealt with both issues which grates, and how they don't seem to give a toss that staff members who were involved (I suspect) are now taking personal revenge.0 -

Hope your wife is ok now0 -
If it's your Facebook page, can you delete the review and block the author?"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I know it's really frustrating, but your only other option would be to complain at a much higher level. You need to also know what you want. Do you want an apology? An admission of guilt? £25 in M&S vouchers?
Hope your wife is ok now
its not down to the OP to do that, its the stores responsibility0 -
Was this guy reviewing in a personal capacity or on behalf of M&S?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
