I'm very glad that that wasn't the end of the sentence
:rotfl: That would have been awkward! I'm definitely not that kind of girl!! actually the brother ended up cheating on my friend a few years later (my OH started to suspect as they lived together so we went about investigating). I confided in another mutual friend as I didn't know how to come out and say it to our friend. She went and told her immediately without me having a chance, or telling me she was going to. The brother made up all sorts of lies, friend would no longer speak to me, it was awful and so stressful. We bought our own house to get OH away from the brother and one day 6 months later my friend rang out of the blue to say she was sorry, I was right, he'd just dumped her by text (after something like 7 years together!). We picked up where we left off as if we never had an issue & I've not spoken to the brother since 2003. OH rarely speaks to him either. At the rare family event we just look through each other as if the other is not there. Even when the family decided to sit us opposite each other at a wedding. I suspect he hates me for destroying his cosy double life, I hate him for being an absolute rat (and there is a whole heap of things he did which honestly would give Eastenders enough material for a while!).
Funny how things turn out :rotfl:0 -
In a club 21 years ago when I was 21 years old. I definitely was not looking for anyone and was enjoying being single after a bad breakup and a job change. But my friend decided to play Cupid anyway. We were on the dancefloor together when she disappeared into the crowd and returned dragging this poor bloke behind her declaring very drunkenly that he was 'my type'.
We shared a taxi home, started dating and got engaged seven months later. Married for 15 years we're now a family of four and still going strong.
Friend is still on the scene too and is very proud of the fact she made it all happen:D0 -
I happened to introduce my friends on two occasions that eventually became couples and I count those occasions as some of my best deeds in this worldThe word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

I pointed out to a friend of mine that she was totally in love with another friend of ours. They've now been married for 15 years and have two amazing children.... still my best day's work0 -
I met my wife on a residential management course, one of those where you do all sorts of outward bound activities. She worked in another part of the council so it's the only way we would ever have encountered each other.
The courses ran twice a year and I was supposed to go six months later. I went at short notice as a colleague couldn't go because she was ill, so it worked out well. The colleague went six months later and, by coincidence, she met her future husband on her course. Strange how things work out!:):dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
At work, he pursued me for a few years I played it cool ( Del boy cool) we celebrate 27 years of first going out today! Married 15 years. I know loads of couples who met there and are still together, it was a great place to work. The company is still going but not that branch unfortunately.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

My boyfriend of 10 years had moved out and I was in a pretty bad place. Watched a video by Eddie Izzard about volunteering for the London 2012 so thought I'd give it a go and try something new.
12 months later I was asked to an interview, got accepted and was signed up as a Gamesmaker (driving an Olympic car around for athlete families). Made friends with another Gamesmaker, started dating and the rest is history. We've recently moved, got engaged on Christmas Day and plan to get married next year (not in the purple uniform though).0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
