Always nice to hear how people in relationships met each other. Where did you meet your partner?

Sex chat room 17 years ago. I was 40 he was 24. Still together and happily married.0

We volunteered for the same charity (different offices). We happened to sit next to each other at the Xmas meal. Neither of us were looking at the time
I tend to believe you find when you are more relaxed. Most couples I know met through joint activities/interests/mutual friend etc - not dating sites
I am a great believer in getting out and mixing!0 -
I was out with my friends and we ended up having a piggyback race from one pub to the other, he was my piggy. That was in 1985, married 4 years later and still very happily married.0

We met at work and got on well. Then a couple of our colleagues started making entirely transparent efforts to get us together... Little did they know we'd already started spending time together outside work. It was quite amusing. We gave it about a month then told everyone we were an item. They were very happy for us which was nice although some of them still seem to think they were responsible for it.0

Online, PoF
I was randomly checking my email (and that is rabdom as i never do it and have about 300,00 unreademails :rotfl: ) and a message popped up. Being unable to sleep (this was about 4AM) i had a look, thought "he seems nice enough" and gave him a reply back. Several hours later, we were still talking. After a few days we met up in person. A week or too later i stayed at his. The rest is history. 2 years on we're still madly in love and saving up to get a place of our own. He is like nobody i;ve ever met before, he honestly is perfect for me and my soul mate. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I met my partner through the personals ads in the Metro paper
I used to get the tram to work each morning and one morning I had forgotten my cross stitch so I picked up the paper instead. I was single at the time and had been for quite some time but I just didn't seem to have any luck meeting guys. I saw his ad and thought he sounded quite nice but I ummed and ahhed all day about whether to phone up.
Eventually when I got home from work that night I gave myself a stern talking to and told myself to stop being such a scaredy cat and rang the number. He phoned me the next day and we arranged a date for the following weekend. After we had been together for eight weeks my landlord decided she wanted to sell the flat I was living in and I lost my job so he told me I could stay with him until I got back on my feet as he owned his own place.
10 years later I'm still hereI cared for him at first as he had just come out of hospital but now he looks after me as I became disabled. I meant to write to the Metro letters page last October for our tenth anniversary to let them know our story but typical my fibro fogged brain forgot

eHarmony, my flat mate at the time wanted to try internet dating and we signed up for a free trial together. I wasn't fussed on meeting anyone, he was really keen to start a relationship. By the end of our trial I was dating my other half and he had no luck whatsoever (is happily settled now with someone he met at a work convention)0

We met online (POF) two years ago. When he first messaged me I knew I had to meet him. He was the complete opposite of what I was looking for in a man but his messages were really interesting.
Before we met I'd sworn I wasn't going to live with anyone ever again. Within three weeks of our first date he was staying over 5 nights a week. By the end of the fourth month he moved in full time, after he had to move out of his rented property.0 -
He lived in the flat below me and I had a water leak. Engaged within 6 months, married within 18 months. Now been married 13 yearsZebras rock0
