Hi SA, yes thought I'd better get on with some housework whilst I have the energy. Feeling a bit drained today but have managed to get the bathrooms cleaned including floors and bath mats in the washing too.
DH did the bathroom mirrors as well as the mirrored wardrobe doors in the bedrooms that are all handprints and smooch marks from DS kissing his own reflection. :rotfl:
DH also put a washing of DS's stuff on and then a washing of towels as well. He even managed to put DS's stuff in the TD with DS's help.I have folded it and put it away then chucked the towels in.
DH finally gave me the info to write a complaint regarding our smart meter fiasco so I have written the email and sent it to him with the email address he needs to send it to. I can't send it as my name isn't on the account, will check he's done it later.
Haven't got round to the oven door or oven so far, maybe later but think it will be later in the week tbh.
Got my MRI tomorrow afternoon, not looking forward to that.At least I don't have to rush around early in the morning I suppose.
Still haven't got the new baby things/car seat etc out yet. I really need to check the clothes etc and see if there's anything we need. I should really start thinking about packing hospital bags too - one for me, one for the baby & one for DS as he'll probably be going to my mum's. DH can pack his own bag if he wants one. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Beanie, I know I need to do it but still haven't quite gotten round to it.
I think I need to buy a couple more nightdresses but not sure how big to buy them, have been buying the size up, so 14-16 rather than 12-14 but not sure if that will be big enough by the end.
:rotfl:
Still need to go through the baby clothes as well but have at least bought some newborn nappies - size 1 and 2 in case the baby is a bruiser. Some bottles ordered also as will probably only do a bit of BF for the colostrum in the first few days which is what I did with DS. Don't think the whole BF for months thing is for me, my milk was really slow to come in with DS and tbh I just didn't have the patience for it.
Had my MRI yesterday, it took over an hour and altogether we were probably at the hospital for 2 hours. Thankfully my mum had DS so we didn't have to deal with him being bored/crabby. It was quite a claustrophobic experience and I can see why people struggle with it. Won't get the results until the end of the month at my next appointment with the specialist Fetal doctor.
Got my twin nieces today, trying to get some energy up to go out to the supermarket with 3 kids in tow. I'll wait and see how I feel after lunch, nothing too urgent needed anyway. On the positive side the twins would at least keep DS entertained in the supermarket and DS just loves going out.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Made the GD brownies with the twins yesterday - they are surprisingly nice with ground almonds instead of flour and sweetener instead of sugar.
DS was wandering in and out whilst we did it.
We also made chicken korma & wholemeal chapattis for dinner. I was exhausted by the end of the day and had spent too long standing as my varicose vein was really swollen.
Managed to get out to the supermarket yesterday and get most of what I needed. DS was crabby though and had to be distracted the whole time we were inside. Got a few good bargains, a bouquet of sunflowers reduced from £5 to 75p and a big bag of daffodil bulbs reduced from £3 to £1.50. :T Maybe I can get my MIL to plant them when she's up next week. :rotfl: Doubt it somehow.
Also bought lots of ground almonds, there was an offer for 3 150g bags for £3 so I bought 6 bags, so 900g for £6. The prices online were looking like £14 ish for 1kg so I thought that was a good buy. Need to make some cakes for work next week before my annual leave so going to do the brownies and will make my usual coconut loaf but will replace the sugar with sweetener. That way I can have a bit as well.Blood sugars have still been ok but I have mostly behaved by avoiding sweets, sugar and chocolate.
Another wet day here, just chilling with DS on the couch whilst DH upgrades his 3D printer (don't ask) with my twin nieces helping. They stayed overnight last night as my sister has a course today for the full day.

Cashed out £19 from PA today and £5 from vypr. Also used my £5 SB voucher to order some enzyme sticks that you put down your plug holes and they (apparently) help to keep the pipes clean. Worth a shot and at least it's not "real"money if they're no use. Also claimed £6 from £co, so can hopefully pay some of the extra money off DH's big loan as well as towards some of my spends.
Looked out the baby car seat and base and the storage bag with the newborn clothes but still need to go through the stuff properly. Have ditched it all in the spare room for now.
My MIL arrives on Sunday, she'll just have to work around it.I stripped the spare bed and washed the sheets but told DH he's to put them on (so obviously it's still not done). She arrives in the afternoon and DH is working until 7pm. So I'm stuck with her most of the day after working 2 late shifts & being knackered. Hopefully she's not in crazy/obsessive mode with DS as that winds me up.
DS has still not been himself and refused to nap today  so he was exhausted by bedtime (so was I). He also gave the tv a good whack with his die cast toy bus. DH was not amused and was panicking saying he'd broken it and we'd need to buy a new one. It was fine.
DH has also had a bit of a sore stomach so of course he was "dying" this morning, moaning and groaning etc. He got over it with some food and paracetamol - enough to get the stupid 3D printer out again.
My dining room table has been covered in DH's blinking 3D printer and associated bits whilst he "upgraded" it for the last 2 days. At least he packed it away overnight but only because he had no choice - the cats would have played with all the bits otherwise. :rotfl: He appears to have finished tinkering with it now so it can be put away and I can have my table back until his next lot of junk descends.
He did put a washing on after I put it in the basket to be brought downstairs & hang it out then bring it in (I put it away upstairs as he still doesn't appear to realise that this is the next step in the sequence). He also did the big litter tray clean out and bring a new bag of litter in from the garage with only 2 reminders. :T
We still don't have a dental check up appointment. Reminded him again today that he needs to sort it out. He just said oh we'll do it on annual leave. Reminded him our dentist only works Mon-Wed and he's away visiting his friend the Mon & travelling back on the Tues of his annual leave. So if we want an appointment on the Wednesday he'd better phone soon, the dentist might be on annual leave herself etc etc. Just got shrugged off. Just bleeping phone & bleeping get an appointment sorted.
I'm back at work tomorrow for 2 late shifts, DH is early shifts so fully expect the house to descend into chaos. I'll have tomorrow, Saturday & Sunday morning to try and make the house vaguely clean and habitable by the time MIL arrives. We're talking minimal effort here as I'll have no energy by Sunday. Bet DH "forgets" to put the bed sheets on the spare bed. Oh well. She could do me a favour and clean for me. :rotfl:
Just read this post back and I think it's clear that DH has been annoying me the last few days. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Have given the living room a quick hoover and the kitchen floor a quick spray mop so far this morning. Also emptied the kitchen bin which was overflowing again, how does it get so full so quickly??
Had a bit of a disaster making rice pudding to use up full fat milk this morning though. Had just poured all the milk into the dish then opened the cupboard above and a packet fell out and landed in the middle of the milk. *cry* There was a huge tidal wave of milk all over the worktop, floor and me. So that was fun to clean up. DS was standing in amazement going "eww yuck". :rotfl:
Need to put a claim in to get my money back for my last chiropractor appointment, need to scan the receipt in and then I can do it all online. Also need to get my food sorted for work and decide what to wear - don't think my uniform blouse is going to fit.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Work was fine last night, got home just after half 11 and tidied up the kitchen a bit. DH had washed most of the dishes which was good. :T
I made up some jelly for DS and put it into the fridge to set overnight and put the ingredients into the breadmaker for a 50/50 loaf. Also set the dishwasher to start in the morning, so got a few small things done before getting ready for bed.
Blood sugars have been creeping up a bit so need to be careful of what I'm eating.Always seem worse when I'm working because I eat at odd times due to the shifts.
Definitely no more cereal for breakfast now.Forced myself to eat boiled eggs this morning but was nearly gagging so don't think that's a long term solution, just didn't feel like them.
Asked to start finishing a bit earlier at work from Monday, so finishing at 10 instead of half 11. Only 3 more shifts and I'm on annual leave for 2 weeks, then I'll be back for 4 early shifts before 2 annual leave days then maternity leave starts. Looking forward to the rest but also a bit apprehensive as work is a bit of an escape for me at times.
So far today I've emptied the dishwasher, handwashed the breakfast dishes and put a washing of DS's clothes on. Might try and clean the bathrooms but will see how I'm feeling.
Need to drop DS off at my mum's on the way to work and DH will pick him up on his way home. Also need to collect an order from M&S today or it will get sent back, buy some milk and get some cash out as sharing a curry at work tonight. Just need to limit my rice/naan intake and blood sugar should be fine with that.
Feeling tired today so will try and get to bed earlier tonight after work. Need to sort the house out/find something easy for dinner tomorrow since MIL arriving well before DH finishes work.
Don't think she's happy that I told her to get a taxi from the airport. :rotfl: You have to pay to get into the airport now to pick someone up, plus I'm not trailing DS out when she can easily get a taxi. She's not complaining to me of course but is making a fuss with DH about how she doesn't know how to use the app to order a taxi. He told her to phone instead then. *hard rolling of eyes* My patience is already wearing thin and she hasn't even arrived yet. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. You've had lots going on since I last popped in, hope DS is back to his normal self. For the baby, just make sure you have enough bits sorted for the first few days, everything else will fall in to place, especially once you're on maternity leave. Not long to go now, you're doing great
Wishing you lots of luck and patience for the MIL, if it gets too much leave her with DS and go for a nap, you've got the perfect reason being so heavily pregnantxx

Hi Dancing, thanks for stopping by. I used the napping strategy a lot last time both MIL & FIL were visiting and doing my head in. :rotfl:
DS seems a bit better, have tried taking him off full fat milk and switching to semi-skimmed, don't know if it's a coincidence that his stomach seems to have improved but will keep him off it for now. Need to email the dairy and ask them to change our milk delivery to 2 pints of semi-skimmed rather than 1 full fat, 1 semi.
Feeling drained today and need to try and do some stuff around the house before MIL arrives. DH did at least put the sheets on the spare bed. :T
Going to hang a washing up, put it on a timer last night after work. Thinking about making something for dinner in the slow cooker, maybe chicken casserole, something easy anyway. Need to do a bit of baking for work as stopping for my annual leave on Tuesday so my turn to bring cakes in.
Another packet fell out of a cupboard this morning and decided to land on my plate, sending my toast & peanut butter flying. *cries* What is going on?:rotfl: The toast & peanut butter stuck to the bread bin! I think I need to organise my cupboards better. :rotfl:
DS is currently emptying his toy boxes across the living room floor. It looks worse than it is though and he doesn't mind helping to tidy it up (usually).Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. MIL only slightly doing my head in so far, I think it helps that I'm escaping to work! Had a long day on Sunday just me, DS & MIL as DH was working until 7pm and then he got delayed a further couple of hours at work.
I made chicken casserole and dumplings in the slow cooker so at least dinner was sorted and had enough leftovers for dinner at work last night.
MIL starting to try and take over a bit with DS/anything to do with the house, which is a bit grating but trying not to get annoyed as she is (probably) trying to help. She just has a bit of an annoying way of doing it at times. :rotfl:
She goes home tomorrow afternoon anyway so not much longer to go. I'm off to work again for another late shift so only this morning/early afternoon and the same tomorrow to go.
Nothing much else to report, cashed in SB for another £5 voucher yesterday and got £25 through from OP. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0
